  • Well I am gluten free and my sister, whom I am very close with and cook a lot with is a vegetarian. So I have some ideas for when we eat together: QUINOA. We eat a lot of this and add whatever roasted veggies/potatoes/ nuts and seeds we have on hand Polenta: again, very versital but one of my favorites is to make a polenta…
  • Rudi's multigrain is great! I was a little put off as it's frozen, but you just throw it in the toaster. It also has a lot less ingredients that Udi's.
  • Okay! I bought Bob's GF brown rice flour. I haven't had a lot of luck finding recipes that specifically call for it, but I plan on experimenting this weekend. Has anyone here used it before in a specific recipe and would be willing to share it with me??
  • Thanks everyone! I'm on vacation now, but I will let you know what I pick up :)
  • Heyyy another Pirates fan!! Hello there! I love tailgating too! • Don't be so hard on yourself. I had a pretty bad weekend myself. IMy test for Celiac also came back negative but through eliminating gluten myself then reintroducing it is very clear that I have an intolenance. I am also somewhat in denial as this all happened only a few months ago. As an Irish gal, St Patty's day is my…
  • Hi!! I know what you're talking about! I tested negative for celiac disease, but since cutting it out I feel soo much better. I also cut out a lot of processed foods in general and it's amazing how great I feel. I've found that I can "cheat" though. Like, if I don't eat gluten for all day and have three beers at night I…
  • You could also buy a small crock pot and plug it in at the hotel! Then you can pretty much throw whatever you have in there- like quinoa and veggies - Soup (if you don't mind eating it cold) and all kinds of stews and stuff. I literally just throw in whatever I have laying around and it comes out as some kind of…
  • I was going to post something similar to this. I used to always count calories and rely on a lot of frozen dinners like lean cuisine and 100 calorie packs to get me through the day. A year later I have totally changed my diet. I am in the process of trying to eat as much unprocessed food as I can. I find that even cutting…
  • Quinoa!! So yummy and so good for you too.

  • I have just fallen in love with Quinoa! I usually cook it on the stove top according to the directions and then add whatever veggies I have on hand. The other day I roasted sweet potatoes then added those, plus raw chopped up mushrooms to it at the end of cooking and it came out delicious! Add whatever spices you like- I…
  • Hey guys, I just tried Trader Joe's Brown Rice Pasta for the first time last night. It was alright last night, but when I reheated the leftovers for lunch this morning they were very sticky- and kind of soggy. Has anyone else run into this problem?
  • I experienced my first GF shopping on Monday at Trader Joes! I feel your pain. I ended up getting quinoia, polenta and fresh vegetables. I wasn't ready to venture into the GF bread or pasta. That night I cut the Butternut Squash I got in half and seasoned it with cinnamon, nutmeg and canye pepper with a little bit of EVOO.…
  • Hi everyone! I recently (VERY - a week and a half) started the FODMAP diet in an effort to curb IBS issues. After eliminating Gluten, dairy and fructose for a week I have felt better. The other day I got sushi thinking it would be a safe bet but I ended up in the bathroom for a half hour after. Turns out I shouldn't have…
  • Bump! Thanks for sharing
  • I've been trying this week: I made a huge pot of brown rice with pork and have been eating it all week- really because I've been so busy and I don't know what else I can eat! I've also been eating either eggs or buckwheat for breakfast. It's so bland- It's terrible! My stomach has felt better though- KenCarden- How long…
  • bump! Just got some venison myself! Thanks
  • I sprinkle flaxseeds on top of oatmeal and yogurt. I also put them into pancakes and other baked goods. I don't measure, just kinda put a couple of spoon fulls in. They have a nice nutty flavor!
