  • Don't WASTE food on your WAIST!! Freeze it for later, or make a plate and walk it over to a neighbor, friend, stranger you'd like to meet
  • CANDY DISH - if the candy is not individually wrapped, then don't eat it for health reasons, think of all the hands (that might not have been washed) that have gone into it. if you must have some candy, have one while you walk the loooooong way around back to your office. CAKES/COOKIES/DESSERTS -- probably not home made,…
  • use a can of LaCroix flavored sparkling water and it's awesome (and those that worry about the "diet soda" issues are minimilized)....you can also spoon in the middle (prior to baking) a small amount of no-sugar-added fruit spread (or for that matter use it on top as a icing :)

  • I know it can be a total bummer! Hate the scale (but also can't live without it)! Can't see your food diary, could it be sodium? or lots of processed foods? Then there's the old "don't eat 2-hours before going to bed" issue. Hang in there...don't get discouraged (yeah, easier said than done)

  • Stir-Don't-Fry: I start with what I like to refer to as "freebie veggies" (as they have such minimal calories: garlic, onion, celery, peppers (all types). Cut up about a cup , add to it a cup or two of main veggies: snow peas, broccoli, califlower, squash, cabbage (pretty much a freebie), shrooms, carrots, asparagus.…

  • Iron is a rough one. You want to try and get all that you can via foods and not iron supplements; as iron supplements can have a stomach cramping, constipation issues! So remember dried plums (sounds so much better than prunes) help there. Don't take iron supplements with calcium (yet something women need lots of too).…

  • So you were one of the few that sacrificed and gave blood! Wonderful, thank you! From someone who can't give blood (ie give life, help a life, help others) I appreciate your time and giving! • You have taken the big step to start! Yeah for you! You want to do this and you can! Once you start seeing the calorie/fat content in things, you'll push back on the types and amounts of foods you eat. And as my grandmother has always said "Pushing back from the table is one of the best exercises to do daily"! Happy Day!
