HRM is better but still not perfect, nothing is going to be pinpoint because things like intensity and weather will affect how many calories you burn. As for MFP as a rough guide I halve the amount of calories it says I've burned off.

It's hard to judge exercise calories accurately.I certainly think the jogging/exercise calorie calculations on MFP are way too generous so you have to find your own level. As for 1200 cals only maintaining weight, thats nonsense, everyone should be able to lose on more than 1200 if they are recording correctly. Good…

I'm always over in protein, I'd be far more worried if I was over in fats. Isn't protein good for reducing hunger pangs?

Surely leafy green veg can be eaten in enormous quantities or have I been reading the wrong books? Yes, you have to make allowances for moments like this.It's not a disaster, just make sure you make up for it over the next day or two

I have two, a 'good' scale and a 'bad' scale ,for some reason one of them puts 7 pounds on me compared to my actual weight. I don't use them every day ,just when I feel I need to check in.

I don't think less than 1000 calories a day is advisable but I'm not sure why you'd gain on just 1200 calories either.Are you recording all your intake including things like milk etc?
