Haven't done it myself but my friend had good results, so best of luck to you!

Different sense of humour. I've always liked my jokes funny. It's a strange preference, which develops in middle age. Or much younger, or in some cases, never...

Hard to help, without a few more bits of information...

Nope, happy middle aged woman. We can spot bull**** a long way off, never mind so obvious as this.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/740668-i-m-a-18yo-female-home-alone-parents-out-of-town Must be because you do so very much to avoid this terrible unwanted attention I'd say. How awful for you.... Maybe you should get more fresh air and exercise? And concentrate on your all important family.

HA! Men and women are generally built a little differently... just how many situps can you do, without adding weights?

Who owns/pays for/lives in the house? If it's all you then it's your call. If he lives with you and shares the bills then you should have discussed with him as it will affect his lifestyle too. If he doesn't split the costs but stays with you anyway; then it's your call also - she's your friend, and you decide what works…

Why? The (rather unrealistic heroine) is a virginal and unbelieviably naive college student... Do many Mommy's fantasise about the red room of pain? Oh and yeah - I read the first book, it had a strange compulsive quality which got me reading it even though I thought the writing and characterisation were poor. I think it's…

How tall are you? As well as push ups being in general tougher for women than for men height can be an issue, so I've been told since joining this site, the proportions involved with greater height making them harder. I've never been able to do a push up, ever, even at my lightest and fittest (which certainly isn't now,…

I lost 14lb in the first month. Make the most of it (as long as you're eating properly) and don't worry!

Poor spelling...

It's something that had never occurred to me - I don't iron any bedlinen and I'm not precise about folding, they get washed, dried, and stacked

Rinse well (it can hold sand in the tips), test for breaking point as advised (or you can peel the lower stems with a potato peeler so they're less fibrous and cook with the rest of the stem). Practice roasting, steaming and grilling - you just need to test with the point of a sharp knife until tender. The spears should…

Cook in a pan - melt a tiny bit of butter, add the juice of half a lemon, and cook for about 10 mins. Steam, for plain and simple - about 10 minutes. Stirfry, with other veg. Added raw to a risotto, and cooked for 10 mins or so. In a quiche - added raw and baked. Or my fave - wrap bundles (3-5 spears) in a slice of…

I used to, in my younger days. As a child I hardly ate anything but chocolate, and I still pigged on it as a young adult. I used to drink my coffee with 6 sugars, and scoff cake. Ironically, I was always very thin... I don't know how to help with the transition, because it's just happened naturally for me; all I know is…

Hideous shoes. An annoying laugh. Unfunny jokes.

40/30/30 - and i'm rarely anywhere near my carb allowance. I just try to get my protein to as near or over 100g as I can, and at least 20g fibre, plus getting in 5 portions of veg/fruit per day. The rest seems to sort itself out.

Oooh I just remembered - with fresh sage and a little strong blue cheese, some homemade chicken stock and brown rice, make a risotto (stirring in pre roasted cubes of bns to heat through for the last few minutes). Yum, and I want some NOW!

I lose my appetite too - a big part of joining MFP for me has been trying to get my eating patterns more stable. Eating little or nothing, sometimes for days, with Chinese takeaways and alcohol as replacements did me no favours whatsoever...

I always cube and roast, and I don't usually peel them. They just need longer roasting at a slower temperature if you leave the skin on. Then the pieces go in salads (lovely with giant cous cous, tomatoes, mint and feta) or in casseroles. I've also had them sliced, tossed with seasoning and some parmesan, and roasted.…

I get it every year. It doesn't prevent all flu strains, just the more prevalent ones, but I haven't had a bad go of flu since I started getting vaccinated. Also, I've never had flu symptoms after getting the jab - but I'm in the UK maybe things are different here.

I don't know - I grieve for a perfectly good grape turned into something revolting :(

This is a spelling one, so common on this website; ect instead of etc. Always reminds me of psychiatric patients having horrible treatment...

This is MFP - if you're doing it you need to count calories, not WW points... but enjoy your black eyed peas, just make sure they're within your goals.

I've never heard of this before. I do have photos, lots of them, in a box that I keep meaning to organise into albums - they include exes, because they were part of my life for a while. Things like holidays, mad cars, Christmases with with one ex who had 2 young boys, pets... all part of my life experience. But I don't…

ESFJ - seems accurate!

It's easy to get into a sort of loop of day to day acceptance of things which are actually quite abnormal to an outsider - I know this from experience!

Some of the digestive problems may come from the starvation you've inflicted on yourself. As they took time to develop, they'll take time to recover from too, and it may not be smooth or comfortable progress. Talking to a specialist is probably your best bet, if that's possible? In the meantime go with eating high calorie…

I just ordered the Hairy Bikers diet cookbook as I want some new ideas

Fair point - my background's in mental health not sports medicine and I didn't know about this - very interesting.
