Have been using advocare for 75 days and have lost 28 lbs. After the first 24 day challenge I have just been doing the MNS3 vitamin packs & Catalyst and thermo. I started using O2Gold before my runs and the progress has been incredible! I am not selling nor did I get scammed into this. I signed up in my own...yes, it's…

Wishing you the BEST in your first TRI!!! Speaking for crazy older people....I am planning my ultimate fitness goal (70.3) for my 50th birthday. Lucky for me, I still have 2 years to get ready :)) I did my very first TRI for my 40th birthday in 2006- have done several sprint and one olympic distant since then. BUT...I am…

This is what support looks like ^^^. It is dangerous to compare your 'willpower' to his. Maybe you CAN just eat a cup of noodles and be done. But if he can't- then they shouldn't be an option at the meal table. Here's the deal. And I know this because I have seen my parents fall prey to diabetes. You can preach. And you…

Story of my life!!! Ya just gotta get that "mind set" back..Drink lots of water. I mean LOTS! You'll dump half that automatically; but still, it is important to GET BACK ON..today. :)) Good luck!

Totally ^^

So..yeah. I think you've done great losing what you have lost!! Congratulations. I am 5'4 also and I'll tell you a story.... Back in the day, I once weighed 118 pound & wore size 8 pants. But I was jiggly. Long story short...I fell in love with the gym (or maybe I just didn't have a life). But anyways I found myself…

Logical as it may seem....applying it IS one of the most challenging things. Yes..SUCK IT UP and stick to YOUR plan makes total sense. And perhaps, this is my own pitfall in the journey back to pre-pregnancy weight (my son will be 10 next month). I will say that this was all WAY easier when I was single. And bit easier…

Everyone's journey is different & they achieve success on different paths. You should do what you feel like you need to do for yourself and let him do what he feels like he needs to do. You are both adults capable of making your own decisions. If he doesn't lose weight- that's on him. He'll find his mojo somehow- if HE…

Great wisdom already spoken ^^^. My encouragement to you is to not worry about how you look...but focus on how you FEEL! This is YOUR race. I am a larger kinda gal and found a one piece tri suit that I like to wear. I have had it for 7 years now and it is showing it's age. But well worth the investmen! Being self concious…

I really like the way this person explained it!! I am heavy-and tend to wear my shoes out quicker than a lighter person wearing the same shoes. And if you are upping your mileage, it becomes even more important to pay attention----speaking for myself who has , out of the blue, developed a case of shin splints KNOWING that…

Chiming in on the home workout/video/YouTube stuff.....don't worry if you can't do it all- just do what you can. Modify the workout until you get strong enough to do the whole thing. Using the balance ball is a great idea! I totally get your situation as we cared for my MIL in our home for 7 years & were plenty of times…

I love cold weather running & find that my I feel better during my runs than when it is warm. As for afterwards....a long, hot shower followed by warm clothes. That's about the only way I get warm after a long run in cold weather. Keep up the great work! Your slower pace may have to do with increased mileage :) Which is…

I am a heavy runner....and have found the Jeff Galloway method the best way for me to maintain regular runs without injury & with the most enjoyment. It's a walk/run method- This morning I did 3 miles. Ran 1:15/Walked 1:00. Some days we do 1:00/:45 others we do 1:30/1:00 and when we do long runs we do 1:00/1:00. I would…

I always, always ALWAYS, wear a bike helmet. I have inadvertently latched my fingers over the front brakes going downhill....long story- but regardless, I cracked my helmet. Could've been my head. I don't care who you are, or how long you've been riding. Accidents happen. And they are called accidents cause they are not on…

Holy Cow! That looks delicious!! We have been trying different recipes for low carb pizza. The tofu crust just wasn't for us. Definitely going to try this one! Thanks for sharing Aggie!

Personally....I prefer open water swims. I have yet to sign up for an event where the swim was in a pool, because the swim was in a pool. Perhaps I should try it. Are there any advantages to be had? It just seems that turning at the wall, every 25yd/m interferes with focus and keeps a swimmer (or at least me) from really…

I am training for a 1/2 marathon in May and an Olympic distance Triathlon in June. An Olympic distance Triathlon in September and a half marathon in October. There will be several long distance bike rides in between those with a century in August. Running is my weakest discipline...and my hinderence to 70.3. So that is my…

Is exercising a main part of your weight loss program? If not, that might be something to consider adding. Not only does it help you feel firmer (cause it does firm you up) but it also produces endorphins that just make you feel good. Also agreeing with others that it is dangerous to compare yourself to other people.

0.0 ! LOL!!

Got my 13.1 sticker at the race expo & slapped it on my Yak Rak windguard as soon as I was done!! Can't wait to slap a 70.3 on there :) Who cares what others think about stickers. I say get him one!

You have gotten a lot of great information from others. The only thing I would add if it hasn't already been said, is proper nutrition and hydration on longer runs. Taking something to eat 60-90 minutes into your longer runs will help sustain you until the end. There are many options out there. I choose sport gels and in…

I agree with other others....when you are working out that much, you need more than 1200 calories a day. It is easy to be discouraged and therefore sometimes necessitates that the focus not be on the scales but on how much better you feel with the exercising and eathing healthy. As for losing the will to live. If that…

Interesting question! As a person who has engaged in endurance sports for over 10 years, I really struggle with dropping pounds. It is not unusual for me to burn over 1000 calories in a day...long bike ride or run. I eat along the way to keep the energy to keep going; but I cannot seem to lose weight!! I knwo I am not…

Yup :) But really know they will be easier with 45 less pounds to haul up the hills! Love to tri..have only done 2 but have 2 on the agenda for this year; both Olympic distance. I am new to myfitnesspal so I am looking forward to finding my way around. Yours is the first post I saw. Cycling is my passion. I love to swim.…
