I notice a difference in how I feel and how my clothes fit before I really see any other differences

Fruit is great for you as well as other vegetables and plant based foods -- it's the things like meats and processed foods that are hurting your body.

I have a setting on my Garmin 920XT for strength training that just tracks time and heart rate -- that will give me an estimate of how much my body has been working during lifting as far as cardio.

If you eat a whole foods plant based diet you'll get plenty of fibre -- but you have to stay away from the "vegan junk foods" that will compromise your diet.

I'm Ken. I started running about 7 years ago and have done a 5K, 10K, 10 miler, and a half but never was really serious about running. Starting with July I am officially training for a half while also cross training with spin classes and some strength training. Hopefully will be ready to actually run a half about end of…

You sound a bit like me. I was a obese couch potato until about 8 years ago. Both my parents died of an assortment of diseases and were sick for years before death. I finally decided to do something about my health and started to eat better, then added running, then gym workouts, etc. It's taken forever, but I now eat a…

I tried it and eased into it as instructed but ended up with injuries to both ankles -- one healed very quickly the other took months and I did Bikram yoga for most of a year to get it back into shape. I've discovered that I tend to run better in cushioned footwear (Hoka's) vs. minimalist types.

I bought a chiropractic package on Groupon which included a 1 hour massage in his office -- his therapist found some arthritis on worked the joints for me -- some of it was very painful at first but feels great once they are done. I ended up getting a second massage at the same office and had the same points checked from…

I did Bikram yoga for about a year -- loved the heat but it's an intense workout. Try different forms or even just different teachers. I would still be doing Bikram if I had the time/money for it.

As others have said, only water counts as water.... however I do add some Nuun tablets to some of my water, particularly for spinning and running.

I live in NJ where they pump it for us just like in Oregon -- and the gas is cheaper in our state than the neighboring states.... figure that one out!

I bought one last year and my favorite recipe is a veggie and bean soup -- was just thinking of making it tonight since were getting intensely cold weather and would be a perfect night for hot soup...

I'd recommend yoga, especially a heated yoga course if allowed by your doctor -- lots of stretching and twisting without putting any extra weight on your back

I wear a FlipBelt for running and iphone fits well into one of the pockets. At the gym I usually don't have my phone with me but if I do my running pants have a specific cell phone slot/pocket, and most of my shorts have either a pocket or pouch that I can put it into.

Black! I'm following a plant based diet and got tired of worrying about creamers -- much easier to drink in hot and black.

MY old gym had a few rags and a spray bottle around to wipe down equipment -- unfortunately I don't think the rags were very clean and who knows what was in the spray bottles. My new gym has stations all over with wet wipes so you can take a fresh wipe, use it on your equipment, and then toss it out. It's a rule in the…
