Me and my other half are both on MFP, we have both gone for the small rewards approach. Her's was to buy a pandora braclet and is buying a bead for every 7lb I have gone for a lesson on the squash court for every 7lb lost. I enjoy the 40 minutes running around and helps towards the next coaching session.

OK, So I'll have a bash at this one. Goal 3500 (Gulp....)

Went swimming over lunch Avoided the chocolate urge while stopped at the petrol station. (Why is it so hard to find something to snack on instead of a chocolate bar?)

1lb up, but have been on holiday for 2 weeks, so I'm more than happy with that, chips, wine and lots of brandy and still managed to be reasonably controlled.

I echo the above posts, but let me add this thought to the mix. If you have managed to stick to as restricitive a "diet" for 14 days. Then you should have no issues using MFP to count and set some long-term substainable targets. Look at it this way, it took longer than 17 days to put on, so slow and steady wins the race.

Not quite at the point of needing to go shopping, but I went through the wardrobe and realised clothes I had stopped wearing a couple of years ago now fitted and threw out bits that I will never wear again as they are too big. Previously would have kept them, in case... Now if I slip back into old habits I will have to…

I am playing squash a couple of times a week, walking at lunchtimes and running round witht he kids at a weekend. Help coach the little ones at rugby Sunday morning. Kepp meaning to go swimming, but life keeps getting in the way. It is amazng just how much more mobile I am on the squash court without those extra pounds,…

Not a bad week, first decent weather in the UK this weekend, so friends bought out the BBQ. Great company, good food, bad beer! Even so about 2.5lb down this morning breaking a static couple of weeks so have to be happy with that.

Name: Andy Highest Weight: 294 Starting Weight: 270 Goal Weight: 240 (Then see from there!) Height: 5' 11" Pets: 2 dogs, 2 kids Food weakness: grazing New found healthy food addiction: sunflower seeds Anything else we should know about you: More than 30 to go, but good start. Have already lost 24lb so this will be the…

We are about at the same point, I am 7 weeks in and have lost about 18lb. I think we are both doing better that we think. Remember that we are in this for the long haul, not the quick sprint. I am aiming for about 80lb this year, so a bit to go yet. Does not help that I have a horrid cold today and feeling bad. Good to…

It feels so "wrong" but the occasional beer and a few nuts go down a treat!

I've done a few Zumba classes with my good lady and it was a total scream, I must have lost more calories laughing. It was good fun and I did not make a total fool of myself, but 285lb of uncoordinated me going the opposite to *everybody* else must have been a sight!

Have already cut the refined sugar/carbs at the start of Jan. I have cut down the drink to at most a couple of beers a week. It seems a bit of a con to "give up" something I have already cut back on..... I like the idea of a challenge..... Maybe walk a mile a day for Lent

Tea, water, beer, wine ..... I have just about stopped drinking coffee and feel great, but not sure if it is losing 17lb or cutting the coffee.... I have never taken sugar in tea or coffee so dont miss sweet drinks. I do not miss coke or pop, used to drink weak cordial, but mostly tea (earl grey or green) and lots of…

Hiya, I started from 294, so have a bit of a headstart, but you are already well ahead 34lb in 10 weeks. I am 17 in 6 weeks. You have said yourself that 180 seems an unreachable goal, so what about a smaller goal. What about setting your first goal to be 250, about 14lb away.(If my math is right) Then 225, 200 etc. Lots of…

Tracking food and exercise Everything else seems to have followed from there. More water Packing snacks Always eating breakfast More exercise, a little everyday Tracking everything... Makes you eat better if you track it. 16lb since early Jan and feeling better for it. Have just booked my first squash lesson as a reward…

Another Brit, living in Somerset. Joined a while ago, started tracking on MFP this week. In for the long haul so this may be amongst the first of many posts! (80lb to go)

I am finding that sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds are good for me. If you eat them one at a time a little lasts a long time and washed down with a glass of water seems to work for me. (Well at the moment, next week I may have to try something else)
