motivation is the hardest part, for almost everyone i think. I think the biggest key is to find something you enjoy. For me i spent weeks and weeks at the start of my lifestyle change doing the elliptical, treadmill, stationary bike.. hated every minute of it, it was all I could do to make myself go three days a week....…

I have nothing to add except that sounds yummy, if I only liked shrimp

Do it for you, not for anyone else. You are the only one who can make the change, and you CAN. One day at a time, one meal at a time, one moment at a time. I, too, have alot of weight to lose, and if i focus on that it is hard. I find that if I make smaller goals at a time (a 5 pound mark, or even a 3 pound mark to get in…

stretching, warm ups, and cool downs are all VERY important as well as making sure you are using correct form for any activity you are doing.. dont sacrifice form to add more weight, or go a little faster, or go a little longer... when your form suffers, so does your body. Take it easy, but get back at it. If you body is…

well, I stepped on the scale today and it read 298...for the first time in longer than I can remember I was not in the 300's! I will never be in the 300s again! My goal, obviously, will take me under 200, but its a start, 8 weeks, 28 pounds :)

I want to thank everyone for motivation... i broke down and went to the spinning class this morning, just got home, tiiirrred! The instructor was very nice and explained everything well. It probably didn't hurt that there were two other noobs in class too... The instructor noticed I was wearing a HRM and asked if she could…

by the spinning class at my gym. I walk buy it all the time, but I am afraid to try it. I am afraid this fat girl will die trying a class, or that people will look at me like "what is that fat girl doing in here" especially if I cant keep up at first.... one day I will try it.... :ohwell:

i know the OP is looking for smoothies out of the house, but... i make my own at home.. and I take fat free milk and freeze it in ice cube trays... then i use a few cubes of that instead of ice (creamier), fruit of my choice, protein power, and a splash of non-frozen fat free milk... I prefer the frozen FF milk over ice…

8 hours is more than just time for a snack.. plan something bigger, a healthy sandwich, something more filling so you dont feel like you need to snack the whole way.. then get a low fat granola bar, some hot-air popped popcorn, celery, carrots, and lots and lots of water... oh, and lots of loud music to keep you movin in…

im not overly busty, but when i put my HRM strap on it wear it at about the same level as my bra, so basically right under my boobs  you should have no problems.

I love my polar F11.

I go to the gym every morning and do cardio and weights, but I was thinkin about buying a single piece of equipment for my house to use occasionally in the evenings. sometimes I want to do a bit more but dont feel like driving all the way back to the gym again. Someone near me is selling one of these but I know they are…

I agree... i dont give in to cravings.. actually, i tend to want to eat LESS during that time. my appetite goes way down and I have to make myself eat for the first couple days. I do skip the gym on the first day because I am all crampy, so I use that day as a day off that week (I normally work out at least an hour a…

for me a gym is a necessity. I dont have room in my house for large equipment. my elderly mom lives with me so she is always here, and i feel weird exericsing in front of her LOL for me the gym is not only a way to get fit, but a way to get out and have some "alone time" so, its all about what works best for you mentally,…

you can use low sodium seasoning, and you can use ground chicken or ground turkey for part or all of the meat, once you season it it is hardly noticeable.

it is funny you posted this. I have never used it, but today while I was at the gym I was thinking the same thing... that when i started 5+ weeks ago now, that I started out using the ellipitcal, but that it was all i could do to last 20 minutes, and had to go very slow and was BEAT when I was done. Now I can make myself…

i think at this point you are likely wearing the same clothes as well... and clothes hide things, good and bad. People you see every day, or quite often, wont notice, and frankly, I dont think alot of people pay that much attention.. I know I never did before I started this journey. Great job on losing it, and stick with…

i usually have at least one slice, or sometimes two, of toast with PB on it along with a piece of fruit for breakfast. It is low volume, but very filling and keeps me full until lunch pretty easy most days.

pork and saurkraut.. yummy I would suggest you leave the tenderloin whole until it is done cooking, it will stay more tender. you can put in the kraut with the juice, and add a little more water or FF chicken broth if there isnt alot of liquid in the kraut. By using a crock pot there is hardly any way to mess it up though.

fudgsicles are the bomb! I get the regular ones that are 100 calories and zero fat for a big sized one ( I could go sugar free but I dont like to use too much artificial sweetener) I budget one of these in my calories every single day in the morning, as my evening snack. I dont always eat it, but I always budget for it so…

man, i would go insane if i weighed myself every day..... I think I will just stick to my once a week and hope it shows a small loss each time. :)
