I typically work out in the evenings right before dinner time, so I often will have fish, either salmon or tilapia and roasted veggies. Brown rice or quinoa or couscous if you like them.

I agree with mamapeach... I get pretty hungry these times of the day as well. I do something protein rich, either a bar, peanut butter with a banana or apple, hummus, greek yogurt, granola, nuts or string cheese.

It's easy to fall off track... I lost and maintained a weight I was happy with for a long time. However, stress and the pressures of life have gotten me off track lately, and I've gained about 10 pounds back....so what I'm saying is, I know how you feel. It's really discouraging, but I just keep telling myself to keep…

That happens to me alll the time. Sometimes people don't realize that healthy can be delicious, and they are shocked that a salad looks so good.

when you are hungry. I personally eat every 2 or 3 hours. If you aren't hungry, then don't eat. However, if you are hungry, I think you should eat at least a little something. If you are too preoccupied with timing or if you let yourself get too hungry, it may lead to over eating.

i love people like you who pass judgement and then say "not judging".

Baked oatmeal. I swear by it, since there are just about infinite variations you can use to make it exactly how you like it. Literally endless possibilities. Try searching the web (esp. Pinterest) for ideas. The kinds that I usually make come in about 260 calories and are very filling. I make a big batch and divide into…

Log it into the recipe builder. MFP will tell you.

However, I asked my husband what he thought and he said, "You just look too smart and high maintenance. Guys probably think you're either going to reject them or make them spend all of their money before they can get into your pants." You got your answer right there...from a MAN....men have said similar things to me,…

First of all congratulations on your achievement so far! I second what dianne says, MFP already sets a calorie deficit into your daily goals which will cause weight loss (if properly adhered to). Assuming you are logging accurately then the calories you burn from excersise ADD to that deficit. Whether or not you eat them…

When I was that age I wanted to eat nothing but waffles. You are very lucky that he eats that well. I would not be too worried, he is just a kid and is otherwise getting good nutrition. If you punish him over this issue, you might bring on bigger problems.

Hello! When I started out, I was very similar to you. 5'4 and 150 ish. I do not agree with the 1000 calories a day thing... That would definitely not be enough for me! Especially if you are exercising that much. I am down to 120 lbs now. I had my MFP calculate me to be at 1200 calories a day, which I usually stuck to. But…

I definitely agree with the comment about confidence! I have always been an outgoing and confident person so I am used to people (esp. men) approaching me. But now that I am at goal, I am that much more confident and I know that confidence radiates out of you. Men notice it.

Some people just love to complain! personally I would just listen and nod, then politely ignore. You have already tried to help and she doesn't really want your help. No need to get yourself worked up about it.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I like rage against the machine when I work out, especially when running. Makes me feel like a bad *kitten*.

if you eat at a surplus you will gain weight instead of maintaining it.

I wish I could shove as much food as I want in my mouth everyday and look like a supermodel.
-
yes... I suppose that's possible...What kind of sick are we talking about here? Like, a cold? It might be a germ issue. Tons of people are using the gym equipment everyday so its easy to spread viruses. Wash your hands after using equipment, spray it down after use as well to prevent spreading germs.

To answer your question, yes, caffeine is addictive. Personally I love coffee. My life would not go on without it. I do not drink soda at all and rarely will have tea so I do not consume caffeine elsewhere in my diet. I limit myself (usually) to one cup a day, every now and again 2 if I really need it. Basically my point…

If someone dumps you because you gained weight, hes a total douche nugget. Forget about him. I know it stings, I do. But clearly doesn't care about you and is superficial and NO one deserves that. You deserve much better. First and foremost, someone who loves you for you!

Curious question: Is there a reason you don't log your food? That's the whole reason why I use this site. You say you were always starving, you likely weren't eating enough to sustain your activity level. I will say, as someone who logs everything I eat, this feeling hits me sometimes too. Our routines sound are strikingly…
