That's hilarious. Last year my dog ate some of our Christmas cards that were sitting on a bench. When I came home, she was cowering in the downstairs bathroom (where she never usually goes). Another time I left my breakfast pancake on the counter while I ran out to the garage to grab something. I came back in seconds later…

Playing in the snow is fun, but I'm ready to come in now!

That's so precious!

I am scheduled for 2 World Major marathons this year, Boston and Chicago. It's funny, but I didn't actually think about that until I saw the title of your thread and thought that's what you were referring to. I will also do some shorter races this year, but I don't have my schedule completely planned out yet. I have never…

What distance is your mini marathon? Are you still getting in a double digit run on the weekends? The answer to this really depends on the distance of your race and your overall goal. The more consecutive miles you have the better, but as long as you are getting in at least one long run of double digits per week, you…

I make shakes with canned pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla protein powder and milk or almond milk or also with banana, chocolate protein powder peanut butter and milk or almond milk. I also make them with any other fruits as well. If you don't have a mini blender, I would highly recommend getting one. You said you were also…

I think that grass is my slowest surface for running, except maybe sand. The uneveness is hard to detect, much more so than dirt. That is a fantastic pace on grass! Yesterday I did a tempo-ish run. 7 miles with about 3 at tempo pace. Pace was slightly faster than last week, but still way slower than I want to be. My tempo…

I am 7/10 as well and I definitely appreciate the easy days too. My husband was out on Wednesday and Thursday evening at a work function that his company does annually where they bring in the employees that work out of town. The second evening is always a drunk fest for them. Wednesday night was pretty easy for me but last…

This is an old one, but captures that look your dog reminds me of. And that GIF could have easily been Stella. Acts exactly the same.

I love the photos of your dog. Reminds me so much of mine. She's white with brown spots, but it's those eyes. She has those same eyes that just melt me to pieces! I will try and find a new picture that I haven't posted yet. What kind of dog is he? We believe mine to be a Fox Hound/ Boxer mix.

Trying to keep up with this thread and still sucking at it. The weather took a turn for the (waaay) colder here. Nothing I haven't run in before, but given the choice to stay in my warm bed and postpone my run until after work, I will pretty much take it (which I did this morning). Tuesday I did speed work on the treadmill…

@Runaroundafieldx2 _ Congrats on the job!! Feeling pretty positive this week. Eating better to help shed those couple of holiday pounds. Back on track with the exercise and feeling good about doing a more well-rounded routine instead of devoting all of my time and energy to running. I took a plyometrics class on Monday and…

Which one? I am in Ohio and always looking for trail races. I might look into doing my first trail marathon this year. Currently registered for Boston marathon in April and Chicago in October. Also planning to run the Cincinnati Cyclones Frozen 10K in Feb and Heart Mini half or 15K in March as well as a 14 mile trail run…

I think that any "advanced" plan is going to get you to your goal as long as a) your goal is realistic and b) you follow it properly. And by following it properly, I mean that you do all of the prescribed runs at the proper pace. Finding what that pace is a challenge of its own that sometimes takes some trial and error.…

5 of 7 AF days so far in January. Friday night I drank about a half bottle of wine and I finished it on Saturday, so 5 drinks total, which is less than my 1 per day average target. I am feeling pretty okay with that.

Plyometirics class last night was good. It was at a PT place that's below our local running store. There were about 8 people there including the instructor, mostly tri guys, some of who I know a little from running group. There was one other lady that I have run with a few times but also don't know really well. The…

Doh, one week in and I am already terribly behind on this post. I am not going to give up on it though, just going to have to miss most of what happened over the weekend. On Saturday I did my first double digit run since November 4th. My legs were sore, it was slow and I was tired. Guess that's what you get for taking…

Yep, running does that to me too. The old " I earned it" attitude. Doesn't help that most of the runners I know are drinkers!
-
I am in for a "less alcohol" January. All in all, I did cut back in 2018, but November and December could have been a lot better. Too much going on. I still have not yet decided that a completely alcohol-free life is right for me, but I must admit that I do worry that I drink more than I should. I will take 2019 one day at…

That trout looks sooo good. Want to eat it RIGHT NOW!

I have never seen a dog that wasn't excited about going for a walk. That tells me all I need to know.

Sorry, I missed this. I was mostly MIA through much of December due to being busy at work and a few stressful situations with family things. I am glad this thread popped up on my feed today, as I had forgotten about it. Even though it was only 6 weeks ago, it was fun to go back and see my goals. Still trying to do my best…

Due to the fast pace with which this thread moves (running pun intended...I can never resist), I have bailed on the past few months because I have found it difficult, and at times even stressful, to try and keep up. But I really have missed you guys, so I want to join back in. I am going to say it up front though: I know…

I walk my dog every morning before work, regardless of the weather. She knows it and expects it, waiting patiently, tail wagging, as I put my shoes on. If you can make yourself do it for a week or two, your dogs will recognize the pattern and come to expect it as well. They will then be all the motivation you need...how…

Ditto. Hoping to run it uninjured this time, so efficient training is my goal!

Yeah, but still not happening :)
