I was reading through and thinking to myself that they became popular in the early to mid 2000's when I got to your post which confirmed as much.

Saltpeter is an ingredient in gunpowder!!! Do you really want to be eating gunpowder??? ETA: Gunpowder is delicious on pizza.
-
Big flour isn't as savvy, I guess.
-
Shut up and take my money!!!
-
What do you mean by "snuck in ingredients?" By law, all ingredients are listed.

Weight is managed by energy balance. There are health and fitness implications for eating enough protein, fat, fiber and micronutrients but you only lose weight (and will always lose weight) if you are in a caloric deficit.
-
For that matter, the average teenager running a register at BK may not even have a clue whether or not mayo is vegan, let alone assume that's the reason the customer asked them to hold it.
-
I like using high fiber tortillas. La Banderita has a "Carb Counter" tortilla that has 11g of fiber and 4g of protein at only 50 calories each (take that, fiber one).

And thank you!! Been a long time coming for us so we're pretty stoked.
-
You posted a list of harmless ingredients with no context, assuming that the sciency sounding names of said ingredients would speak for themselves and make your point that decrying the supposed health concerns of eating processed veggie burgers ISN'T fearmongering? Oky doky.
-
I thought the big cow wanted me to eat mo' chickin?
-
And what is it about processing that is so bad?
-
The Oreo thread contains settled science and does not belong in the debate section.

I've long suspected you were some kind of sleeper agent. I'll bet if I could just figure out your trigger word you'd flood this whole site with spam.
-
Sounds right to me.

I agree on all points. The implication that homemade is inherently better for you was there and, you're right, I 100% disagree with that. However, I was defending the poster from this severe extrapolation: Of course, Lynn went from me saying that I don't think Jossy is claiming she shouldn't have to see other people eat…

Holy propoganda, Batman. Yes, suing those who call your product unhealthy is a telltale sign that you're sending people and bots to infiltrate the forums of a calorie counting app, create profiles, rack up hundreds of unrelated comments and wait for the opportunity to attack veggie burgers when a thread finally arises.…
-
She recommended that people try making their own. Where did she or I say that veggie burgers should ONLY be made at home?
-
This confirms my stance that Thanks-a-lots are just Keebler Fudge Stripes without the stripes.
-
Those are the only ones I'll choose to eat. But they're basically just Keebler Fudge Stripes.
-
Meh. Never understood the hype.

Nobody here but us humans.

I use BodySpace. It allows you to design your own workouts/programs (easier on their desktop site than the app, but it shows up on the app if you build in on the site). It also tracks your weight and reps for the next time you workout. It even has a built in timer that kicks in between sets to time your rest periods.

How many city blocks should I walk for precisely one cheekful of M&Ms though? That's a serving size, right? One cheekful?
-
I prefer the gym because they have more toys and it's a designated workout space.
-
Just saying congrats on that humblebrag. :) Also, my wife and I will celebrate 8 years in April, just a few days after we become parents.
-
You eat nothing but raw, uncut foods?
-
I definitely don't think you're promoting a conspiracy theory (I was referring to the comments made about "small government, conservative states" being out to get meat replacements). I guess I just haven't noticed any more flack myself. But if it's there I would imagine it belongs more to what amusedmonkey spoke of, people…

This and I also don't see a difference between the "Ah! Fake meat is processed!!" seen here and any other "Ah!! Processed food is bad for you!!" that we see in so many other threads. Sure, it was mentioned upthread that we don't see these concerns voiced about protein powder (despite it's being processed) but we see that…
