Excellent job, Alan!! You must be feeling so much better! Did your wife lose, too? It's great when they're supportive, huh? Congratulations on your hard work.

That doesn't make any sense. I realize that I didn't add that my sister only ate between 1200 to 1300 calories a day. She just chose not to make healthier/cleaner choices. And she didn't exercise on a consistent basis. I ate 1400 to 1600 cals a day - but only clean eating. And I exercised. My point is/was...you can lose…

While others are saying you can lose weight without exercising I will throw this out there just for sh**s and giggles: My sister and I started on the same day, with approximately the same amount of weight to lose (120 lbs). She chose to be more lenient in her food choices and she chose not to exercise consistently. In 10…

Awesome job!! I see your chin now!!!! Keep up the fantastic work. -Laura

I once ate an entire box of brown sugar poptarts...after I microwaved them and put a 1/2 a stick of butter on each poptart. Haven't smoked in 13 days...which I guess I should be proud of...but I'm not. I'm irritated and annoyed by all the congratulatory pats on the back. I just wanna scream *kitten* off to everyone and…

Ahhh...okay. Gotcha. See, I'm the opposite. When I eat mine back I start gaining.
-
Congratulations!! That is a huge accomplishment! Keep up the great work.
-
Oh, man. So much this. When I eat my exercise cals back I gain instantly.

I saw someone from high school that I had not seen in probably five years. He did not recognize me and thought my husband had remarried. It was hilarious and uplifting. It came at the perfect time because I was losing steam and starting to fall off track. I love the NSVs way more than the scale victories.

Accurate.

I wish I had not taken advice from strangers, friends or family. My body is different from everyone else's and it responds differently to cardio, weight lifting and different foods. I learned that I have to do things the way that is best for my health and fitness.

SMOKING HOT!!! Great work. You look amazeballs.

I started my fitness journey weighing in at 265 lbs at 5'2. I started running using the C25k app and I ran my first 1/2 marathon in October of 2014 with a finish time of 2:39. I currently weigh 193 as of this morning. I fell off track for a little while after the 1/2 marathon because I felt like I 'deserved' a break from…

Yay!! Congratulations. I love NSVs...especially when the scale isn't moving. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely amazing work! Virtual fist bump for you. Keep it up!

I don't consistently lose weight unless I am eating less than 1,600 calories. I exercise 5-7 days a week for about 45 minutes to an hour and 1/2. I am one of those 'cardio maniacs' that everyone hates. I love cardio and I am still in weight loss mode, therefore I do lots of cardio. I am one of those women who really do…

I'm 5'2. In the beginning I set my calories at 1300. After I lost the first 100 lbs I changed my goals a little and added lifting to my running schedule. I eat around 1500-1700 now.

Love this. I ran a track this morning at the gym and it felt so awkward. I miss running outside and I loathe winter. Great blog! -India

Amazon has cheap HRM for sale if changing the battery doesn't work.
-
Silly question...have you replaced the battery? That might help.

Both of your transformations are stunning! Beautiful!

This is so great!!! I had Taco Bell (my guilty pleasure) on a road trip this past summer and I immediately was so swollen I had to change into fat pants. I haven't had fast food since July. My NSV last night is a big one for me. I am a chocolate "addict". When I get around it - it's like a drug for me. I bought my kids a…

I don't eat my exercise calories back so I didn't really mind what MFP was telling me for calories burned. After I bought a heart rate monitor when my weight loss plateaued - I discovered that MFP was WAY off (they tend to overestimate). Knowing how many calories I burn (accurately) helps me push myself harder during my…

I stayed with the MFP calorie suggestions but on long run days I ate my exercise calories back. You didn't ask this but I could not do HM training AND strength training at the same time. Physically and mentally I could not handle both at the same time. Good luck!! -India

I made it through the first round and then two weeks of the second round. I promise that the first round gets easier as you go. Take rest days when your body tells you to. (For instance...I hated Cardio Recovery so I would take a total rest day on that day.) I made it through only two weeks of the second round and realized…

That is so exciting!! Great work. Have you had the pleasure of shopping in the "normal" sized clothes yet? If not - that's another great NSV. Keep up the great work. -India

I needed this whole thread this morning. Thank you for making me literally laugh out loud.

December pee-cardio challenge sign up starts today.

I have a Polar FT4 HRM that comes with a chest strap. I love it. I use other aps for tracking my miles when I go for long runs so I don't need GPS, step trackers and I don't need to know how many calories I burn while I sleep. If you're looking for straight calories burned during a workout (cardio) Polars are affordable…

You seriously look 15 years younger. Excellent job on improving your marathon time! I just did my first 1/2 and it was brutal. You marathoners are truly amazing to me. -India
