Don't go to the gym sick. Everyone there will appreciate it! As others have said, rest, get well, then go back to working out. You are not doing yourself any favors by putting more stress on your body while it is sick.

Totally normal. Weigh in the morning.

Yes. The first couple weeks it was tough for me to get accustomed to eating at a deficit to lose weight.

I have seen no loss on the scale in September, though I have dropped another belt loop on my belt. If you are weight lifting sometimes the scale is going to move a lot slower than if you are just eating less and tracking calories. Last year at this time before I went back to my bad eating habits, I lost weight a lot…

I quit trying to convince myself I was a morning person. I started going at my lunch break at work.

Easiest approach right there. I was really high on sodium as well. I switched up a couple things that were really high and brought mine down to decent levels. Cheese, lunch meat, and surprisingly cottage cheese, I found were really the back breakers in my low sodium search and I have tried to find low sodium alternatives…

Get fat. Become a gym rat and workout enough to burn at minimum 2000 cals a day while I am there. Seriously, looking back at how I was eating before logging my calories, I don't even know if the 2000 cals in the gym a day would cut it. People who counted cals prior to having smart phones and calorie counting apps had to…

Have you asked your wife this? That would be where I would start. I personally don't think you are, but I go 7 days a week for around 45 minutes a day, and I am not your wife. So maybe ask her if she minds you being in the gym for the time you are there. Good luck!

I would let your personal trainer know what your goals are and see what they recommend. I personally like to head over to bodybuilding.com/ bodyspace. You can actually set up a program that has your goals in mind. If you goal is to run a faster 10k, maybe check out a runners forum and see what they recommend. I like the…

Sounds like you need a week off for rest. If you have been hitting it hard for 10 months without a rest your body is probably just tired. Try doing less for a week, and then hitting it hard again the following week.

Last week there was a lady at the gym who had a foot injury. She was wearing a brace that went up to her knee, and it acted as a prosthetic foot. Her leg was kneeling into it. Looked odd, but she got around fine on it. Maybe ask you pt about one of those devices for when you hit the gym so you don't have to bring the…

Eating out. You are trusting someone else to count and weigh what you eat. It will also save you a lot of money and will ultimately get you to learn to cook and plan your meals better. This will make the greatest long term impact for continued weight loss in my opinion.

Go hit the gym and spend an hour doing some cardio, that should net you an extra 5 to 600 calories. Then go splurge a little. You still will get more calories, and you will feel better because you earned them.

I use the fitbit for motivation, MFP to count calories. I found the same thing, it was giving me way to many calories a day. I unlinked my fitbit.
-
The easiest way that I have kept myself motivated when I would have a day like this is for me to realize that this is a long term goal, with short term setbacks. Don't let one day stop you. Or even 2 days. If you quit again, next year you are going to be saying to yourself, "I need to lose weight, I need to get back on…

I only do mine 2 times a week. You muscles need time to recover. 3 days rest is my normal for squats.
-
As others on here have said, if it is working for you go ahead and keep doing it. I would recommend buying a cheap food scale though. Weigh things that have a lot of calories in them. Get yourself some little dishes that hold condiments. Peanut butter, mayo, dressings, etc. Weigh your meats that you eat as well. Start…

You do understand that the entire premise of this site and eating program totally revolves around counting calories right? If you are not going to use the advice and the protocols for counting calories on a calorie counting forum/program, what kind of advice are you looking for?

I am a big guy, I was in a motorcycle wreck and it tore up my left knee. I had surgery and to make a long story short I walk fine now. However, at my current weight running is not an option. If you are going to a gym, hit up the elliptical, it does not have the jarring that you get when you run and it is still a good…

Counting calories is much more than just winging it. If you are not weighing your food, you are sabotaging you success. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVjWPclrWVY&feature=youtu.be Watch this video, simple, informative, with terrible music.

You have got to treat it like prison. Go in, find the biggest, ugliest, meanest guy there and whoop his *kitten*. After that it gets easier.
-
It is going to be hard to see any real significant strength gains once you plateau while eating in a deficit.
-
Slow loser here also. I weigh everything, eat below maintenance, don't cheat, and I lose weight extremely slowly. It might have something to do with all the weight training I am doing, but my weight this time around has been stubborn to drop. Add me if you want to. I don't plan on giving up until I reach my goal, it is…

I started with 4 but my new program has me in the gym 7 days a week. 2 days are only cardio though.

Use the gym staff. Get a body assessment. All the people walking around with staff shirts on, they are there to work. If you have questions about a machine, find one of them and ask. I have been in and out of gyms for the past 20 years and just today I asked for assistance on watching my dead lift form. It had been awhile…

3 to 5 pounds is normal for me from morning to night. I try to weigh myself once a week. Usually on Monday morning. Right out of the shower.
-
I never log my lifting cals. Only the cardio time.
-
As others have said, you really can not spot reduce. People who have 6 pack abs generally have very low body fat percentages. 15 percent and lower. My fitness pal is a great forum for losing weight. However, maybe you should check out some other forums as well. I like the bodybuilding.com website. Find a workout plan that…

Congrats man! Keep working hard to keep it off. You are on a roll, no need to stop now!

Saturday and Sunday I go in the morning. Monday through Friday I go during my lunch break.
