  • Me too! Used to be VERY active. Black belt in karate, fitness instructor ... sigh... 2 surgeries later, new job and graduate school I have gained 35 lbs in the last 3 years and find myself totally sedintary. I have been on and off MFP but hope to use it now for accountability and to start loosing some of this weight. I…
  • Add me. I am looking for friends who will actively post and comment. It makes this journey a lil bit better. I am a busy mom who works and is in grad school my time is tight but I am setting small goals to get going.
  • Do you log your weight loss on the Fitbit site as well? Just curious about getting it to be more accurate. I have a charge.

  • Add me! I am just getting started again. I have been very active all of my life but had a surgery and started grad school and have let myself go big time. I need some motivation and love to meet new people.
  • Add me! I am a busy mom in graduate school and have let myself go. I used to be super active but after a surgery and then starting grad school have become more sedentary than I have ever been. Need to get back to my normal self and need some "friends" to help :)
  • Hi! - I just came back to MFP after a long break and need to loose 25 lbs but starting with a goal of just 10 for now. Add me as a friend!
  • The avocado egg salad is my all time favorite! Just sayin ;)
  • I had a partial hysterectomy 2 wks ago to remove multiple fibroids - a 2.5 lb tumor right on my uterine artery. Because of the artery we decided against myomectomy but instead chose a supracervical hyst keeping my cervix, both ovaries and fallopian tubes. Already I am feeling more energy as that large fibroid was sucking…
  • Bio-identical hormones. Not the horse hormones. The key is to find a practitioner who doesn't want to just fix your perimenopausal problems but actually restore your hormones to an ideal level. It is a lot of work. I started 6 months ago - just now starting to feel like myself again. Good luck!
  • Hi - I'm on month 4 of BIHRT. Do you have a doc or practitioner who prescribes bio-identicals regularly? I hope you can find someone familiar with bio-identicals because they can help so much. Even though your thyroid may be in the normal range, low normal is not optimal. Also be sure that your doc checks your T3 levels.…
  • Hi - so glad to have found this group! I am 44. About 2 years ago had to have two big knee surgeries that just left me totally wiped out. My dr. thinks that my body tried to overcompensate and it just threw me into hormone flux. Thyroid got shot - I am hypo but not Hashimotos. I just upped my thyroid (taking Armour) and am…
  • Good to find this thread! I have just upped my armour thyroid dose - I am hypo but not Hashimotos - and missed my period. Has anyone else had this problem (btw - I am NOT pregnant :) Also does anyone else use bio-identicals with Thyroid. I am trying to navigate this new stage in my life and would really like to find some…
  • I'm 44 - I need to shed 13lbs. Feel free to add me :)
  • Hello all - just started stage 3 this week. Mon did 3A and today 3B. Due to vacations, illness and general summer chaos I took a much longer break between stage 2 and 3 so I had to drop down in weight some but I really am liking stage 3 so far. I dropped to only 3 lbs for those YTWL's but I figured form was more important…

  • Starting Stage 3 tomorrow. Because of summer vacation and traveling I will have had a full 2 weeks off rather than the 1 week. I am a little confused as to the weights that I will start with. We shall see. Looking forward to that body weight matrix!!

  • I am interested in this too - although I am no where near the end ;)
  • This is just what I take: Multi vit Chewable C B Complex D3 - 5,000 IU (this is high because I live in the dark Pacific Northwest and the single best thing I take) Cal/Mag Fish Oil Flax/Oil of Evening Primrose I have some friends who mock my vitamins but I feel great and can totally feel the difference from before. Good…
  • Your numbers are badass! Love that you were doing more weight than the big guy - excellent!!! Were you doing 25lbs in EACH hand for the cuban snatch??? I actually went down in weight for that one just to make sure I was getting full range of motion - with the heavier weight I was was not getting as good of form and using…

  • I wonder about that too. I think the height in the split squat makes a difference also. I was never quite able to get my foot right in the split squat. I would lose my balance when it was upside down and flat. I am finishing stage 2 today but I think that I may do another week of it so that my off week will coincide with…

  • I do a few back squats as a warm-up before I do the FSPP. I don't use all the weight I used to do and I have wondered about that - but I really like the FSPP - even though I struggle with it at times. It really works all of the body and with all of the leg work in stage 2 I really think my squat form has gotten so much…
  • I'm from the Eugene area. Good to see more local people. Feel free to add me as a friend :)
  • I have lower back problems at times so I rest the bar on the lowest squat rack position. This puts the bar just about the same hight that it would be if I had a 45# plate on each end. For stage 2 I have just continued the modified version rather than lower as the book suggests.

  • You know I am right there with you. Weighed myself and have now gained back everything I have lost. Uggg - I am determined to just move forward though. We can do it :)
  • Just started stage 2 this week and have only done the 1st workout but I was surprised how all over the place I was with weights. That squat push press was great... went from squatting 100+ lbs in stage 1 to struggling with the empty universal bar. I only used 5lb dumbbells for the one-point-rows and could not for the life…
  • Ditto the suggestions on the gloves. I still get callouses if I don't remember to remove my rings though.
  • Great thread - Does anyone use the BodyMedia Link with an iPhone4S? I would like to see stats on my phone but have read mixed reviews that it would even work with a 4S.
  • ^^ I am saving up for the bodymedia right now. Amazon has it on sale. I would really like to get a better idea of what my body is actually burning cal wise as I have a sneaky suspicion that at 43 my metabolism has declined and I am tired of all of the guess work.
  • Beeps and Jessica - I love INXS for the 80's workout music! - and Maroon 5 has been my longtime love - But currently I really like listening to PitBull - don't tell my teens - they would be appalled lol! Also re Beeps last post - I really think that everyone's body is different. Some people will gain definition and lose…
