I felt like this at the beginning... And certainly, if you don't feel comfortable telling people, then don't. I had set out to lose 82 pounds... I'm down 44. My goal weight is 160, which means I started at 242. I feel horrible about that starting weight... but you know what, I'm not there anymore! I've made a conscious…

LOVE. IT. Seriously... my favorite workout DVD of all time!!! I've seen the most results with that program alone than with any other. :-)

Been there, done that!!! When I got on the scale on May 1, 2010.... I too cried at how much weight I had gained!! I knew I put on a little weight, but I didn't really change sizes, so I didn't realize how much!! Here I was at a whomping 242 pounds!! That's the same day I hit PLAY on my first P90X workout... and I bawled…

I definitely commend you for this!!! While the scale numbers were originally a driving force to my new lifestyle (and still is to a point - just cause I would like to be at a healthy weight), the measurements/inches and body % numbers are equally as important - and revealing! Yes, I've lost 44 pounds, but I've also lost…

Bump... I've been trying to figure out forever where in the world to pick up the powdered version!
-
That is AWESOME!!! You're doing an amazing job and everyone apparently is noticing!! Keep up the great work.

They are hard to find, but they do exist!! I didn't fine mine till I was 30 (and he was the first serious relationship I've ever had... cause I had THAT much trouble finding the good guys!) LOL
-
Beautifully written... and SO TRUE!! Definitely worth the wait to find one of THOSE guys. And reassuring to remember that I FINALLY found mine. :-)

My friend, ladybug, explained it perfectly. TurboFire is hard core cardio (and so much fun!! Lot of dancing and kickboxing). While ChaLEAN Extreme is strength training. Both are incredible programs. I did a lot of leaning down with CLX by building muscle! Now I'm doing a hybrid with the two programs. I'd recommend either…

Keep with it!! There are times where I don't see any changes on the scale for two-three weeks (thanks to the wonderful creation of the womanly body and its weight fluctuations). Keep at it... Over time, you WILL see a difference. And agreed with the others, perhaps UNDER 1200 is too little. I actually adjusted mine fairly…

I agree!!! And a HUGE congrats to YOU for getting this far. You've gotta feel pretty darn good. :-)
-
You must be floating on Cloud 9!! A huge congrats to you!!

It can definitely be time-consuming - and yes, sometimes a little aggravating for those who might cook your meals. But if you're serious about seeing where you're deficient, it's vitally necessary.

Tomorrow, I am starting Week #13 (of 20) of the TurboFire/CLX Hybrid. My results so far of the first 12 weeks alone are: -6.6 pounds lost -9.45 inches lost -2.7% body fat lost.
-
I too love TurboFire... 6 more weeks till I complete the TurboFire/ChaLEAN Extreme Hybrid program. So I'm starting to consider a new program (and BBL was one of them) to change things up. But I haven't heard how intense it is... I love the more intense programs (though still scared of Insanity and didn't really like P90X).…

You look AMAZING!!! Great job... I'm right behind you... Only 4 pounds away from no longer being obese. And what a glorious day that will be!!! Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!!
-
I was in the same situation... couldn't keep up with P90X, but ChaLEAN Extreme was amazing... And I've seen the best results with it compared to all of the other programs I've worked on. So much so that I made sure to include it in my TurboFire routine too!!

Know the feeling!! But you can totally do it!!

You can absolutely do it!! MFP is a wonderful source of support, motivation and encouragement. Use us as much as you need to. :-)

It's really up to you. I still weigh myself, but really for information gathering. I'm used to gain as much as 6 or 7 pounds, but as the pounds are falling off... that gain is a little less (between 1 and 5). So really, I'm just curious as to how TOM affects me, but I don't let myself get discouraged by that number either.…

Amazing success story!!! You're right, it's all about the LIFESTYLE change, not a fad. In this world, you gotta leave room for "indulging" in the not-so-healthy, but recognizing that eating healthy overall is the best thing. Slow and steady wins the race - and you've done an incredible job!
-
Wow... I can't believe your fiancee would even say that to you!! He totally should love you for you... and if you get healthier along the way, then great. But for that to be THE reason to get healthy, the routine isn't going to last. I agree with the others: you have to do this for YOU! That being said... It's only been…

Love this!!!!!! Definitely put it into perspective... and the slow and steady win the race!! Don't lose sight of that! I knew going in I was going to take 18-24 months to get to my goal. After 12 months under my belt now, I'm only halfway to my goal... so another 12 to go!! Keep it up!!

Agree 100%

That is very interesting!! Thanks for sharing... It makes a lot of sense.

Yes, I'm aware... That's why I do measure everything. My post was just an observation is all.
-
Okay... so the purpose of my post wasn't really to ask for advice... I'm measuring EVERYTHING and am pleased with my results. I was just noticing that the scale moves more slowly when I'm not doing strength training and only doing cardio, and I wondered if anyone else was running into the same scenario.
