i went primal a while back and i have felt great ever since. im no longer slave to cravings, rashes i have had for 12 years are gone and my hypertension is gone. and now that my weight is down i have started occasionally eating Rice , or potatoes.

i follow primal for the most part. its not a religion to me though so i will stray and occasionally have some rice, or potatoes.

I can't imagine any obeses person blaming carots for their weight problem.

In my experience there are a lot of different diets that work and all the diets have one thing in common, once you go off them and return to your old eating habits, the weight will come back. No matter how you lose it, you need to find a healthy eating plan that you can live with once your goal is attained.

exactly! i used a low carb diet to get close to my goal and have now added potatoes and limited amounts of rice back into my diet. im currently netting about 2000 to 2500 calories a day with about 100 grams of carbs, and im still losing weight. then i come on here and get lectured by some 23 year old girl netting less than…

you mean like those great books you read that cant even get cause of death correct? when those authors have so little intellectual honesty on that ,what else are they leaving out? by the way im low carb and im doing great.

You keep making yourself look less and less informed. He did not die of a heart attack. And by the way he also ate carbs. He simply promoted limiting them for weight loss.

It always cracks me up when people who diet with massive calorie deffacits ( starvation diets ) talk about low carb being bad because you can't do it forever.

anything with salmon

i consider my diet primal also, and despite what people think its not a diet that says you can never stray off for a cheat meal every now and then. most people stick to trying to eat about 80% of their meals on it and the other 20% not. in fact i believe robb wolf (who is one of the bigger names in paleo) eats white rice…

it depends how your body reacts to it. i find it easier to eliminate it from my diet especially since i have allergic reactions to it in the form of rashes ,and my cravings are lower because of it. but it does make a great post workout food.

I didn't realize this was a rant. I just saw the word bacon and got excited.
-
I do agree we should limit nitrates but I believe the body naturally produces it to.
-
I like my bacon dripping with grease. My uncle would use the grease to make wilted lettuce.
-
You can get your bacon uncured or at least no nitrites. I know why nitrates are bad but I'm not sure why the curing is necessarily bad. I'm not against processed food as long as its not done with toxic chemicals.

just buy your own pork belly and make your own.

maybe because dietary cholesterol is one of the most over rated dangers . It's next to meaningless to me.

has any person on here actually advocated any where near 3 hours of working out a day? i workout maybe 20 minutes a day average.

true, but i could also argue this is a nutrition forum, not an animal rights forum. if you can not read where people are consuming meat and at least keep it civil you shouldn't be on here. i'm anti abortion so it would be inappropriate for me to hang out in a planned parenthood group.
-
Exactly! No one group is immune.

well i believe verging on vegan is his wife. so i guess they balance each other out.

we can't eat exactly like someone in the wild. unless i want to move to some remote location in alaska, which i don't. but i have removed heavily processed foods, simple carbs, and fast food from my diet and i no longer find it necessary to count calories. I'm someone who has had a weight problem for many years.
-
im actually referring to animals in their natural environment eating the foods nature intended for them. house pets like us consume a diet high in simple carbs.

yes. i am a pig

I would like to say that I have read a lot of your posts and you are a great example of a vegan who is outspoken and still polite and respectful to people that disagree with you

Thats what I do and I have lost 50 lbs and my hypertension is now a thing of the past. I've had 7 slices of wrights bacon today.

i worked with a guy for a while who could eat at a chinese buffet for lunch downing 2 or 3 plates of food, and then eat a huge mexican food dinner in the evening after having mcdonalds biscuits for breakfast. he weighed about 120 pounds and didnt have near the muscle mass i have. oh and in the evening he would sit around…

yes some people can eat large amounts of junk and not gain. but that doesn't mean they won't develop diabetes or other diseases from those choices.
