Thanks for the advice kamcat73. I really just need to check my motivation list and get back in the game. Maybe I'm just in a workout slump right now. The real reason for my post this morning is that I heard an awesome quote.... "Many of life's greatest failures are people who did not know how close they were to success…

Wow! We have a nice little crew now! Welcome everybody!! I'm off to a good start diet wise since my 4th of July BBQ badness. However, I am having a hard time with exercise. I am sooooo fatigued lately. I can't seem to get up early enough to make it to step class at 5am and if I wait until 5pm when I get off work, I…

Welcome Bettame32! @ BSantos, do you track sodium? I found that when I added sodium to my tracker it was a real eye opener.

So we made it through the first day. Maybe it went great or maybe you are off to a bumpy start. Whatever the case may be, keep going. Tomorrow is another day. I do want to share something that I was listening to on the Jillian Michaels podcast a couple of weeks ago. She says that we don't have to give up our favorite foods…

Here goes.....starting weight 247. Curse those salty 4th foods. Oh well. It will drop off soon enough. Is anybody going to join me?

Hear, Hear!!:drinker: I feel the same way. Why do we wait to love ourselves? You need to make peace with who you are or who you will become is someone that still has the same self-esteem issues wrapped in a better package.

I like classes better because you don't have to think about it. Just follow along. I find that I'm so busy trying to learn the steps that I don't notice that I'm burning calories.

You are definitely not alone. I have a husband who can eat just about whatever he wants and not gain weight (I hate him. not really!). We go to the store and I get fresh fruit, veggies, chicken breast, etc. and he gets honey buns, oatmeal pies and hot pockets. If I were not a snacker myself, it wouldn't be so bad, but I…

Now I don't have any kids, but I was wondering if you have any reasonably priced gyms in your area. If you do, a lot of them have a "daycare" system set up for just the kind of situation you are talking about. Once I was watching my sister in law's girls and I took them to the gym with me. They had a great time with the…

I hate food pushers!! Doctor's offices are the worst!! We always have food brought in from somewhere for lunch. Or we have to work through lunch and our docs will order pizza for us. It's very thoughtful of them, but not good for my hips at all. I try to bring my lunch everyday and smile and say "no thanks" when offered…

I don't know if this one has been posted, but you know you're losing weight when someone who hasn't seen you in a few months says "OMG you have lost so much weight!"

I have been struggling with this as well. I think that in my case, I tend to think of weekends as my time off for good behavior during the week. The only problem with that is that I can undo my weekly progress in one weekend if I'm not careful. One thing to combat weekend binges (so to speak) I have found is to set your…

Thanks FG37167!! Congrats on your weight loss and I hope you reach your august goal. You give me hope that I can kick this once and for all!:flowerforyou:

I have heard this about morning workouts, however, I am not sure that there are any scientific facts to back it up. I do know that personally I am able to give more to my workouts in the morning. It's like giving the best of yourself to yourself before anybody else gets a piece of your energy. I see better results with a…

I have about 120 pounds to lose. My high weight was 273 and now I weigh about 245. I'm up a little bit from 241 due to some recent bad behavior, but I want to stop it before it all comes back. Count me in for the motivation!!!:flowerforyou:

Thanks for all your supportive comments. It really helps to have people who understand what you are going through!! I peeked at the scale and it says that I have gained seven pounds. I agree that most of it is probably water and will disappear on it's own. I really only had about 4 days of badness. I was really nervous and…

Also, if you are looking for fast food information, you can go to www.dwlz.com. It is from a lady who uses weight watchers, but she posts the calorie/fat/carbs/sodium for a lot of foods under her restaurants tab. I can even get it through my blackberry and before I order at a place I will discreetly check to see what is…

I agree with what others have said. 20 pounds is not worth the sleepless nights, general twitchiness and dry mouth that go along with these pills. I started counting calories in Jan at 273 and I am down to 241 this morning. Do it right!!

I am a nurse and I work with GI doctors doing colonoscopy and endoscopy daily. There is NO build up in your colon. You are not going to lose 10-20 pounds, and in some cases you can get a pretty nasty colitis from it. Don't do it!!!! Believe me, if it were of any health benefit, we would do it at our office and charge your…

It is just more intense in my opinion. You are bouncing on your toes like a boxer the whole time and you use the remote and nunchuck together to create different combinations. For example you may have a jab then cross then uppercut then dodge left. It is a really detailed boxing workout. It does leave you sore for…

I have also done this. It is a great workout. Even my hubby (who is in pretty good shape) sweats with this one. Just the different settings on the game and the fact that they will prepare the workout for you is neat. I also have my fitness coach, but I don't like it as much as the gold's gym or the wii fit.

 i wish you luck. that dvd almost did me in.

your scrubs for work are so big you look like you escaped from a mental institution. It's time to go shopping.

Making the cut is supposed to be for those trying to lose 10-20 pounds from what I understand. Winning by losing is for people who need to lose more than that and master your metabolism is her first diet book that talks all about eating healthy. As you can tell I am a fan of jillian. I have all her books. Before you go out…

The greatest failure is when you give up not knowing how close you are to achieving your goal. I've almost given up 1,000 times, but what if this is the time when I can get it right and I miss my chance because I quit. Take a day or a couple of days off and maintain, but don't ever quit.

i've only had mine for about a week but I love it!! If you are not sure about the fit board yet, just get the Gold's Gym cardio workout. It really burns a lot of cals and you just need the remote and nunchuck. For about 45 min, i burn about 400 cals. since i like boxing, it is fun and it doesn't really feel like a workout.…

Like many of you, I have a hard time eating right at family get togethers. Well this weekend, I was home visiting the homestead for mother's day and I have successfully avoided the major pitfalls. I usually don't make a fuss about my weight loss efforts with family, but this time I spoke up. I even inspired my grandma to…

I wouldn't do it for regular exercise, but it would be great for those days when I dread going to the gym. I burned 124 calories (15min) according to my HRM without really feeling like I was exercising too hard. I especially liked the jogging module where the scenery changed as you go. I could jog longer there than I can…

I agree with LostinCali. We that comfort ourselves with food have to find new ways to deal. I had a bad day yesterday as well. It seemed like the devil was sitting on my shoulder telling me to EAT!! It was a tough internal struggle to bypass going to a drive through on my way home, but I did. I ranted to my hubby until I…

Count me in with the sugar obsession. After I went on the Atkins diet, it grew to epic proportions. I have no idea how to control it. Some days I just let the beast have its way and I try not to go over my maintenence calories. Im interested to see what advice people have to give about this.
