Bumping as a reminder (to myself) that it works and that this too shall pass...

I'm 160cms/5'3" and currently 80kg/178.3lbs after increasing from maintaining between 65kg/143.3lbs and 70kg/154.3lbs between July 2021 and June 2023. So I thought my BC didn't affect me and that my weight gain was due to a different medication but... I had my implant replaced in May 22 because I kept thinking it had only…

Been on cymbalta for 4 years and others previously. Currently on highest possible dose Anti depressant medication has had no effect on my weight loss or weight gain

At 36 I may be in peri, my mum said she entered menopause early so it does run in the family. I had the implant due for removal 2 years ago and completely forgot about it, for the first year after it was due out I had regular light periods with the odd heavy and painful one, roughly every 28 days as per usual but the last…

Over the long weekend I planted sweet corn, sunflowers, carrots, cornflowers, green beans, snow peas and nasturtiums. We have just come in to Autumn here in Oz and as I am in the north of Queensland we get a lovely mild winter with temps between 3-25 degrees Celsius and lets me grow plants that find it too hot in our…

Eat dinner earlier, plan a snack for that period, don't have a "light" lunch, maybe switch your dinner meal and lunch meal around?

I wish I had a food orientated dog! Mine is affection/toys, and sometimes it isn't appropriate to pull out a squeaky toy

You always give such informative, caring answers. Your response was really helpful - and I know that when I wear mild compression shorts (usually under my skirts/dresses for thigh rub) it does at least "hide" the saggy skin from my sight so even if it doesn't "work" it still does?

I believe Coca-Cola should be paying me with shares in the company, I'm up to about 4-6 litres a day of Coke No Sugar. I ditched the regular coke in 2009-2010 in favour of Coke Zero then they replaced it with the No Sugar. I'm currently in the process of quitting smoking (again) with a prescription this time for Zyban.…

My sciatica was a secondary condition to my upper thoracic Schuremann's Syndrome, an MRI of my entire spine discovered it at the age of 34 (usually diagnosed in childhood) and treatment for the Schuremann's Syndrome (and quitting the cleaning/trolley collecting job at grocery store) has also worked for sciatica. Basically,…

I am assuming you have had yours replaced with a new one every 3 years - it could be a hormonal thing (maybe the exercise has stimulated hormones of some sort and caused it?) or a stress thing, it could be nothing or it could be something serious. Because menstrual stuff has typically not been studied a lot there isn't a…

Give it a try for a month or so - that is the only way to know if it works for you. Personally, I don't understand why you don't just eat at maintenance level plus some of your exercise calories every day and therefore enjoy your "cheat days" spread out throughout the week?

13 ha ha ha I can live with that

My teen son bought himself an airfryer so he doesn't have to use the large oven when making himself snacks and meals - I was sceptical at first that it would be used but even I have used it when I wanted hot chips pronto. So far it has only done chips, pies etc but handy to know about the meats cooked in it are tasty too!

Unfortunately I'm a book person, any book doesn't matter if I start reading I'm wide awake until I finish

Had a riding lesson last night and was able to do a good half of it in sitting trot and it felt good! I got a high five from my instructor cause she could tell I had really been working on my posture, aids and seat. My core muscles have got to the point where they aren't incredibly sore after a lesson anymore! I no longer…

I proudly live in "socialist" Australia, pay my taxes (30% from gross wage) and have benefitted from other peoples taxes just as others have benefitted from my tax payments. Arguments against "socialism" do not have the value or credibility people believe they do. I know our government could certainly do things a lot…

Regarding the "permission to eat more" from exercise... Sure, if you aren't eating those calories back (either in full or partially) you will have a larger deficit but as mentioned above you will eventually want to maintain and knowing how much your exercise actually uses calorie wise means you will be able to eat…

My commiserations on being a sports fan! Perhaps I could listen to the latest cricket test match, that might put me to sleep immediately!

Good work on the loss and the maintenance! My suggestions are (and I'm not an expert) -* Check that you're weighing/measuring food/condiments/beverages and selecting accurate database entries. * Perhaps, since you have lost weight (congrats!) go through the guided set up process again - you may need to reduce your calorie…

I've no idea what Tootsie Rolls taste like! I do love a choc mint combination anything though

I have a couple questions (and I am not an expert by any means)... Were you logging and eating back at least some of your exercise calories? When you say BMR, do you mean Base Metabolic Rate as compared to TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) from a TDEE calculator like sailrabbit or are you perhaps confusing the calorie…

May I join in? As an Australian, I am currently on a comfortable, livable wage of approximately $58000 taxable AUD per year plus about $13000 of Family Tax Benefit per year (non-taxable). When I was unemployed, I was receiving $13-18000 of Government benefits per year. Our income taxes (30% for me, applicable on taxable…

Chocolate mint candy canes oh my gosh those exist?

Some small goals that are fitness oriented also help, walking an extra 100 metres or kilometre; climbing one more set of stairs than usual; getting an extra set of exercises in, or increasing weights slightly. Sometimes it helps to focus on something other than the scale. Congratulations on the 30lbs lost!

I'm also a beetroot, I like Target and Kmarts (Australia) range of exercise tights, I actually wear the bike pants under my skirts, wear the 3/4 pants for exercise and the full length ones for horse riding when I can't be bothered squeezing in to my jodphurs. All the ones I have mentioned have POCKETS big enough to stash…

Firmly middle class apparently. I found quite a few of the "menu" items unappetising. Fish fingers (meh); sloppy joes (ick); lobster? eh give me prawns instead or a nice grilled barramundi. Lobster *in* mac'n'cheese? WTF lol Would have been nice to see a wider variety of food types - are croissants upper/middle/lower? What…

Sometimes I like to peek at a diary, it is really interesting to see what counts as a regular meal for someone on the opposite side of Australia (or the world). I've checked out diaries and then googled products, occasionally I have made a purchase based off someone's diary.

I had a google out of curiosity because I recalled hearing that approx 150 police officers from NSW had been put on leave due to refusing the mandatory covid vaccines…
