Rinse in colander, check for foreign objects, place beans in pot or bowl, add water to about 2 inches above beans, soak over night. In the morning discard the water ( unless you enjoy tooting) add fresh water to cover, about 2 inches should do, you can add more as the beans absorb the water during the cooking process.…

I have a magic bullet, would I buy another one? No. ( It's great for ice caps though) I don't own a Foreman grill, but I like the idea of it. Perhaps down the road I will.

It's actually a seed that is protected by a bitter outer husk. When you buy it in the store it has the husk removed, but it's a good idea to soak it first if your not sure. Soaking removes any bitter remnant of the husk. I believe that quinoa is a complete protein because it has all 9 amino acids. Safeway carry's it, and…

Just a suggestion but you might want to read the book " The easy way to quit smoking" by Allan Carr. I realize you quit smoking but it appears that you have transferred your craving for nicotine ( endorphin rush) over to food which is another endorphin rush. The author can explain why your craving and how to deal with it.…

Stuey 39 and me are currently in week five of the 100 pushup training program. It starts outs easy then around the end of week 5 it gets pretty tough ( for us anyway). I was a pearshaped when I began this program, I'm not now. I'm not a MFP fitness scientist so I can't comment on the physics of how push ups build muscles.…

Popcorn is superhero food, just like steel cut oats. I eat popcorn everyday, it's like sunshine in a bag. I oil pop mine in a popcorn kettle machine. Then give i kick it up a notch with some seasonings. I stopped adding butter and salt and I don't miss it. I eat a minimum of 8 cups a day. Enjoy your poppycorn.…

"Anyway, like I was saying, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad,…

1. Rinse chicken cavity and outside in cold running water. Let most of the water drip off of it. 2. Place chicken in roasting pan. 3. Sprinkle with your favorite spices. ( they will stick to the skin because it's still a wet from the rinsing) 4. Place in a preheated 325 F oven..close the door 5. Cooking time will vary due…

It's counterproductive. I smoked and ran when I was in the Military. But then again everybody had to run. Nicotine is an evil drug. Glad I read "The easy way to quit smoking" by Allan Carr. No looking back now. Cheers

A hand pump oil mister works excellent for getting spices to stick to your popcorn. I'm justa a cook!

Lots of water and the 100 pushups training program is working for me, starting to get bumpy bits around the mid section, lost my belly. And I'm 51. Google 100 pushups training program, it's free. Print out the reference card it makes it easier to track, ( it did for me). Good luck. Better bodies are built in the kitchen. :D

If your in that much pain then scale it back to every second day. There is nothing to be gained by doing the exercise everyday. Your muscles are sending you signals that they are repairing themselves. It take approx 48 hours for the repair to take place. HIIT or weights one day, followed by low impact cardio the next, then…

I think any military type organization is going to require you to be relatively fit prior to joining. Your body is going to have to support you in alot of physically challenging situations. I don't believe it's a personnel issue, more like simple physics. If your tasked to do a 600 meter rundown and then do a live fire…

I have a Yorkshire terrier, I would exercise with her, but I don't trust her to spot for me when lifting weights, she has let me down to many times.

I think it depends on what time zone you live in. Pretty sure it's true cause the food that you eat prior to 6pm get's locked down at 6pm so that it doesn't produce any fat and get's burnt up in your bodies little furnace room. However anything after 6 pm simply roams around your body adding fat as it travels through your…

Give the 100 pushup training program a try, it's free, just google it. It's giving me a flat stomach plus loads of core strength. The push up is very under rated for some reason. You can do this.
