I have used mine for a couple of months and have found it easy to use. If you do a lot of driving it is a pain logging the driving on the fitbit site. This removes false steps and stairs climbed. (There is a phone app which makes this easier as you can do it there and then) One downside that I have yet to sort out is if I…

I had the usual Blood pressure talk from the Docs last year. Lost a bit- in the region of 25lbs then put it all back on. The "fat" point was at the start of this year. At work they do a 10-week weight lose challange and I have entered for the last 2 years, never done much, cut out a few cakes and cookies at work for a bit.…

I've found that, several weeks a pound here, a pound there. Then a jump of 4-5lb then back to 1lb the week after. Doing nothing different. Eating the same and drinking the same. Just carry on, weigh next week and hope you are still down!!

Feel out of place here...... but in a year who knows I might belong on this thread

My other half has bought a pandora braclet and is getting a new bead every half stone (7lb) when she reaches maintainance she plans to get a new bead every 3 months she maintains

This is my take on exercise calories. You tell MFP what activity you do in a normal day. I work in an office and sit all day. So I am sedentary. MFP then calculates the calories you need to power your body and maintain. It then gives you a deficit figure based on your weight lose goal, in my case -1000 calories per day. OK…

There are cakes in the office today and one is not a problem (73 calories) but I am struggling not eating the rest of the tray...... Glass of water has not helped, so now off to find a better option. I did so think I could have just one, but obviously not made as much progress as thought.

I managed to pick up a second hand polar, think it is F11 and it does just what I need. A link to the PC would be nice, but I can manage transfering data manually. I would definatly recoomend polar. I struggle with the strap not making a good link, think I need some gel.

The door on the way out..........

I am the complete opposite. I tell everybody that will listen. Working on the principle that it keeps me focused and my own mind on it. Especially now that people in work/social life are starting to notice. A wow your looking good leads to a 10 minute "wow MFP is this great site....." It keeps me thinking about what I have…

You will be fine, just make the right choices when you can. If you want a gin and tonic have one. You are already half way there in wanting not to go over, and not just using it as an excuse to let go. Just remember when you get back to give it a few days before stepping onto the scales. While away your sodium may go up…

I am going the other way, so can not help. Sorry. Good luck on helping. Might be worth trying to get dad to log on MFP. Then he might see ways to help himself.

I have been on here in Jan and have done well so far, but looking to lose 21lb before the end of the year. Add me and I'll do what I can to help.

Do you have access to a microwave? If so you could grab a box of eggs and do scrambled eggs and add bits as you fancy. The supermarket just round the corner from me does crayfish tails in a small pot. Otherwise salads and add protien, tinned fish or prawns etc.

I have a head shot cos it was the first photo of me I could find that was not too bad. It is a photo from my work pass so I see it every day. I am not yet ready to post "body" shots headless or not!!

If everyone in the world had the same body fat as you, it would add 121,518,746 tonnes to the total weight of the world's population

I think this is the bit that I am only just now coming to terms with. There is no end to this. I am always going to have to track, If I dont then old habbits will creep back in and in a blink I will be putting on a larger pair of jeans. I do allow chocolate and wine and beer, if I want it. Just have to make room in the day…

OK so better go and research measuring BF% Ta muchly

Look forward to any answer to this one, fitbit or hrm, my next birthday is looming

Yep I started at 294 lb and was amazed at just how much stuff you can eat. When you eat cleaner and make a few sensible choices those 2000+ calories can go a long way. Of course counting it all and making the right choices seems to be key.

It was the converting pounds to stones that scared me onto using MFP. I weighed in for a post-Christmas "biggest loser" challenge. Bit of laugh in the office did not plan to take it too seriously, just say no to a few cakes and biscuits. I got back to my desk and converted the value in pounds to stones and pounds and…

Gulp 20lb in 13 weeks..... Count me in

I am sure I should weigh weekly, but it does not happen like that. Official weigh day was Monday morning, but found that this was effected too much by the weekend, probably salt and water, so switched to Tuesday. The problem is that I still tend to weigh in Mon and Tue expecting Mon to be high and to drop down again on…

24 weeks, you will get there. Feel free to add. I am aiming to lose about the same amount. Using friend and support on MFP is the way to go. If nothing else stops you boring close friends and family rigid with the whole thing!

Slow, but steady seems to be working for me, so I am not going to knock it. Lost track of when we started but think it was the 26th March 2012. Which I make to be week 13/14 OK last week lost 1.1 lb and since 26th March lost 18lb (1.3 per week) This copmpares to 1.8 lb per week average since I started MFP on 9th Jan 2012,…

Having been there, with a caring other half wanting me to lose weight I am not sure there is an answer. It took a Biggest Loser Challange at work to open my eyes. Even after a few years of delicate nagging from the better half. However be careful and nagging will have the direct opposite result! We blokes are stubborn like…

Just go back to basics and refocus, ignore the time or the amount to lose. You have to lose 1lb in the first week. The summer makes it easier, nicer selection of salads and veggies and it is great to get into the fresh air and burn some extra cal. We both want to get down 30 odd pounds before Christmas, but little steps,…

Or you just enjoy the weekend, have a few drinks, (count them) and refocus on Monday. A blip is a blip, not worth stressing over. If you can go for the lower cal options already given, then do if not just avoid *too* many snacks
