  • I only eat mine back on weekends. I did 2 months of eating them back every day and didn't lose a pound. I only lose when I don't eat them back most days of the week; but I know of people that only lose when they eat them back. Everyone is different.
  • I wouldn't worry about being over sugar with fruit. Fruit has a lot of fibre, so it generally will not cause sugar spikes. Peaches & pear have about 15 grams of sugar each... same as a cup of skim milk. Milk has no fibre, but fruit have no protein. The sugar limit (about 40 grams) is in reference to simple sugars. If you…
  • I love Mexican food!!! There a lots of healthy Mexican dishes... baja shrimp tacos (recipe from goop.com - 200 - 500 calories depending on how many side dishes) Nacho Grande Salad (I use Vital Ingredient's recipe with light ranch dressing - 500 calories) - AMAZING SALAD!!! Let me know if you want me to email you the recipe…
  • I do a cheat day a week, usually on a weekend when I'm out with friends or family. It makes socialising and being on a diet a breeze. I still log calories and do a lot of exercise on these cheat days. I look at my calorie intake over a week, so I average around 1400 daily. This works brilliantly for me.
  • Ginger Canyon. HAHAHAHA! Guess I'd have to dye it red.
  • haha! Classic!
  • I'm 5'4" with 3" heels. Can I join? I'm currently 119 and want to get to 114 by the end of September.
  • Every morning first thing. I expect fluctuations, so the changes don't drive me nuts. It helps me keep focused.
  • Without knowing what your measurement changes are it's impossible to tell if you are losing body fat and gaining muscle. IMO it sounds like you're just maintaining. You probably need to exercise more or eat less or both. I'm practically the same age and height as you. When I eat my exercise calories back I maintain, when I…
  • I just maintain when I eat mine back... I haven't lost a pound in months. I'm not going to log my exercise any more and try it.
  • Another idea for protein is low-fat or non-fat plain greek yogurt. It's cheap and once you put a handful of berries in it it's very tasty. 1 cup of Fage non-fat has 130 calories & 23 grams of protein.
  • I love this yogurt. I have it nearly every morning. This is my recipe: 130 grams yogurt 20 grams granola 50 grams fresh blueberries 5 fresh strawberries 1 tsp agave nectar Also, I'll use this yogurt instead of sour cream and I'll mix it with my favourite Ranch salad dressing to cut the calories. I can't find light ranch…
  • I've found this works for me too. We cook together so I can weigh everything and I also use a smaller plate which helps. Sometimes if I can't weigh my food I use my hands as portion guides. protein = size and thickness of palm carbs/starchy veg = one handful non starchy veg = two handfuls We always plan our dinners in the…
  • The butt is the last to go. I'm pear-shape too. I had a personal trainer a few years ago and despite getting down to 14% body fat the measurement around my hips was 35.5 at 115 lbs (I'm 5'1"). My hips go to 34" once I'm below 110 lbs". In hopes to evening out a little I started using Rusty Moores program, so I'm doing…
  • If you do HIIT it will increase your VO2 max, so you'll be huffing and puffing less when you take the stairs. There are different types of cardio fitness, that's all. No reason to feel down. You should be proud of yourself for sticking with your cardio exercise.

  • A spinning class burns about 500 calories, then since I ride my bike to the train station and walk from train station to work, and walk some more during my lunch I can burn about 800 calories. On weekends, I'll take a class and explore the city by foot or on a bike so that takes me well over 800 calories. I have a desk job…
  • Have your adrenal glands been checked? Overuse of diet pills or excessive caffeine can cause andrenal exhaustion, but so can stress and a load of other things. I'm sure they have checked your hormone levels... but just ask.
  • If you happen to know where you are going before hand look up their nutritional information before online. If you have a smart phone it makes it much easier to do this while on the move. Maybe avoid salad dressing all together for the time being.
  • I used to love baked tostitos scoops. I can't get them in the UK : (
  • Steak can be healthy, just depends on the cut. Maybe try fillet with roasted sweet potatoes or other potatoes that are low GI. You may want to tactfully suggest that just because some people remain skinny despite a diet of foods high in saturated fats does not mean those foods are not causing vascular damage. Just be…
  • Despite drinking organic skim milk myself, there is a lot of processing done to make skim milk and semi-skim and they put additives in it make make it thicker (this goes for organic milk too). Because of the processing skim and semi-skim milk and the saturated fats in whole milk I don't really see milk as a health…
  • I love bodyrock. It's brilliant.

  • It's curious as to why some meat eaters feel threatened by the vegan or vegetarian lifestyles and go on the attack.
  • Jalepeño here... I burned loads of calories this weekend. Today I took spin then I went on a bike ride for over an hour and then I walked around for a couple hours at a food festival. Minus my cleaning calories I burned 3,638 calories this week. Over 1,200 of them were from today : )
  • No wonder you're hungry; you're not eating enough. You should really only go that low if it's medically supervised. Maybe try upping it to 1200 calories and if you still feel like your starving add another 100 - 200 calories. You could probably eat 1,600 and still lose weight.
  • If you like having a snack after dinner then I would suggest you skip a snack during the day and save it for the evening. I live by the philosophy that it doesn't matter what time of day you eat; it's how much you eat overall that counts.
  • I'm sure that is the view of many dairy farmers; it's their livelihoods, but those cows are bred to produce lots of milk so it's their fault those cows die when their not milked. If people cut back on milk they will bred less dairy cows. And the comment about being cruel to tomatoes is lame. Our bodies cannot survive…
  • 5'1" 119 lbs 34-24-36.5 25% body fat. Am I pear or what?! My goal is to be around 105 to 115 lbs and around 20% body fat. I'm happy with any weight in that range so long as the body fat goes down.
  • It happens to me every time I go on vacation. I gain about 10 lbs in one week and it takes several months to lose it. It's so frustrating.
