This is exactly what I meant, thanks! Obviously, I understand that eating more calories than you burn leads to weight gain, I think many folks in this thread didn't realize that (my bad for not being clearer in my original question).

I've been eating until I'm satisfied. I've felt full all day with almost no hunger or cravings, and figured there was no reason to force myself to eat more if my body isn't telling me I should.

I told MFP I wanted to lose 2 pounds per week. I set the TDEE calculaor at -25%.

The TDEE calculator I used had options under "activity-level" that included how much you exercise each week, but it also had one for "sit at a desk all day". When I selected that one it still had me at the 2,300/day mark.

I'm a sucker for ice cream, and it sounds like you are as well. Every week I buy these Great Value ice cream cups. They come in vanilla and chocolate, and only have 100 calories. It's actually good ice cream, and it's portion controlled! I leave calories each night for it, and it's my daily sweet.

I travel a lot for work, and this doesn't need to be as hard as it seems. I typically pack some snacks that I know I like and that will keep me satisfied.
