  • I have a feeling most of the "boost your metabolism" foods work on a very small scale. That being said, i know coffee definitely boosts my motivation at 5:30am when I go to the gym. :drinker:
  • Basic "Bread" 1c FF Greek Yogurt 1c Oat Bran 3 eggs 2T baking powder 1/4-1/2 tsp salt Mix all and bake at 350 for about 45 min or so... I start checking on it at about 35, and take it out when it's browned on top... please understand that I'm not an exact science kind of gal. ;-) In Attack, this makes 10 servings. In…
  • I did the same thing... Hiked for about 3 hours last weekend. Logged it and saw what it was trying to tell me I burned :noway:. Not sure if it makes assumptions of speed, because it didn't ask how far I got in how long, just how long. Anyways - I figured I'd cut it in half and only count the "uphill" part as hiking...…
  • Breakfast: Eggs w/ff sour cream (and sometimes some lean ham) Oat Bran "muffin" Lunch: Chicken breast with rosemary, pan seared - no oil Hebrew National Reduced Fat Beef Franks Some sort of Miracle Noodle concoction Dinner: Beef in chili powder with garlic (crockpot meal) 93% lean ground beef meatloaf with lots of…
  • Fast food places do have salads...
  • 66F, and finally SUNNY in Anchorage... :glasses:
  • When I first started, I thought I could "get through it quicker" by running EVERY day (M-Sa). I did not progress as quickly as I'd hoped. In fact my body responded much better and I progressed better when I kept the non-C25K days in there and ran only 3 days/week...
  • I LOVE teas! I always have a huge variety on hand. The Numi Variety Box is really cool... 18 pouches of all different teas - green, black & herbal. Some of my favorites: Gunpowder Green, Sencha, Rooibos, Honeybush, Magnolia Pu-erh... :drinker: And, with "standard" green teas, I usually do what I call a "bag rinse", where I…

  • Welcome, glad to hear you and your family are doing so well! Add sent. Looking forward to accompanying you on your journey. :flowerforyou:
  • I have always had a "water appetite"... I can easily drink 160+ oz every day of plain water. I'm fine... still alive, and no water retention issues.
  • Water weight? TOM? Constipation? Or could just be a blip that'll correct itself in the next few days... I wouldn't worry unless it becomes a trend. (easier said than done, i know)
  • I know what you mean. I had a moment today... Went to the gym and thought "Wow, i feel great... Making progress, etc". Then I undressed for the shower and pop went my balloon. Lots of work left. Hang in there, keep working it and it'll work!
  • I've been on the Pandora Latin cardio station lately...
  • Probably won't make sense to most of you (unless you're in a cold-weather location), and won't look super hott or anything, but I really want to be able to be cozy in a down skirt without worrying about how much "extra bulk" it will add.
  • I "cheat" a bit by eating a small container of fruit flavored ff light greek yogurt. For cheese, I've been using a slice of ff kraft sharp cheddar. I try to keep these things to a minimum; I know they aren't ideal, but they've been good crutches for damage control/prevention...

  • Eggs Greek yogurt (plain) Chicken breast Canned tomatoes Oat bran And, not specifically "food", but condiments that I always have: Sriracha Sour Cream Mustard Tapatio/Cholula Tabasco Teriyaki
  • Raindance - 27
  • Ff Greek yogurt, cocoa powder, stevia. Tastes like chocolate cheesecake. :flowerforyou:
  • Sirloin Steak and Zucchini - both on the grill Tomato, Cucumber, Feta salad (not on the grill )
  • I've made a "chili" for my PP days that's been pretty good... Just add meat to the crockpot with chili powder, minced garlic, cumin, cinnamon, oregano and salt/pepper. The juices from the meat combine with the spices to make a nice "sauce". You can Google recipes for Chile Colorado to get an idea of quantities.
  • Salsa and ff sour cream, homemade nonfat tzatziki, plain ol' balsamic vinegar sometimes. You can use greek yogurt/sour cream as a base for pretty much any spices (curry, garlic, etc) and make the dressing as thick or thin as you want with milk...
  • From what I can tell, Dukan is focused on creating a diet out of real foods - the ones that are naturally low in fat/sugar, not the ones that have a fat/sugar substitute. That being said, I did use a small amount today... about 1/2 tsp to flavor some Greek Yogurt. I don't plan on making it a staple, but sometimes a girl…
  • No - kids can't just come in and hang out. But it's not just the kids... I don't like ANYONE else in our room. :noway:
  • I go to PF, and actually really like it - at least the one I go to. It's only $10/month and while it's not the "elite gym" - I am a firm believer in that you get out of something what you put into it. For my goals, I can go and get a really good workout in that includes both strength and cardio. They have upbeat music on…
  • I'm going to hope a reasonably modified version works... I don't do well with the different-meals-for-each-member-of-the-family thing, so our PP/PV rhythm will be largely dictated by my husband's work schedule. We'll be doing PV on days when he's got customer meetings, and PP on days that he doesn't - keeping an eye on…
  • Orange roughy, halibut and cod are also not very fishy. They work well in picatta-style recipes, or in parchment with onions and asparagus/other veggies. Salmon is surprisingly good on the grill with a light coating of bbq sauce.
  • SW 157 CW 154.5 GW 128 The thinnest I've been is about 117 - and seeing as I'm now closer in age to 40 than 30 - I'm ok with the little bit extra. :) I did 5 days of attack and am on day 3 of cruise. The initial loss wasn't as much as I'd hoped, but I'll take anything in the right direction. GLA!
