I'm always up for more friends. I'm in my 40s, a mum of 3 young kids and looking to lose 60+ kgs. I'm from Melbourne. I've been at this for 6 weeks so far for a 7kg loss. I'm trying to change my life, not go on a diet. That means a little chocolate, a glass of wine and even maybe some naughty snacks are going to feature in…

Incredible. Unbelievable. Sensational. Inspirational. You must be so proud of yourself. Thanks for posting.

I was exactly the same when I started 6 weeks ago. I felt awful every time I went for the first 2 weeks then it all clicked. I also have just cut back my cardio. I think over the years we've had the whole you've got to move to lose and you think that the faster and harder you go, the more you'll lose. But I've found that…

I'd just do the working out ones. You account for regular ones when you are asked how active your day generally is. They factor those into your daily calorie limit.

Just got one and am staggered at how much MFP overestimates the calories burned. I don't eat back all of my calories but if I did on MFP estimates, I think I'd gain weight.

Just fit it into your calories. I enjoy a glass of wine with dinner and I'm not giving it up for anybody. I just make sure I can fit it in. And I agree - Fat coke tastes soooooo much better than diet or zero.

If she doesn't have the common decency to break up with you in person, she might not be the right one for you.

With my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies, I knew I was pregnant a week before my period was due because of the extreme fatigue. It's hard to describe but not like fatigue from being generally tired or doing an extreme workout or being sick. Number 3 was an accident (pleasant surprise) so I wasn't even looking for symptoms. I don't…

Tamar Valley yoghurt is the best low fat yoghurt I've tasted.

Sorry, a tiger here (hence my name). Think the flag's yours to lose this year ;)

Yep - log them as if it's food (if you have one at dinner time, log it there with your meal). The water log is separate to remind you to drink your water.

Definitely. Their flavoured yoghurts are really good too but getting harder to find at the supermarkets

Well done so far Clare. I'm also trying to do this slowly and without fad diets or meal replacements. I'm also putting a request to add. I'd love to see what you're eating.

Baby steps. There was a lady I heard on the radio one day (in Australia) who started by doing circuits of her washing line. That was all she could do.Then she walked to the end of the street and back. Then around the block. etc etc. You'll get there but don't try and run a marathon on your first week and remember that…

I have 3 (6, 5 and 2). The oldest is at school but the other 2 are at home. Do you have a group of friends who are also stay at home mums who want to exercise? A group of us split the cost of a personal trainer one a week and do our own exercise class. We meet in a park, or someone's house if the weather is lousy and the…

It might be worth talking to someone professionally. Were you offered counselling? Even if you weren't, it might help you to have some. Take care.

Nice loss :)

Have you thought of investing in one of those car fridges that plug into the cigarette lighter of your car? It might expand your options.

I have the same problem with both feet and have been told it's plantar fasciaitis. The podiatrist wants to have custom-made inserts made for me but they are too expensive right now. I am trying some insoles from the pharmacy. Something that has helped, though, is getting 2 600ml bottles of water and freezing them (take…

There's lots of Aussies here. I'm from Melbourne - join the AussieAussieAussie group for more of us.

This is your journey not anyone elses so don't let other people's criticisms or opinions get in the way of what works for you.

Hi. I'm 41 next month with 3 boys - 6, nearly 5 and nearly 2. I started on MFP 3 weeks ago and wished I did it 10 years ago. I'm not sure if my age was a challenge when I was pregnant. I was lucky and had 3 healthy pregnancies regardless of my weight. I think it's an advantage now. I've lived my "single" life - done my…

If I've been good and drunk all of my water and I have calories left, I have a glass of wine.

Harris Scarfe often have decent shoes on sale. Big W have an online site. Would they deliver? Ebay?????

It depends on what I'm doing. An old housemate and I used to put on a CD when we were cleaning and dance around while we were at it and it certainly was a workout. I've only logged it if it includes vacuuming and if I feel like I've had a workout. I also only log half the time because the calorie burned figure is enormous…
