As all my old clothes were elasticated I could get away with them for quite a while. I have also struggled with actually seeing me as thinner I have only recently bought some 'new' clothes, mostly from charity shops or sale rails I was a UK 18/20 (20 really if I am totally honest) and now fit (easily) into a (UK) 14 - not…

Well done you, well done on maintaining too - cos I think thatis hardest I think most people mean well, it's just a bit of a change that they have to get used to = and some are jealous

A picture paint a thousand words Yours does for sure, you look great
-
Yep, loving the programme - particularly as my husband is taking on board their concerns about their diet and how to change bad habits
-
Also it can be our own perception - I KNOW I have lost weight, I am in jeans that I couldnt get past my knees before but I still see the fat I think it will take time to adjust

I am 48 and doing fine, it averages out at 2lb a week Like harlanJEN, 49 next month

I generally eat 1200 calories a day - give or take and I always pre-plan and mostly enter my meals ahead of time and adjust them in the evening if needed Sometimes I eat over, sometimes (but rarely) under, I will eat SOME of my excercise calories but generally I find I am not hungry, nor cranky, and I have plenty of energy…

Most supermarkets have a salad bar in or near the cold meat section. All pubs and resturants are happy to do extra veg or salad even if the menu doesn't state i have a friend who is allergic to potatoes and most places that will happily add different veg to her plate or do roasted sweet potato for her Good luck and enjoy…

It's weird how weight sits differently on people the same height etc I am 48 years old and 5 ft 6 and am aiming for 147ish - lots of people on here the same height have goals in the 120's, on me that would look horrendously thin and haggard Ten years ago I got to 140 and found it impossible to maintain (I had also got…

I have lost 51 lbs since january 18th :) Slowly, steadily it has come down, sometimes by a lb a week, sometimes 2, occasionally staying the same for a week - it IS possible Still got a way to go but I now know withcommitment to myself and MFP we can do it :) Good luck to us all and go for it
-
Me too..... as you can see in my profile picture, it always looks awkward Good luck, practice I suppose is the only answer

Bump for later

Like this :)

I think you're doing great, well done. To be able to turn around your eating habits so drastically and stick to it is very good Also, your busy/active work hours will make an impact on your calorie burn I should think
-
Years younger, you look fab
-
Yay!! That is good, I look forward to that - not there yet aaahhhh, to be able to walk on a summers day and not chaff (sp?) - looking forward to that
-
I am also interested in people's thoughts. I am not really sure what my goal weight is, I think I would be very happy with a uk size 12/14 anything less will , at my age, make me look haggard and older - but I am willing to be re-educated
-
I am moisturising like mad the lines that have appeared where my double chin was! As long as I moisturise morning and night, put on a primer before foundation they do disappear :) I am not really setting myself a goal set in stone because I am aware that i don't want my face to be to gaunt and haggard - I'll stop before…
-
It's scary isn't it? I put on old clothes and they swim on me but I CAN'T actually see a difference, I'll admit my face is thinner I can tell that but not the rest of me. I actually said out loud today that I am scared to try on smaller clothes (don't know if I'm worried they'll still be too small or what) It's all about…

I have lost 42lbs since the middle of january. I mostly eat cereal for breakfast, salad or soup for lunch and pretty much what I like for tea, I try to eat more fruit and veg than I ever did before but sometimes I don't manage it. We are on a really tight budget due to a self-employed husband (plasterer) being quiet work…

I am so happy for you both, congratulations and from his proposal he looks a very special man who will always value you for your true inner self. May your love grow from strength to strength and the years together be long, full of happiness, health and much laughter

1) to be hungry once in a while is ok and won't kill you 2) that with the help of MFP ! CAN do this 3) how careful people were before to NOT say how ffffffaaaatttt I had become (still a swear word as far as I am concerned) 4) how much better I feel about myself 5) and that I am starting to like myself - I can stop hiding…

I have given up diet coke manytimes in the past - the headache and grumpyness are killers I am addicted once again but don't see it as a problem (mostly one can a day) I feel like I can handle losing weight as long as I have my DC. Once I have reached my goals and maintained for a while then I will deal with the diet coke…
