good for you too. I was at work a couple weeks ago and had to move something heavy, for the first time since I can remember every one looked at someone else and said "Mel your a big guy can you move this" My name is Mark and for the first time someone else was the big guy. :-)

Congratulations. The first 15 is the biggest it means you've started! So again congratulations! I was in a similar spot 5'11" and approximately 300 Lbs. when I told people I wanted to get under 200 they said I was crazy. (" I was a big guy and not supposed to be that small I would look anorexic" ). Now at 185 and feeling…

Not that easy. By dropping bread and pasta it cut out the two foods I ate way too much of so it helped a lot. If it helps you change your diet good luck.

welcome. I think you will like it here, as you said it is diverse. I've had great success here I'm down 120 Lbs and have about 20 Lbs to go. I'm taking it slow now being more concerned with nutrition than weight loss. Add me if you like I log every day but do not live on the site, as you said very busy day and no access.

Best wishes on the surgery. I hope all goes better than expected.

I like the cleaner life style approach. But I think to really get going you have to increase activity. Two years is a long time to stick with it, so it says you have the ability to stick with a life style for a while. Add me if you like we can motivate each other to keep moving. it's hard to stay active in August :-(

Yea it's easy to over simplify this stuff. There are as many study's for as against most of the theories I've read. It's all how you interpret the information, so it's even more important to step back and not over simplify it.
-
congratulations, you look great. But did you say fifth. well then congratulations again.

I agree with the rest who say you should give it more time. I think a month.

Every thing. I loved everything that was pit in front of me. and enjoyed it all until it was gone.

awesome.

I agree, Also calories in a given food are an estimate, and your portion size is an estimate. Your activity level is an estimate. if you can't comfortably lower your calorie intake you have to increase your activity. I find it easier to lower calories and increase activity so neither one is too much to handle.

B U T T E R Your rite, can't be thanks giving with out Butter. take a break and enjoy special days when all your special people are around. You have the rest of the year to worry about it.

I have to agree I've been seeing more and more information linking sugars to plaque build up and questioning the rolls of fat on Plaque build up. I think it is safe to say there are still open questions and a healthy debate.

Andy Dufresne, how is the skinny life in Mexico treating you? :-)

The idea to low carbs is to regulate insulin so you don't drop into low blood sugar. It takes a week or two to even out. You may need to drink extra water durring this time. Dehydration can be a nasty side affect.

yuk! my wife used to buy those. I hate them.
