Thanks for the responses, I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing! I felt like I was doing it "wrong" somehow, but I hadn't considered what you guys have said, that my goals might change over time. I feel encouraged again :)

Well congratulations on deciding to make a change! I'm 21 and looking to lose a total of 100 pounds in the long run, so I'm on a bit of a different journey. Good luck with everything, I hope you do well :)

Wow, I just came here to post almost exactly the same question. I realized that, after thinking I'd somehow gained 6 pounds overnight, my scale is really unreliable - it gives a different result ever time I step on. I'd love to hear from people that have really reliable scales so I can track my weight loss.

It's funny, I do the exact same thing. I will admit I did a weigh-in mid week because I was curious... I'll stick to Monday mornings from now on, though.
