As I think I have mentioned elsewhere I drink red on a disGUSTingly regular basis and plenty of it. And I look awesome. ;)

I just wanted to post to say that the iOS app is awesome. Techies don't get enough credit so here's some from me. :)

Thanks but a bit gutless for me, you have reminded me that I have a large bottle of Coopers Extra Stout in the fridge though ... 382 'empty' calories well consumed ... ;)

I'm a geek and happy to be one. :) I also have fitness interests (obviously) and latterly meta-physical interests (there IS no spoon ;)) Qualifications for geekdom you say? Software engineer for 20+ years, loved my ZX81 (with RAM pack, look them up kids!), loved Elite on my Acorn Electron (couldn't afford a BBC Model B), I…

Pole Dance.

I've never logged it, I don't log exercise either. I figure they cancel each other out. Mental, I know, working OK though. Jeez I look awesome. ;)

Yep, and here speaks a man with a Grok t-shirt.

I would take view there is no past, no future, just right now ... You are not the same person you were and you can choose to be whatever the kind of person you can imagine right now. Just by making good choices one after the other.

I think my past regains or failures to do as well as I could boiled down to me not believing I deserved it. A lack of self esteem basically. That and not tracking, just eating ridiculously low and over exercising. I think health starts in the mind, if you can get this sorted it makes life easier. Yeh, calories in/out and…

Good luck, I am duty bound to mention Allen Carr's Easy Way book as my recommendation. I quit cold turkey after 20 years thanks to that... You can't crave what you don't want, no willpower required. :)

Slim trousers, extra large underwear.

No, no, no and fracking hell jeysus no. And I have read Wheat Belly.

^^ not those ^^ In my experience getting wankered on booze has no parallel for unwindyability. Maybe I should try meditation or some such metaphysical shyte. Or not, dunno, but red wine really hits my buttons. And I look awesome with it. Damn I'm good. :)

Just maintain a deficit and do some walking? Surely it can't be that simple. Works for me too. ;) No point in restricting carbs unless you have a good diagnosed medical reason to, just eat what you like and is sustainable for you.

Absolutely, there is no magic. I've been down the Low Carb rabbit hole, there IS no better solution than calories in vs out. No magic,no raspberry ketones, no insulin = 'fat storage hormone' woo woo. It all (fat burning) comes back down to burning more energy than is being consumed. Occam's Razor ... The most simple…

Track it Make healthy choices a habit (nutrition and exercise) The fewer rules the better, keep it simple and sustainable It's not a sprint Enjoy the process, we are incredibly lucky to be alive

Interesting study on the effects of a high calcium diet on fat excretion ... the doco is on YouTube, quite interesting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/humanbody/truthaboutfood/slim/calcium.shtml Mmmm, milk and cheese ...

I'm going to stop thinking I can be anything other than mindbendingly awesome. And I'll be munching a shed load of 'processed carbs' while I'm doing it. ;)

Dairy Milk Choc Chip and I make room for it EVERY day, :)

A very nasty (and expensive) Pizza at a restaurant near the beach on Santorini. I very nearly peed in their pool as revenge. Followed closely by spouts, anywhere.

Scientific evidence also says that the 'manlier' the avatar and nickname the more likely the actual poster is to be a under-developed specimen of a human being still living with his mother. Just sayin'. ;)

Sugar makes you fat? This isn't one of those 'insulin is the devil' things is it? If so, oh dear.

Sandy Denny, awesome voice indeed. Choice #2 - Always look on the bright side of life ... Not so bad once you're up, etc

If you like 'em then eat them. The whole GI thing fails to take into account the composition of the meal, the existing contents of the stomach, the fibre content of the meal, etc. Find out for yourself but I'd wager most people do just fine with a spud or two, mashed or not. ;)

Yeh, as others say, busting the sugar target won't cause you any harm. I regularly have apples, bananas and pack away the occasional cheeky Snickers bar, it's all good as long as you maintain the deficit. I just ignore the sugar. I do the same with eggs and the fat content ... sorry, nobody is going to tell me the yolks…

I'd be making sure my life was 100% perfect before I waded into what is somebody else's business. Maybe she'll live to 110 and have a happy life all the while munching the ice cream. In the meantime maybe the stress of trying to keep the numbers on MFP green will drive other people to eating disorders. Each to their own,…

Walking is my main exercise ... every day after work in whatever weather I do about 7km by walking straight past train stations I could use but choose not to. Great not just for burning some energy but for mental health, getting in touch with your surroundings and all that. I also take the stairs over lifts everywhere and…
