  • That's an incredible NSV!! I find myself frequently in the same position. I get so excited to start a new program, and then I take a rest day, never get going again, and never finish it. So good for you! That's terrific! :drinker:
  • Bump - I'd like to see progress pics! Thinking of getting this program.
  • I use the Nike + running app, and you can add different shoes into it. After a run it tells you your distance/time/pace/calories/etc., and you're able to attach a shoe to that run. So you can keep track of mileage on different shoes at the same time on one app. I love it!
  • I'm doing Ripped in 30 right now. I think it's slightly more difficult than 30DS, but you will see a lot of the same moves. I'm really enjoying it, and have lost 2lbs so far (haven't taken measurements yet).
  • I'm the exact same. I love omelettes but can't flip them to save my life. They always look like scrambled eggs in the end. my bf made me an omelette one day and that totally pushed me over the edge. Otherwise, I'd say 3rd or 4th date, either a light/simple pasta dish, or a steak! It really is the effort that we appreciate…
  • lol I loved this entire story. I've been in very similar positions so I could totally relate to everything you were saying. Your dress is gorgeous and you look absolutely beautiful in it! I'm glad you bought it (and as a person who is financially strapped) I'm so thrilled for you that it was on sale!!!
  • I JUST finished reading this and was also about to post it in the forums!
  • I like running, but in this weather it's hard to be motivated and keep going out. So like the above poster said, I sign up for a race. My money is spent and gone, and I'm not so rich that I can afford to let it go to waste! Plus I like the finisher's medals. Knowing that I have a half marathon coming up, and that I can't…
  • I have the Samsung Galaxy S3, and it doesn't properly fit the armband I used to have for my iPod Touch. I was looking at getting this one from the Running Room: http://ca.shop.runningroom.com/accessories/armbands-waist-pouches/ironman-universal-armband-20010.html Not sure that it does fit the Galaxy though.
  • I did my first half marathon last October, and I've signed up for the same race this coming October! Feel free to add me for running support! There are a lot of great tips here, and I don't really have anything new to add, so I'm just going to reiterate the ones I really wish had been stressed to me prior to the race. 1.…
  • Looking great! Sorry about the Leafs though :flowerforyou:
  • LOL I'm betting any non-horsey people that read that title are going "so what?" But I couldn't tell you the last time I mounted my horse from the ground... But he's 16.2hh. And not patient while I struggle just to lift my foot that high into the stirrup. Congrats though!
  • LOL those are some of the best tips for running a race ever. They aren't joking either... seriously, bathrooms RIGHT AWAY. Otherwise you're waiting for 20 minutes after the race has already started.
  • My friend bugging me for 4 months about running, and then she found the "perfect race for us" - The Chocolate Race. She was right though! It was perfect. Chocolate stations along with water stations!
  • I would keep it the same. When Shawn T says "recovery", it's not what you'd normally think of. It's by no means easy - you'll still be working hard. I had a similar question when I was approaching my recovery week and someone said to me, "Don't let the term "recovery" fool you. It is Shaun T's way of torturing you at a…
  • Your numbers sound very similar to what I get on mine when I go running or do Insanity. Depending on how dig I deep, I burn between 400-450 for the first month's workouts. I typically burn just over 100 during the warm-up alone! So for a 10 minute HIIT, your numbers seem right. And just for comparison's sake, I use a Polar…
  • I'm starting month 2. Anyone can feel free to add me!
  • I just did my first half marathon in October, and it's a pretty great feeling knowing you just ran 21.1km. Not a lot of people can do that! My advice is to get shoes that are fitted to you, and pay the extra money for a good pair. They're worth their weight in gold. I also really like the Nike + app, as it keeps track of…
  • Labrada Lean Body - I mix it with milk so the calorie count is a little higher, but it has 51g of protein, and tastes like chocolate ice cream. Well melted chocolate ice cream. I've heard the vanilla flavour is really good too, but I can't personally vouch for it.
  • I know what you mean! After the first two days, I couldn't walk - it felt like my calf muscles had been ripped in half. I ended up just going slower, and did the first two weeks of the schedule over 3 weeks. Now I get the sore "I worked out" muscles, but no enduring pain. It does get better!
  • Happy Birthday!! And amazing work! You look terrific!
  • I'm just finishing off week 3 of month 1. I actually love the workouts. They're incredibly challenging, but not too bad if you go at your own pace and push yourself when you know you can. I was so sore after the first 3 workouts though, that I needed extra rest days. So I ended up doing the first 2 weeks in the schedule…
  • This made me both laugh and groan. You're right, I should've known by now that any workout with Shaun T is going to be a difficult one. Thanks everyone!
  • I'm starting week 3 of Insanity, and haven't seen any change on the scale yet, or in my measurements. I have noticed a difference in my strength and stamina! I took 3 weeks though to complete the first first 2 weeks of the schedule - took some time to get used to everything! I keep reading that most of the results come in…
  • This makes me feel a bit better. I ride horses and run, and have always considered my leg muscles relatively strong. And here's Insanity practically crippling me! I'm glad I'm not alone in this!
  • That's probably exactly what my problem is. I hate drinking water and have to pretty much force myself to drink it. I barely make my 8 glasses day, and I guess with this program a lot more would be highly beneficial. Thanks
  • Personally, definitely cremation. But talk to your vet about what other options are available. I worked at a vet clinic, and the company we used to cremate or dispose of euthanized pets, had a whole brochure that had different creative ideas to remember your pet by. One idea was taking a clay paw print of your pet. You…
