Congratulations! What an inspiring story for others who have health issues. Thanks for sharing.

Firstly, congratulation on your weight loss to date. MFP has a search function. I checked it and there's quite a bit on the subject apnea and it's causes and comments from others regarding CPAP machines and masks. The most important thing is, if you need a CPAP, get it and use it. I've had one for about 8 years - much…

Thank you for taking the time to tell your courageous story. It can't have been easy to struggle with health issues while losing weight. This week I've been watching the Olympics and your effort is worthy of an Olympian. Congratulations!

Yes it works, providing: you set realistic goals within the site in the beginning, you measure and weigh to ensure you know portion size log in faithfully, including the bad days learn from others in the Community give back so others can learn I'm about 6 months in and have lost 36 lbs. That's after many years of yo-yo…

MFP has been a real help to me. The database is amazing and so are the comments from people like you. Both keep me going. I would also add that this is the first time that I've set the "guilt" aside and as Katia said, looked at the cold hard numbers.

Welcome to MFP. The ladies who have alreay responded have some good advice. My two cents: - the MFP calories depend on what you have asked of MFP. For instance, I work in an office so marked my fitness level as Sedentary. Also, I wanted to lose weight slowly (and surely!). You might want to re-examine that part. Having…

I would agree with the others that a 100 cal protein shake is not enough breakfast. In the mid-morning, I have a cup of skim milk. It's fast and easy to drink, provides protein and is low in calories.

Good for you! That was a GREAT NSV. Thanks for sharing! I love the sign above your name.

You might try the following web sites. They both have great, tasty recipes from all over Skinnytaste Canadian Living Magazine

Welcome to MFP. The weather is likely warm enough at your lake that you could swim a good all-round exercise. Just check out the calories you can burn on the Exercise tab. For safety, I swim parallel to the shoreline. If you're not a strong swimmer, you can still exercise in the water or tread water near the dock. A great…

I agree with carrinaj to go with the larger size. Years ago, I ordered the smaller size and they had to add pieces to my bridesmaid dress. Talk about a stressed out bride! (Unless of course you could order both and pick whatever fits you at the time) Good luck!

Welcome! We all started just like you - wondering whether we could do it or not. And by golly, we are doing it. The people above me have made some very good comments. Especially adbohls #3. At the end of the day, it comes down to math - not strange diets or expensive videos. If you count faithfully (food and exercise), you…

Firstly, congratulations on your weight loss! You didn' get where you are by giving in to every temptation. That said, like is full of temptations (sigh) and this will be one in a long string. There's no need to say no, especially if you know what will be on offer. Some ideas: 1. look up calorie/fat/sugar counts for the…

Now, you both look like your younger sister/brother! Congratulations!

You look younger in every picture. Great job!

Just switch to cold skim milk 0 sugar and 0 fat. About food that floored me - Costco Chicken Pot Pie 728 for 1/4 or abt 525 for 1/6. It's on the database.

I grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada: In summer: going to the playground to play chinese checkers & play on the swings swim all day at the sandpit until the 4 pm whistle blew chasing fire trucks on our bicycles watching Mighty Mouse and later in the afternoon, Bugs Bunny In winter: tobogganing (sledding) by the light of…

Welcome to MFP Robbie You've done a great thing for your sister and you as you can share your journey. My brother was instrumental in having me join MFP in January. Congratulations on your degree! My experience so far: - it's all math - once you set your website goals, you will lose - log it, no matter what (some log in…

Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom. I hope to follow it so that I can pay it forward next year.

I don't know the area that you will be camping in so I don't know if you will be fishing. If you can catch walleye or a similar fish: Mash a banana on top of the panfrying or bbquing fish and top that with just enough dry breadcrumbs to cover both then drizzle a BIT of margarine on top. Loosely cover with foil so that the…

You look amazing, Birthday Gal! I especially liked your second paragraph - in a few years you have learned what it has taken me a lifetime to learn. Congratulations!

My experience is that the food calorie counts are pretty good. For instance, at the beginning, I always checked the count in MFP with the counts on the side of the package. The majority are spot on. The beauty of MFP is the huge database of foods so that there's no excuse not to know what is going in one's mouth. While…

As someone who travels several times a year, I always research my surroundings before I leave. If your hotel has a website, start with that first. Then ask work colleagues in the area for advice on good routes. If there's a Running Room store nearby, they will have pre-set routes that you could follow. I can't remember the…
