Feel free to friend me :) I log on everyday. As to your question 1100 calories is low. You can function like that for a few days, but your body really needs more than that just for basic organ functioning and walking. MFP probably put you at 1200, and eating back exercise calories. If you browse the forums at all you'll…

Thanks, this is really helpful. My asthma rarely bothers me anymore now that I am in better shape, but that means that when allergies join the mix I get unexpectedly wheezy.
-
The more support the better! I've also gained weight back over the past few months and am back to MFP and committed to logging everyday.

I used to weigh myself daily and it was not at all unusual for me to have big fluctuations from day to day, as much as 7 pounds. Usually when I was way down one day I was up a few pounds the next, but on average the scale was moving down at a safe, healthy rate. For me it seemed related to sodium intake (ie water…

I've been running for a while, currently working back up to a 5k after a break, and I just started swimming again yesterday! Add me if you like. I'm on everyday.
-
I'd probably log it as walking at 2 or 3mph. You're probably burning more than that, but better to under than over estimate. That's what I used when I worked catering.

I haven't had that issue with mine (same model), but do you wash it regularly or at least rinse it thoroughly after every workout? I've heard it can cause problems not to. It might be the location too. I wear mine right at the base of my sternum, so my bra elastic goes right over the top of it.

Can you walk during your lunch or other breaks? When I'm at the office I will try to take the stairs to the basement bathroom (I work on the 3rd floor) instead of just going down the hall. Can you stand at your desk and walk in place? It might look silly, but maybe some coworkers would join you. Curves is also a great 1/2…

I log in a couple times a day (after each meal and after exercise). Anyone can add me for support, encouragement, and food exercise ideas. I'm trying to lose about 20lbs, and my diary is open. The more the merrier :)

A similar thing happened to me yesterday. I worked out at a pretty normal level for me, but probably went into it underhydrated. I wasn't feeling great for the last few minutes, then downed a powerade and a water bottle, then puked when I got home. Since I puked up water, and not food or bile (TMI? sorry), I assumed it was…

Like lots of others, I don't cut out entire food groups, or lie to myself and think I'll NEVER eat cake or pizza or whatever. Cheat for me is going overboard with unhealthy food then not logging it (as if not logging it means in never happened), or being afraid to find out how many calories I just ate so I don't log it.…

That's awesome! I'm currently working back up to a 3 mile base after getting out of the running habit for a few months, then I'm going to train for my first half.
-
I'll be hitting the gym with the husband as soon as he wakes up from Sunday afternoon nap. I'm thinking I'll run/walk for 3 miles, trying to increase my run time, then do an incline workout for 1/2 hour.
-
My dog would be tired in less than a mile too. Great job getting active!

Counting calories is definitely an adjustment, but once you develop the habit it's not difficult. Plus MFP does so much of the work for you as far as keeping track of how much more or less you can/should eat. I'm sending you a friend request. I keep my diary open, and while I don't always make the most healthy choices, I…

I noticed that a while back. So sneaky. How do they expect someone to save the other half of the packet for later? They should just call it 10 calories.
-
I have been in a similar situation, eating at 1200, working out a lot and not losing. Increasing my calorie intake and paying more attention to my macros (more protein especially, but also less sugars) pushed me over the hump.

You might try one of Jillian Michaels 30 day programs. It can really help tone you up. And do as much cardio as you possibly can - the elliptical is a good calorie torcher and very low impact. See if there's a gym nearby with a free trial period. A lot of gyms have tv's hooked to the machines, so you can watch a show while…

At home right now I have 4 pork sirloins and a bottle of Kansas City Style BBQ sauce in the cooker. On low all day, and it's tender and juicy by dinner. It's one of the few things I have time to put on when I have to leave the house really early. My husband and I love it.

I had the exact same experience! I'm 10 days into a comeback after an hiadus. I was really consistent before that, then got off track after getting married. I'm back on it now. Sending your a friend request :)

I used to eat egg whites for breakfast a lot. Low calories, good protein, and lots of ways to make it different. I'd put 2 or 3 eggs worth of liquid whites in a mug and microwave it about 2 minutes, then add salsa or spinach or just salt and pepper. I also love greek yogurt.

I'm back after a short mia, committed and logging on everyday. Friend request coming at you :)

Drinking lots of water and cutting WAY back on sodium helped get me over a plateau a while back. The loss on the scale was probably from not retaining water, but it felt good and motivated me to see the scale move again so I wanted to keep up all the hard work.

I've done curves a few times and had good success with it. Especially when I was new to working out and intimidated by a big gym and all the machines, the simplicity was great. I think the key thing with Curves is to make the most of the "recovery boards". Do serious cardio in between the machines, not just walking in…

Vacation is my nemesis too. Add me if you want :) I'm active (on MFP and in life) and love having friends to motivate each other.
-
I'll be your friend :) Send me a request.

Friend request coming at ya! I love having as much community on MFP as I can get.

I get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information available sometimes as well. What worked well for me was that I started out at 1200 and ate back my exercise calories (your total calorie intake should not go under 1200). I would go over calories 2-3 times every week with eating out or missing a day of exercise, and I…

That burn is probably really high. I'm 5'8" and was in the 160's when doing those same videos regularly and my burn with a Polar FT4 monitor was 500s for one and 400s for the other. These numbers are different for everyone, but probably not THAT different. You are still getting an amazing burn though. Maybe refuel with a…

I can imagine how frustrating that must be. I'm sure hormones are a big part of it. If you are breastfeeding but eating at a deficit your body may be trying to hold on to everything it can. Even if you aren't breastfeeding, since you are only a few months post partum your body is still adjusting to not being pregnant and…
