Thank you for all this information! I thought I was pretty tech saavy until I couldn't understand half of what I was reading! This might have been answered already, but hopefully it is a simple enough question. On MyFitnessPal, under Apps and Devices I have the Pacer Pedometer connected. Under Steps I have the Pacer…

I use the on Demand. They do have a few free ones that I have been using but I just subscribed today. They have a free 14 day trial and then $14 a month and you can cancel any time. It is cheaper per month if you want to subscribe for longer. So far I really like Body Pump (but I have a step and a barbell, but you can do…

I would love to join also. I stared tracking on MFP 13 days ago. I lost 1 pound the first week, and I think I gained it back this week! I'll see tomorrow but this morning didn't look good. I have been working out like crazy and tracking food. Is that muscle gain thing real, or is this something we just tell each other so…

I also like to plan ahead for the week. I try to make one low calorie soup per week that will last almost the whole week. Skinny taste, as others have mentioned is great. Soup with: sushi a slice of pizza with salad on top a deitz and watson buffalo chicken sausage on a hot dog bun (240ish calories depending on the bun) I…

Thanks! lmjohnson110, it sounds like we have very similar stats. 5'5, 140, fit... I usually do a long run, or do a short (2mile) run and do weights or something like TRX. I am on MFP more recently because I would love to take off this 5 pounds. It makes a difference in my runs! (Its hard at 40!) fernt21- sounds like you…

This. So annoying when someone sprays the machine next to me and I need to breathe the fumes in. Spray the towel... away from anyone working out. I also don't care if someone cleans the machine if they are not leaving visible sweat or if they don't smell nasty :-) Wash your hands when you are done in the gym. Don't put…

Just ask. If it is not peak hours they shouldn't care.

At the same time. I find it very difficult to stay within my calorie goal if I do not exercise.

How long are you fatigued for after the run? A few minutes or the rest of the day? Every runner pretty much feels tiredness of some kind after a run. If I run more than 5 miles in the morning I enjoy (or daydream about enjoying) a 10 minute nap after lunch  Do you run with a friend? Running with someone else when…

Thank you for the info! I may try these dynamic stretches one day when I am stalling to start my run! Maybe it will be the 'butt kick' I need :-P
-
Interesting. Do you have a link to this article? I don't stretch before a run because I never felt it it did anything for me. ...also I don't know the difference between Dynamic stretching and static stretching... Dynamic= walking lunges..? Static= any stretch where you are standing still? As for the original question, it…

Maybe you do not have the correct settings for your body? Mine seems pretty accurate. For example: I am 5'5 and 140ish pounds. Yesterday I ran 1.7 miles at a pace of 8.42 (it took me 14m53s to run it) and it said that I burned 200 calories. I ran 5 miles a few days ago at a 8.26pace and it showed that I burned 588…

We ended up buying a treadmill because you can fold it up, which is a big perk. The elipticals that I have seen take up a huge amount of room. My husband and I are big runners but this is always our 'Plan B' because neither of us particularly like running on the dreadmill. But with kids, hot, hot summers and seriously…

I've done a bad job giving praise and being generally social this month, but I want you all to know that you are all such an encouragement. Do you exercise now? I would definitely continue to do so. I was not overweight when beginning each pregnancy, but I gain a ton while pregnant. The only way that I was able to stay healthy was to keep active. I had a very hard time walking because of back problems. I tend to have large size babies also and my last…

LOL, I had to look that one up. Along the same lines… suck it up, buttercup :-P Anyway, stopping for a second and getting right back into it is fine. Just do it less and less. I think we all need a little HTFU at times!
