I just finished P90X and my one disappointment with the program and the only area where I did not make a major improvement, was that I did not increase my pullups. I suspect that it was because I did all assisted pullups. I followed all the published suggestions but my ending number was the same as my starting number.…

Yes I do. I have the rest of my life to reach my goal weight, so aside from a 500 calorie deficit, I eat the way I expect to eat the rest of my life. Do whatever works for you, what's right for me might not be right for you

I just completed P90X. It feels good to say but I know it's not an end, just the end of the begining.

When I am confronted by the God's self appointed representatives, I calmly explain that atheists are under no obligation to suffer fools. Then I shut the door in their face or walk away.

I tried to be a believer because of peer pressure. After a sincere effort I concluded there isn't anything there. I don't get in anyone's face to accept my belief/dis-belief and I don't tolerate anyone getting in my face with their belief. Jesus said "love thy neighbor as thyself." I live that, I wish my theist friends…

[/quote] that should be GREAT to get you started! Make sure like the others said, you pick a weight where you struggle on your 10th rep. Are you going to be doing classic or lean? it's a misnomer, because classic actually tends to get better results for both men and women, while lean doesn't typically help you lose quite…

These are the meal names I grew up with. It does seem to cause confusion so now I stick to lunch and dinner. One added thought, growing up I hated sunday dinner because that meant we were only getting two meals that day. I'd be hungry half the day.

I'm on day 76 of my first round. It is hard so don't be discouraged if you have to hit pause to catch your breath or shake the stiffness out of your arms before continuing. I take anywhere between an extra 10 and 30 minutes of breaks. Conversely, if you start with a modified/easier form of an exercise, don't stay there any…

I started doing yoga on P90X then recently started going to power yoga classes that move at a much faster pace. What I like is that I get a great calorie burn without feeling sore afterward.

Congratulations on your transformation! You look fantastic. I'm in week six of P90X. After close to sixty years of gravity pulling everything a little lower, I'll never look like an underwear model but I am stronger than I've been in years and all my "numbers" have improvered remarkably. I highly recommend this program to…

It's also fun to pull clothes from the closet that are covered in dust, then find that they fit.

I'm sneaking up on sixty myself. Just because we're older than most of the folks here is no excuse for not getting the job done. If we stick to our calorie target and exercise, we'll lose weight. Simple as that. Congratulations on a job well done! Keep inspiring us all.

My wife and I started using fitbit on March 1st. It has been a major part of our success.

How's it going for you Pipsg1rl? Still sticking to P90X Lean?

I just hit day 30 this week. I lost three pounds and 1% body fat. I was hoping for more but I'm sure it will come soon enough. I am feeling so much stronger and all my clothes are loose. I'm already making plans for a second round of P90X.

Completed day 30 of P90X!

Take your starting pictures. I didn't when I did Power 90 and regreted it later. I made sure to take pictures when I started P90X.
-
Good luck! I'm two weeks in and feeling sore but good about working hard toward my goals.

Diet coke is a diuretic which could dehydrate you faster than drinking equivilent amounts of water.

I have both an HRM and a fitbit. The HRM gives me an accurate measure of calories burned in exercise where the fitbit would only measure my steps. The fitbit is measuring my activity all day long and is comfortable to wear, unlike the HRM which is strapped around my chest. They are different things for different…

You can't go back and change the past, so focus on what you can do moving forward. Use this site to log your food and exercise, make a few friends to share the journey with, then be surprised at how easy it is to change you life. There has to be several hundred people on this site who've lost over 100 lbs, so you are far…

Two days into P90X lean. I finished Power 90 last week and decided to take one recovery week then move on to P90X. I'm doing lean because I don't want to do the plyo routine. The two workouts so for have pushed me out of my comfort zone. I'm tired and sore in a good way and that is exactly what I need. Anybody else doing…

I just finished Power 90 week 12 of 13. It was great program for me to get back in shape after not exercising for five years. When I finish Power 90 next week, I'm taking one week off then moving on to P90X. Only advice I have, be sure to take pictures and measurements before you start and at each of the 30 day marks. I…

I'm finishing Power 90 next week. I'm going to take one week off then start P90X on July 30. I'm a member of the Beachbody group on MFP, if other people are interested, we could start a thread over there for people currently doing P90X. It would be great to give each other advice and encouragement as we progress through…

I second this opinion.

I was literally breaking buttons and the waistband of my undershorts rolled up the second I put them on so I probably should have upsized twenty pounds before I hit my peak. Now I'm at the point where I have to cinch my belt tight to keep my pants up. I bought one pair of jeans about three weeks ago and they were loose the…

My wife and I are here together. It's great because we see the little changes in each other, that friends and co-workers would never notice. We point them out and offer encouragement and support. As a team we are down sixty pounds.

^^^^What he said. Only thing I would add, when I go camping the idea of using pit toilets leaves me a bit constipated. Eat a lot of fiber and you'll get rid of that weight preaty fast.

I'm in my 7th week of Power 90. I am very pleased with my results so far. I'm not sure where to go when I finish. I'm a little worried that P90X might still be too hard, but the challenge would be good so that's probably next. Good luck with your program and tomorrow be sure Tony doesn't cheat you out of the second set of…
