When I first started losing weight I broke out all over my chin and spotting. I'm guessing a hormonal connection. Things leveled out for me in a couple weeks. Another factor to keep in mind, with the ulcers, is not to deprive your body/immune system with what it needs. Are you cutting your calories too severely? Are you…

One of the main reasons water is so great first thing in the morning is that your body is dehydrated from hours of no intake...that's what they mean by helping the internal organs get moving. Also, water is actually really beneficial for your brain cells! They, like all your other cells are dehydrated in the morning.…

Great job!! I had never heard of the couch to 5k program, but I'm looking it up now! That's an awesome fitness goal! I mean think about it, you ran for 28 minutes straight???!!! I wouldn't have even dreamed about that a few months ago. Keep up the great work!

Good job! It's so important to face down our insecurities! Keep up the great work, you've earned it!

Great job!! Thanks also for pointing out the issue of body fat vs. muscle mass. Too often people stress about not losing weight on the scale when they start working out regularly.

Push ups are a great idea! GREAT JOB EVERYONE! :drinker: I love logging on and seeing what everyone has accomplished. It pushes me to do better. Plus I like lifting simple exercise ideas, as walking is about as creative as I get. This week I"m trying to tone up my mid section. If anyone is interested there is a great video…

Sorry haven't had a chance to post this week! So insane at work! Thank god it's spring break!! Well I was able to squeeze in some squats while walking. I did about 200 this week, not as many as I had hoped, but it was good to get them in the routine and I think I"ll keep them! What's the challenge this week? Crunches/…

I don't know how many people can relate to this experience, but last January I had family in town that insisted we go to Busch Gardens. While there I could not fit into some of the ride's buckles/harness over head things (even in the modified seating). The reason for not fitting was barely, but none the less I could not…

There are soo many songs that are great for workouts! This is a bit weird, but the group Aqua (crazy swedishish/nordic? group that sang Barbie Girl) really gets me going. I found their cd from back when I was 10. There stuff is just fun and ridiculous and upbeat!

Thanks for the recipe! The flavorings and adding spinach sounds yummy! Another idea, instead of using pasta (I am a carb junkie...) is to use large cabbage leaves as the "pasta" layer. Obviously, it's not a direct pasta replacement, but it's pretty yummy. And it freezes great...I take it for lunch.

squeezed in a 15 minute walk with the pooch  hopefully I'll have a proper work out tomorrow!

Hello! I wasn't going to post, but after reading through the message boards I was very inspired by everyone! It's always great to know you aren't alone in reaching your goals. :D I'm 22 and I teach high school science. I love art, reading and movies. (maybe I'll add exercise to that list later!) Looking forward to meeting…
