Bump.

Even if you don't have a measurable change - you are looking more cut for sure - especially your abs! You look fantastic now - can't imagine what you will look like at the end!

Longterm studies of people who lost and kept off a substantial amount of weight show that daily weighing is an important factor in longterm success. Personally, it makes me crazy but it also keeps me in line and motivated to make healthy choices. Also, if I don't weigh daily my water weight gains can mask overall losses.

1 Scoop protein, 1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 cup milk - delicious and filling with added fiber.

9 lbs is great! Congrats! You are within the healthy body weight range for someone your height with a large frame. If you don't have a large frame (there are calculators out there to determine frame size from wrist and elbow measurements) the healthy weight range for someone 5'4" with a small frame is 104-127 and for…

I choose to keep mine open because I like the accountability. I also appreciate when others keep theirs open so I can get new food ideas to stay within my macros and offer support or ideas to them when/if needed. Also, when people ask for help, it is really hard to offer constructive, thoughtful advice on a closed diary.…

It is tricky finding the right combination of diet and exercise to meet your goals and can be extremely frustrating. I know for me I am up and down every day, but every few weeks both my high and lows on the scale go down - so overall I am on the right (albeit painfully slow) path and, more importantly than the scale…

Even though I never exceeded my calorie allowance, I thought my alcohol consumption might be at the root of my plateau so I gave it up for a week and it made no difference. At home I drink vodka and diet lemon-aid with added water (to make it a tall). Adding the water makes it last longer and keeps it from being overly…

One other thought - if you are eating a really high fiber diet without much fat that can make things difficult. Are you getting enough healthy fats from nuts, avocados, olive oil, etc? That could help too!

Sounds like you are doing everything right - so perhaps you are having same issues as my friend who found relief with the magnesium. I would try the magnesium supplements and maybe a pro-biotic to boot. Maybe your intestinal flora is off? I know if I take anti-biotics for any reason it messes with my tummy for a few weeks…

First - congrats on being BELOW goal! Amazing! Now brace yourself for potty talk. As a mom of two with a gastroenterologist in the family, it doesn't bother me! I weigh daily too; my weight swings +/- 2 depending on water, sodium and "regularity." Your (de)hydration levels are likely the source of your weight…

Northern CA, see my 85 year old grandma. She is amazing. :flowerforyou:

Don't get too down on yourself. Sounds like you are exercising a ton so that is not the problem. Stay within your calorie allotment, feed your muscles plenty of protein, make sure your carbs come mostly from veggies and keep hydrated. The weight will come off.

Thanks for posting - it seems pretty accurate as my weight loss is very slow and sometimes masked by water weight. Nice to see when I could arrive at goal if I keep making healthy choices.

So frustrating! Looking through a few weeks of entries in your food and exercise diaries I would suggest getting more and more vigorous cardio like the hill intervals you were doing on the treadmill (I wouldn't consider the dog walking cardio - it is more of bonus exercise) and flip flopping your protein and carb ratios.…

Last year I was running 25-30 miles a week and doing circuit training with lots of plyometric components on a concrete floor with just a thin pad. My left leg (below the knee) started bothering me (hurt to put weight on it) and my calf area swelled noticeably. I went to the Dr. and he said that I may have a deep tissue…

I used to think the clams of low-crab enthusiasts were a bunch abalone. But since switching to low-crab, I've changed my tuna. I'm getting boat-loads of compliments on my mussels and my hubby even said my bass looks better.

I try to avoid talking about weight at all since it makes many people defensive, as though they are thinking, "If she thinks that she needs to lose weight, then what must she think of me?" So if they tell you that you don't need to lose weight, you could just say, "Thanks!" and then change the subject by asking them a…

I have a pair of jeans that at my thinnest were a little loose that I would love to be able to wear again comfortably. I am only 4 lbs from that low weight, but last time I tried them they give me obscene muffin top. Who would have thought losing 7 lbs would be such a long drawn out process? :noway:

People who fart on the treadmill next to me and/or have overpowering B.O. :grumble: Men who try to corner you and talk to you while working out despite having headphones on and avoiding eye-contact.

What she said. I did the same thing a few years ago when I ran and circuit trained daily, ate next to nothing( and zero meat), and drank daily. I was depressed and these are my coping mechanisms taken to the extreme but it REALLY took a toll on my body. When you are not adequately feeding your body it de-prioritizes all…

So frustrating! I totally understand and have posted a similar thread in past weeks. I have shifted around the same few lbs for 4 months now, so I am constantly changing things up to see what will work in terms of net calories, workouts, etc. Lately however, my highs have been lower and my lows have also been lower and…

Annoying but true - those fluctuations can really mask progress. So if not already tracking, add sodium to your tracker, log water then weigh in daily and you will get a good sense of how your body reacts to your daily sodium intake. If you add lemon to your water it can also help you shed excess water weight.

I have several "twins" on here but would love to have more! Me: Female Age 41 5'9" SW 140 CW 136 GW 130ish or BF 19-20%

15?! It is hard to believe that you had that many pounds to lose! You were gorgeous in your before pic - but don't look as confident. You are gorgeous in your after pics as well and look happy and healthy! Congrats on losing 15 lbs - that is no small feat!

You are eating a lot of simple sugars that spike you blood sugar levels then quickly fall - which could be a big part of the problem. Try adding some fat and protein to your snacks and breakfast to stabilize your blood sugar and give you more consistent energy. Maybe instead of a bagel you could have two eggs cooked in…

Funny - we were posting virtually the same thing at the same time!!

1.That I was consistently under-eating and that being cold, cranky and shedding my hair at an alarming rate was proof of this. 2. At the same time, I have realized that I can eat A TON of healthy foods on a daily basis and maintain my weight - more than I thought was possible. 3. That having friends on MFP to share the…

Wow - amazing to have all of this in one place! Thanks for building and sharing it with everyone on MFP!

I did the BodPod and it was $50 or $75 for two. I think it was an older machine (it didn't give me my BMR - just my lean body mass and body fat percentages) and the lady (a chiropractor) who owned it said I should not eat more than 1200 calories per day (under my BMR!). I was surprised by the 26% reading in the BodPod as I…
