I have the same problem too! I feel bad because I would like complete my food diary and then think...just a tiny bit more. My husband is really bad and when I watch him fix a snack, it makes me want more. Tonight I went on the Message Board and saw success stories. Before and after pictures. That really took my mind off of…

Thanks for sharing! All of you look amazing!!!

(BUMP) I have had similar experience too. Went away when I quit doing push-ups for a while. I am guessing a pinched nerve caught from a tight shoulder ligament muscle from the scaphoid region (shoulder blade.) Mentioned to my doctor but he didn't give me an answer.

Thanks for sharing your story. I think everyone can relate to at least one excuse. It's good that you had the courage to make the choice to get out of the bad and into the healthy. So proud of you!

I can totally relate as I been working a sedentary job for about 20 years. I wish I can change jobs but right now I am kind not in position to. I read from two different sources that sedentary jobs can cause an early death. Here's the kicker: even if you work out after work! I have been into workouts before family with…

I struggle also. I been on MFP since 2010 and had great results over time. But the last 6 months have been emotionally exhausting as life has thrown stuff at me. I just got burned out on the diet and lost time for fitness as well as food planning. First you need to find a motivation and set a goal. Then you need to set…

I have knee issues but due to cartilage loss. I took up boxing and absolutely love it! Bend at your knees (if you can't, skip that part,) and punch away - punch real fast! That would keep your heart rate up for cardio. I can't remember all the names for the punches, hook shot, upper cut shot, etc. Bet you can find examples…

How do you want to look at your next high school reunion? If you were stranded in the woods, lost, would you have the strength and agility to survive and endure physical stress? What if you where on TV? Watching yourself on the screen, are you proud of how you look? Would your girlfriend go crazy over you if you had a hot,…

There is a difference in good and bad cholesterol: Animal fat = bad cholesterol LDL Avocados or olive oil = good cholesterol. HDL

Romance is for fools. Don't believe everything you see in the movies, media, you'll just set yourself up as a victim of heart break. Focus on yourself and others around you who have feelings too. True love....er hum..... I mean "real love" will come to you when you least expect it.

Awesome and inspirational! Please don't stop! I know a lot of people, including myself, have successes, but then fall back and gain some of it back due to whatever life throws at them. It happens. But if there is a will, there is always, always a way.

I read in health magazines that eating 3 sensible meals with a morning and afternoon snack is reasonable. Just watch your in-take. For example, for go the mayo on your sandwich. Portion control your snacks. If you build muscle, focus on lean protein snacks like cottage cheese and a peach. Or a measurable amount of peanut…

Something anonymous but represents me - pretty as a flower on the inside. :flowerforyou:

I am probably going against the grain some what. I think calories play a role in it but not in how some may think. You have calories from fat: Nuts, meat, fried food, whole milk, whipping cream. etc. You have calories from zero fat: Example, gummy bears. Soda. etc. But that is sugar that effects you in other ways. You have…

Regardless what the scales say, your clothes speak the truth! Way to go!

(bump) Some really good ideas!

Rest, rest, and rest! My best advice to avoid stress fracture. Elevate and ice. When muscles are warm (when your not icing them) stretch. Good luck! The better you rest now, the quicker it heals - be patient.

Swimming is great exercise! Its cardio and great go-to exercise when your injured. I wish I could swim better - just doesn't come natural to me. But I am injured and sure could be doing lots of laps right now to keep up my heart rate. Keep up your land exercises as well.

Its all about life style changes. But treats are treats. So today is your treat!!! Happy Birthday! :flowerforyou:

I love Asics for low arches but I don't know if they make Zumba.

Does your boss even know you are goofing off on the computer?

I have a cold too. Not fun. I just had a fattening meal for lunch. It's hard to say "no" to comfort food when you are in need of comfort. Hope you get well soon and back on track! Take it slow starting out, but don't give up! :drinker:

I am still struggling with that last one.

Patience. Self experimentation. (What works best for one, may not be best for you.) Drive (perseverance) Fun (make a game out of it) Commitment to new life style change (understand that you will no longer go back to your old ways of eating once you reach your goal.)

msn.com under "busniess" has something about the "skinnygirl cocktail" today. I didn't read it but I am familiar with it. Bethany (forgot her last name) has been a contributor to HEALTH magazine and very recently appeared in another May issue (I think its SELF or Woman's Health magazine.) She is the developer of…

Thumbs up! :drinker:

I am 42 and I hear you loud and clear sister! I occasionally go in denial but certain body parts remind me I am not 20 anymore. I tend to get more gutsie with exercise and stunts now that I am older. I guess its sort of a bucket list or a mid-life crisis. I now can do a backwards bow (back bend) something I never dreamed I…

I had once tried Sparkpeople.com that I found out by a magazine like Health. The calorie logging was so slow that I quit. Later a lady in my running group told me about it. Love how quick and easy it is to find things and keep log. Love the calorie - exercise calorie burn calculator! It's addictive and helpful!

WOW!!! Congrats to both!

Your body is very similar to mine in a lot of ways! I am currently 138 hoping to get down to about 133. I can tell your upper middle is narrower, the back of your thighs are smoother - no cellulite! Have you taken tape measurements? I bet your hips are smaller too. Its just that white brings more light and dark makes you…
