You joke, but... why not? Think about it seriously, anyway. Could be a whole new career for you.

Despite what this guy is saying, he is not ready for marriage if that's his attitude. I'm a husband and father, and it takes a certain... selflessness. Not trying to sound "noble" here, but you *have* to treat your family's needs as important as your own. When my first child was born, there was suddenly a lack of…

No, we're shallow. Just don't care about stretch marks. Seriously, it's one of those things that women get worked up about that men just think

Bump. Anyone else doing Visual Impact?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm going on a grocery shop tomorrow so a lot of these will be on my list. (Apart from cottage cheese, sorry Juwaack68!)

Why don't you ask them to move?

No-one's suggested anything I don't like yet!

I can see why guys' reactions might seem confusing, but consider this: A woman in a tight dress with big fake boobies is eye catching. Someone walking down the street dressed as a clown is also eye catching. Fake boobies are like a fantastic trailer for a movie which turns out to be crap.

Thanks, yes I should state my goals! I want to put on as much visible muscle as I can; so not necessarily dense and compact as you are doing. I'm following the Visual Impact course: http://visualimpactmusclebuilding.com/

My word, that's so true. "Entitlement culture" is the downside of a welfare state, and it's an issue that really divides me politically; on the one hand there should be aid for those who really need it... on the other hand, you've got layabouts who think they're owed something for nothing and fiddlers who know how to work…

This was something that just floored me on my US trip, and it's an American characteristic that I'd love to see the UK adopt.

No, this is my observation too. I had a graphics teacher who came from Grimsby, he had a real culture shock in Oxford. I personally try to be a friendly, outgoing southerner; I get some surprised looks! (Sometimes people are pleasantly surprised, sometimes suspicious. It's weird!) PS - Sorry you had a bad experience in…

Here in the UK, Bud is seen as *the* American beer; my ex-boss, an American, put me straight on that! People assume we Brits are polite, but last summer I had the greatest time in Southern California; people were so friendly and helpful to us as tourists - not just workers, but passers-by. I live near Oxford, a popular…

That should be on a T Shirt!

Thanks OP, useful info.

True. Why, as I type I'm enjoying a Snickers... mmmm..... Snickers.....

Office I used to work in, if I brought in a salad for lunch it'd be "Oh, you're on a diet then?". Could bring in chocolate, biscuits, BLT sandwiches... no comments. It's like trying to eat healthily is weird or something.

You need this group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/631-doctor-who-fans

Well.... hello there

Might be tricky with frozen food, but find a way to stash, lock the food away... ...and, importantly, don't feel guilty about it. You're feeding your kids, you're making sure they are healthy. If they "graze" at other times and it's potentially undermining your own efforts then you have to act. It's not being crazy, it's…

There was one thing I tried, which I was sceptical about, but worked for me, at least most nights. You get into bed, get as comfortable as you can. Then, starting with your feet, you "think" your way up your body, repeating mentally a few times: "I am relaxing my feet, I am relaxing my feet". Then, "I am relaxing my…

Within five days, just to be certain.

"I love humans. They always see patterns in things that aren't there." And I'll court controversy with this one: "I'm half human. On my mother's side." Both from the Eighth Doctor in the TVM.

Personally, I'm getting used to working in metric weights. But I think you'll have a long wait until we all do it!
-
Don't know about weightloss groups. In my experience, in health care it's metric. Last doctor's checkup I had I was told my weight in KG. Followed by me asking the inevitable "What's that in..." I think the healthcare professionals get this all the time, there was a conversion chart taped to the wall behind the scale!

Hi, first post. Hello from the UK. Yes, a stone is 14lb. But it's not 'informal' at all here. Most bathroom scales bought in this country will be marked in stone/llbs as well as KG. Ask someone here what their weight is and (assuming they don't think you're being rude!) you'll hear the answer in stones/llbs.
