This is the calorie adjustment. Depending on your MFP settings (lightly active etc), it already has an average exercise level built in. In your example, the 23 calories means you burnt that much extra than how much is built in to the MFP average calculation. Sometimes, it can come in as a negative if you have done many…

FYI, the Garmin app doesn't count TDEE while a HRM is on.

It is due to your muscles you are working on needing more blood than usual and it is taking it away from your head. If you feel dizzy, just lay down with your feet elevated to get the blood back up the top.

Just wondering if logging exercise, say a run, is like 'double dipping' calories burnt? So if the Fitbit is already counting steps and the calories burnt plus logging the run in MFP?

Hi guys, I use an iphone and GC and MFP have a bit of trouble commuicating but I find that if I have both apps open and sync the vivofit then sometimes it works! Still trying to figure out the best way.... I have a question about running, or any exercise really. If I go for a run, the vivofit counts steps and calories…

Hi guys, i have the same question as the original poster. I want to measure my heart rate at martial arts training but we are not allowed to wear watches for safety reasons. And, I don't have a bra to put one in ;) You can't really put it anywhere on your body in case you or your partner lands on it. Does anyone have any…

Try keeping the mice and rodents down because most of the time that is what they are after. Even if you haven't noticed them in your house, they could be around sheds and garages etc. I don't know if those electronic repellers work, but it can't hurt!

Can I ask where you are getting this food from? Fast food or from home?

All drugs are bad, what matters is the dose.

2,000 calories seems like a lot. I also do martial arts (not as intense as competitive muay thai) but when I compare how I feel during/after training compared to a bike ride or a run (200-400 calories), it definitely isn't 10 times as much. Try not to worry about your body going into starvation too much. MFP tends to over…

A link to an article (with references in the comments below) that I just saw in another thread. http://www.abc.net.au/science/articles/2013/11/12/3889049.htm I am familiar with this Dr's work and he only uses peer-reviewed information and facts.

Because I have done the research but I don't want to force my opinions down other people's throats like many other try. I would rather people make their own opinions and not just rely on what other people say.

Agreed. But all of the suggestions of ice cream are not helping.

Yes buts!!!! Person 1 eats 2000 calories of chocloate and McDoanld's each day and Person 2 eats 2000 calories of meat, fuit and vegetables each day. Lets assume the net calories are the same each day. What do you think the end result will be? Sorry, but a calorie is not a calorie!

Okay, it seems that not many people agree with my advice. Can I please recommend that people do their own research about calorie in vs calorie out. I believe that it helps but it is not the answer - overall wellness is the answer.

Yes, they are natural but also included some high processed ingredients (corn syrup) as well as additves and "natural flavours" whatever that is!! Banana ingredient list - Banana.

Your body will tell you that is is hungry, it can't tell you what to eat!
-
Do your own reseach about how the body absorbs/uses different foods and you will find out the answer to that!

Sugar is addictive. I was addicted as are many other people. I gave it up and it was hard work but after I while the cravings stop and you just don't feel like it any more. It is a far better feeling to not eat it that to eat it. Once you have been to the other side you will know what I mean!

Man made rubbish vs naturally occuring food?? Banana every time.

Do your own research (please, please please don't just rely on these forums. Read some articles/books by doctors, nutritionist etc). However, I will give you my very basic opinion. Use the calorie counting as a guide to limit your daily intake of food in general, excerise, limit packaged food (ie eat real food) and to…

If you are not hungry, then you don't NEED to eat. Your body will tell you if it is "Starving" or needs nutirents. If you are not feeling hungry, you don't need to eat! Please remember that the calorie goals set by us/programs are a guide only - your body will tell you what is right if you listen to it.

This is one of the problems with calorie counting. Alcohol is a drug and other chemical processes are happening when we drink it. For example, every 200ml of beer creates 300ml of urine. Someone above hit the nail on the head - its what we eat when we are drinking that matters. The body deals with these calories in a…

If you are trying to lose weight, then don't eat!
