So most of the studies I have read say that if you have a lot of fat to lose, you do predominantly cardio and you can continue with weight lifting in a high intensity interval pattern. So short rests in between reps to continue with the cardio burn. This helps you lose fat more quickly; then it is better to tone with the…

Emergency RN here... mostly pediatrics, but I work adults too! Glad to see I'm not the only one. Night shift is kicking my butt, though! :)

hey all! I'm new to the group and relatively new to MFP. I'm in the middle of week 2 right now. Where is everyone at in Tucson? I could use a workout buddy! :)

I use one in measuring out my portions at home. I love it and it's definitely helped me eyeball sizing better... I'm getting familiar with what 4 oz of rice looks like, etc.

!! Jealous. Awesome music. I know of xdeathstarx too. I play in a punk hardcore band... makes shows for a good workout. Though, I'm still new enough that I'm still learning how to really move and play without screwing up too bad! Maybe y'all make it out to our area soon. Or hit me up; we sometimes help or can point to…

AH! You're in Impending Doom. <3 Saw y'all play at Face Down fest a few years ago. Love it.

I play bass! I was way excited when I saw that MFP had a calorie option for musicianship... so when I'm standing and playing for 80 minutes for practice, I can count the calories! I think feeling better has a lot to do with food choices. That can be especially difficult if you're touring all the time and the band's only…

Not technically a disability but I've had asthma since I was little and it can be aggravated by running/intense physical activity. The more complicating factor of this for me is that I've been on some sort of medication related to it that causes tachycardia for years. So to compound my already out of shape heart, it speeds…

Ah! It says you're in culinary school on your profile... it'd be really hard not to be here, I think! At least, surrounded by food and cooking all the time... I'd have to keep tracking to maintain :) welcome back.

So a diet around 900 calories a day for two weeks or more is clinically considered a starvation diet. When you eat under 1200 calories, the body says, "oh no! we don't have enough to meet our demand." and it begins to HOLD onto what's in the body and won't let it go. The primary thing it holds onto? Fat. The other thing…

How do you like the P90x? Is it pretty accessible for home use? I've considered doing something like that but think I'd poop out too quickly! Working on getting a Wii fit soon to supplement with that...

Thanks! I've been doing run5k app... and hope if I can manage, I'll switch to the 10k app sometime after I figure out how to run the 5k! The app pretty much does the same! :)

Another RN here! I work 12 hour nights in a busy pediatric ER and float to adult ER. Always junk in the area :/ I'm hoping to switch t days to feel a little more normal. I seem to hold my weight on nights! :)

I'm starting with a goal of 30 lbs, but ultimately, I'd like to lose 60! I'd like a buddy, too. I just started this thing and am on my second week...
