Probably a question for your Physio. Following their suggestions is always a good idea when recovering from surgery or just injury.

Even when I give myself permission to drop any accessory work when I'm tired, I almost always wind up doing everything in my program anyways. Repeated "I'm exhausted" would be brought up with my coach to figure out how to adjust to all my other life demands.
-
@Wheelhouse15 - thanks. Hoping I can sneak up and take silver although as long as I get my planned second I'll be happy.
-
Lmao. I actually had to go look and count at current records. Still have 4, one of which is a world record. I just want my APU records back and chip away until I'm challenging Sara for the national ones.

And again, any ref who would automatically red light a squat for forward toes doesn't know what they are talking about. May or may not have held a record or two.
-
I missed it :( a major role model for sure, and I can't wait to watch her bench in person one day.
-
Yeah. Let's force only high bar squats (only 3cm lower than the top of the anterior deltoid allowed). Interesting how their rule book says nothing about foot stance other than the normal don't move your feet between the squat and rack commands. It's not a common stance but narrow stance feet straight does work for some…

@_incogNEATo_ - I'm trying on the whole eating business. The last thing I need is to miss weight under.

This. I respect the years of education that my coach has and the decades of practical experience. I happily pay him for custom programming for that reason, and don't share the ins and outs of the program's again for that reason
-
Actually super happy with this one. 93.5kg/205.7lb. This makes a 70% increase in my bench over the last two years. Now to actually eat for the next two weeks so I can have a good meet. https://instagram.com/p/BLjbgVihqFj/

Practise practise practise. Find someone willing to stand there and give you the commands. Waiting for a press command is different than just a simple pause.

I have days focused on one or more of the big three. In terms of what I do that is isolation for my arms, hammer curls, Tate press, JM press are staples in my programming.
-
Not exactly a newby, with my 16th competition coming up in two weeks, but it's always exciting to see new lifters come out and have fun. At your first meet, and until you decide to compete at higher levels, no one but you cares how much you are lifting. Did you go out, have fun, possibly set a new personal best? Awesome!…

I know a few people who have squats either the same or slightly higher than their deadlift. Frequently it's people who have a massive mechanical advantage in their squat.
-
@_incogNEATo_ - nice fight! Nice to see someone set safeties properly to. 102.5kg/225lb for a triple to a three board. 17 days out and can't wait to see what I pull off on the platform. https://instagram.com/p/BLcCmmmhRIA/

The first time I benched 60kg. I had been working for it for what felt like forever and finally got it. Just recently, nailing a bench at 91+ kg for the third week in a row. Sinking in that I am benching over 200 pounds now. But perhaps what I'm most proud of is my second deadlift from westerns in 2014. My neck injury had…

Major ditz today. First, someone had changed around our chains at the gym - usually there is one set of collars that has rope attached so that the chains all lay on the floor at the bottom of the press. Then when I weighed the chains to check, I saw the 11 on the scale and just assumed pounds, and went, perfect, 5kg a…

About the only thing I do on a regular basis machine wise is wide grip seated rows. A better carryover to bench than other rowing moves.
-
The funniest is when a number of us are all peaking for the same competition and we have all hit overreached. A gym full of lost puppies is funny in retrospect even if we are questioning our sanity in the moment.
-
Agreed. Knowing that the safeties are really right there and all you have to do is drop a little lower gives all sorts of mental confidence. Practising a time or two takes all the mystery away.
-
I find that any particularly taxing day will just drain me. Nothing crazy, just an extra cup or two of coffee and I'm good. Most of my teammates find the same thing. One of them today was pretty funny. His training day placed a very heavy load on his nervous system (a massive pr on his shirted bench and then some heavy…

Seriously awesome.

Building up the pecs won't do much to lift the breasts.
-
Prs deserve to get spammed all over the place! Especially when you've been working so hard for them.
-
I'm just going to love this every place I can
-
Awesome!
-
So I've added 5kg to my bench in a single 4 weeks training cycle. With visually room for so much more. Still, 92.5kg/203.5lb for an easy looking single. https://instagram.com/p/BLALuMJByLk/

How is the op being offensive? Hmm, let's consider the specific form of abuse she decided to try and compare squats to. It's being belittled over the slightest, smallest perceived error. It's being gas lighted until that person can tell you the sky is green and you'll agree with them because you no longer trust your own…
-
This. I can't remember ever blistering from lifting. Calluses. Yup. Love them though.
-
Don't like squats? Then it's simple. Don't do them. Find a program that doesn't include them. I just don't find anything even slightly humorous about comparing them to an anusive partner.
