I am 74 (or will be the 16th of this month) and returning to MyFitnessPal after some years of absence. I noticed on my profile that that I am at the same weight as last time I belonged, so I haven't made any progress. I lost 55 lbs on WW 14 years ago but gained it all back after losing my husband to colorectal cancer that…

Wow! Powerful....and right on the money! I'm going to try to print this out so I can carry it with me. Thank you, thank you!

I stared Februay 5, would like to lose 70 lbs and have lost 19 so far. As you get older, losing weight is more of an effort because our metabolism slows down. I struggle as do most and have some good days and some not so good. They key is to stay the course and NOT give up. I appreciate MFP and all the encouragement…

I saw Nannabanana's reply to this post and thought I'd chime in. I'm 65 and looking forward to retiring 3/29/13..."Lord willing and the creek don't rise." I have also struggled with my weight all my adult life. I joined 2/05/12 and have lost 19.5 lbs. It's slow for me but I don't put much effort into exercising which, I…

I have just resolved myself to having what my grandsons "affectionately" call my "bingo wings." I figure if they weren't toned before I started losing weight I doubt they will ever get any better at this age. We lose muscle mass as we get older....yep, another one of those "golden oldies." I am resigned to never again…

I'm always glad to make a new friend and welcome you back to MFP. It's been a long time since I had to lose "baby" weight but do remember those days. I thought I was so "big" then....now I would love to be that weight again. LOL Remember as you care for your new baby and your family that you need to also take care of…

fantastic weight loss! Inspirational! - sorry, don't know how to put this where I wanted it....it was meant for the member who lost 130 lbs.

Goodmorning! I fit the 50+ age group, plus some extra for good measure. My goal for May is to get my butt in gear and stop the back sliding into my old habits that had begun last month. Most of the month I stayed on plan but when faced with a social situation I find I use it as an excuse to over indulge because "I'll make…

I hesitated, being a bit of a private person, in opening my diary but figured it was another way to be held accountable. I also like to see what others are eating during a day for inspiration to myself and to gain ideas of food choices. You are more than welcome to add me as a friend.

I agree about eliminating any sarcasm from the posts. This is a free service/site where all who are interested can find people of a like mind in trying to shed some weight and get healthier. Why muddy it with snide remarks or sarcasm? Whether someone's diary is open or not does not make a difference to me as to "friending"…

I was a WW member off and on for years and lost and regained. I finally got my head straight and lost 50 lbs the last time I re-joined. It took me about six months and I felt good. Unfortunately, I gained most of it back following the death of my husband the following year. I contemplated WW again this year when I was…

Pics are nice so I can match a face with a user name, but certainly not necessary. I lean toward people with similar interests but will "friend" any who ask me. I gain momentum and encouragement from "friends" and I hope some gain from my posts to them.

4 lbs lost since 3/18, which I think was the start of the 30 lbs down group. It's slow, but at least its moving in the right direction. I just need to stay focused on eating healthy and need to get more exercise.
-
I gained 1 lb but considering I was on vacation last week and went on a cruise, I didn't do too badly. I guess all the walking and activity helped more than I thought it would. Back on track this week so far.

I do mainly because when I get home from work I'm too tired to go out somewhere to a gym when its a drive to get there. I plan to get the Zumba for it. Zumba looks like fun and exercise. I would be glad to join a group if one is created.

1 lb lost since joining the group and 11 lbs down since joining MFP 35 days ago. Is there a "preferred" check in day or do we check in whenever we like?

I'll definitely join! I am near my first goal of 10 lbs since I joined MFP. I am taking this journey 10 lbs at a time. I have quite a bit to lose but would love to lose another 30 by November. Is there a "group" we join for this challenge?

You lost 60 lbs....and 10 years off your appearance. Congratulations on a job well done! I hope I can do the same. My journey just began when I finally got my head together a month ago. I wish you strength and perseverance in finishing to your goal and maintaining. Great job!

You're welcome to add me as a friend. I live in central Pennsylvania, USA and have approximately 70 lbs to lose. It will not be a fast remedy as it was not a fast weight increase. It took years to get here. I also have a health issue (heart related) that finally put the fear of God into me, as they say, and opened my eyes.…

Because of family member: "Cancer. Person pet peeve: "like" ...as in "like, you know" or 'like...totally" Like..every other word is "like." Like, really people?

If you log exercise you've done it shows the number of calories burned. You can "add" these back into your daily allotment and eat them if you wish to adhere to your daily calories allowed. From what I have read, some do and some don't.

What does "bump" mean in these posts? And....no flour in this? It looks like loaf bread/cake.

I am humbled and very impressed with the weight loss stories and successes on MFP. I only hope I can stay the course and do half as well and some of you. This is a great site for moral support and advice. I appreciate each and every one of you! I wish you all well in your weight loss journey and plan to be here until mine…

chlokneb ... feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I believe encouragement from others can help us stay the course. Weight loss for most of us is a true up and down battle most of our lives. I've been traveling this road for more years than I like to count. Be good to yourself and get healthy when you are young.…

I joined about a month ago and find it very helpful and friendly. I too lost weight on WW only to regain it when I lost my husband to cancer. I am now ready to focus on me and get my life healthier. I set a realistic, sustainable weight loss goal and so far, so good. The food tracking...and the exercise tracking help me be…

What does "bump" mean? I see it on these blogs every once in a while and have no clue. Thanks!

There is no set "diet" plan. MFP simply provides the avenues to track your food, water intake, and excercise along with tools for support from groups you can join or encouragement from "friends." I have been a member for two weeks and find it very helpful. I belonged to WW in the past and try to base my eating on their…

Hi! I've also been on a little over a week. If you don't mind a "senior" friending you, I'm in. Encouragement is what we all need and can use. I joined the "Seniors" group but don't always feel like a senior so I enjoy friends of all ages. I think you'll find the food tracking to be very beneficial. I joined WW a few years…

low fat - no salt popcorn will "fill me up" when I get the munchies. I pop regular popcorn in a brown paper lunch bag in the microwave. 1/4 cup makes a pretty full bag. I don't measure, just pour so I'm guessing at the amount.
