In the past I have had 2 FitBit's - both were very inaccurate and 1 was recalled for a full refund. I use a Garmin 920XT and really like it. I tried the Garmin Venu but it caused a burn on my wrist and they gave me a full refund for it. In general, Garmin is the preferred tracker of many athletes.

I'm currently 61 - was a fat couch potato until about 53 -- since then have been running, taking spin classes, done weight training, etc. I am active here on MFP and am currently specializing in StrongLifts 5x5 - just recently injured my left leg/hip and was on a break while that recovered and am now sitting around waiting…

Check out StrongLifts 5x5 as an introduction to strength training - starts with just the bar and gets heavy fairly quickly. As far as loosing fat, check out Dr. Jason Fung (The Obesity Code). I personally use StrongLifts and follow a mostly carnivore diet.

Eat fat and protein, give your body something to work with. Eating frequently, will also cause repeated insulin spikes and your body will never burn any fat, it will run on all of the carbs/sugar your giving it. Slimfast shakes sell so well because people keep buying them - nobody gets slim fast on Slimfast.

Check out zero carb diet and Carnivore diet - they are extreme versions of keto but a much easier to actually follow and require no supplements to be added.

Skip the pills and potions. Try a keto diet (I follow a 90% carnivore diet) and get regular rest and exercise. You want lasting results, not just to drop a few pounds today and gain more back next week.

I'm lifting way under your amounts and I have found that a good quality lifting belt helps a great deal. It makes the lifts easier and I have less sore muscles the next couple of days.

Another vote for StrongLifts 5x5 - I use the app on my iphone and don't have to worry about what I need to do next and recording of what has been done is just a few simple taps on the screen.

For strength training I use an app called StrongLifts 5x5 - I organizes my weight training. For running and cycling I would suggest runmeter or cyclemeter -- there both good apps.
