  • When I first started I used to log around 3 hours of housework as I do 6 hour shifts as a maid. I didnt want to underestimate what I burned. So instead of logging 360, 180 minutes seemed more reasonable. But Ive stopped logging altogether as I'll never know for sure what I burn so I just eat at 1200 - 1500 and keep it…
  • I had chinese takeout on Sunday and have just hit my lowest weight. :-) Everything in moderation!
  • Excellent man. Wish I had seen this a few years ago. :-)
  • Fizzy juice is bad for you, but not carbonated water. All that has added to it is a little gas. No extra fat or sugars like Sodas such as Coke, Irn Bru, etc.
  • Oh I know that feeling. My stomach burns a lot thesedays and I can't even tell where it is exactly. Is it my stomach? Is it my abdomen? Am I hungry or just sore? Why would I be sore? Am I constipated? When the HELL did I last go? Etc etc. I have no idea what hungry feels like at the moment, myself. I get sugar cravings at…
  • Im having no luck, myself. My analog scales say I'm 107lbs, but then when I step off of them the dial isn't zero'd properly. So I can't rely on them. And my brand new digital scales say I'm anything from 110-123lbs depending on where it is on the floor! I forgot to weigh in at the Doctors and my Local Sport centre…
  • I am so glad to see this. I go every 3 or so days, and its been worrying me. I used to be every morning at least, but now the more the days go on, the more I feel I'm carrying around yesterdays meals! Every time I go to the toilet I lose a noticeable amount on the scale. Even if its only a fraction of a lb I see the…

  • Oh my word the opposite has just happened to me! Bought trainers at 9 stone in April. After my first 6lbs they were loose around the ankles and chafed something awful! I now have big blisters on both ankles. Proud of my wee weight loss injury! haha
  • I genuinely used to find not eating at ALL much much easier than dieting. And I say that whole heartedly. If I " dieted " I would have stomach cramps and be awake all night thinking about food. The hunger was painful. If I simply didnt eat, the hunger pains went away after 4 days and hunger was normality. Not noticeable…
  • I dont know why people would want to live off of shakes when you can what you like and lose!!
  • Have looked it up and it sees a lot of people have trouble with digital scales. It says use a flat surface. Well my whole bottom floor is laminate and tiles. I know the floor may be uneven but which bit is flat and giving the right results! haha
  • It definitely goes over! I used to log my work hours when I started here and MFP said I was burning 7-800 calories cleaning in one shift. Workmate has been consistently logging her calories burned on her HRM and its more like 500. So ive stopped logging all exercises and am keeping it simple by eating 1200 and thats that!
  • I'm 4ft 8.5 and my TDEE is 2000. I'm currently eating at 1200 but will move up to 1600 shortly.
  • I'm fed up of hearing " You don't need to lose weight!!! Eat this!!! " I'm sorry, but with a starting weight of 9 stone and being 4ft 8, I really do need to go on one! My family give me that phrase most days. Every day at work, the hotel they serve staff a full fry up buffet. Most people it eat at least a little something,…
  • Going to get work trousers and realising size 12's were too tight on me and that size 14 trousers were too long in the leg despite being " petite ". ( Background info: As Im very short, even with a BMI of 21, I used to fit into children's aged 12-13 clothes. So not fitting into an adult size 12 was SCARY! )
  • Wonderful post. Thank you. I feel the same. When you read in articles things like " I tried this diet and that diet, nothing worked. " etc, coming from a 33 stone person you think...really? I believe you TRIED it, but surely not for more than a couple of days? I also tried a fair few diets myself and didn't decide they "…
  • 24 Years Old 4ft 8.5 SW: 122 lbs CW: 109 lbs GW: 95 -100 lbs .
  • I'm really small. Finding jeans and work trousers that cater to a size 10 waist and 27" leg is RIDICULOUS. I've tried everywhere from M&S, Primark, Ebay, Littlewoods, random online shops etc. It seems the bigger the waste size, the longer the size of apparently " petite " trouser legs are!! How does that even work? Anyway.…
  • This is me to a tee! 2 weeks ago I was in bed by 10pm as thinking about food was driving me insane! Now the plateau is gone after the first 7lbs and I'm losing about 1lb a week again.
  • If we can't enjoy a bit of indulgence every now and then whats the point?? At some point when you hit your goal you may even still be too scared as you'll worry about your maintenance calories! Life happens as I always say. Think about Christmas and all of the good food that's coming then! Just enjoy your birthday! x
  • Surely you can budget for one piece of cake? Today I was planning on having a 300 calorie toffee sundae. ( mmm ) but I decided to have a can of Irn Bru instead and a Beef Ragu dinner. So the toffee sundae is going on hold till tomorrow. And there we go. 2 days in a row where I get to have something that I love - because I…

  • I imagine that doing this ( saving some calories for later ) would really help ease the stress of overeating on nights out! Good idea. As I'm off next weekend I might go easy on the Friday night and leave 100-200 over so I can have a cheeky WKD in the garden on Saturday.
  • Very true. If I wake up hungry, all I want is a biscuit. So I try to remind myself " Your not hungry, your tired. " This is what lead me to weight gain. Waking up at 3am and raiding the sweetie tin! So yes, poorer choices late at night I say!
  • Although your questions have been answered I'll answer your question to moi. :P No, I only have to eat 1200 and will lose weight regardless of what I burn. I burn around 2000 calories a day ( which is what my TDEE is ) So in short: TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure, basically, how many calories you burn a day depending…
  • IMAGINE life if you couldn't eat any carbs after 3pm. Days out and dinner dates would be impossible!!
  • I agree. Also, you should never have to be hungry all the time! When I started I had been having tiny meals, and my stomach was burning by about 9pm. Luckily I had about 500 calories left by night, and could have my daily sweet and still leave some over. But today, I had a filling breakfast ( shreddies ) and for dinner a…
  • Once you have figured out your TDEE, its best to take away 20% of those calories to make a calorie deficit. ( or 15% / 10% depending on how much you have left to lose ) My example: Age 24: Sex: Female Height: 4ft 8. Weight: 111lbs Activity Level: Moderately Active My TDEE is almost 2000 calories. So I have taken away 20%…
  • Are you just eating 1200 calories or are you exercising and eating those calories back? ( Netting )
  • I get up at 6am for work. I'll have a shreddies in the morning and am usually not hungry till 4pm when I have a small meal. ( lunch I guess? ) My boyfriend gets home after 8 and we can have dinner any time between 9pm and 11:30pm. I'm still losing despite usually have my daily sweet after 7pm also. Last night I had a…
  • I gained on the pill and went to my Doctor to change. He said the pill merely increases your appetite, and thats the contributing factor. Do I believe it? I'm not sure. I think I always ate the same before I went on them. But never mind, I'm losing now and still on it! So calorie counting seems to be a winning method for…
