  • Yep - I get chills and sleepiness. I just put a sweater on and feel fine. I usually get REALLY hungry about 1-2 hours after strenuous exercise, so I just eat when that happens. I suppose I just give my body what it needs.
  • Hi! My name is Jessie and I've been on and off MFP for a while. I have a lot of big motivators this year. I'm getting a new drivers license photo taken in mid July, so I want to lose weight for that. I'm also turning 30 in July, so that's another one. DH and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary by going on a…

  • I think I'm a combination hourglass and apple. Is that possible? Anyone else? My belly and back have always been a big problem area for me (32+ inch waist), but I also have a nice bust and butt that's proportional. I gain weight in my belly first, but my upper body and lower body are very quick to shape up with diet and…
  • I want to do this. I've only made it 4 days in the past. LOL I might mix in some running since I love C25K. I'm starting off June with a big out-of-town trip to a friends house for his yearly block party. *sigh* Ah well.
  • Do that and eat a banana beforehand for potassium, too. I find it helps for me. Don't eat just before running, though. LOL Give it some time to settle/digest.
  • It all sounds like a bunch of drama being created for the camera. I think it's ridiculous. Restricting clothing size, to some extent, will not guarantee skinny people. Haha... how naive! And what's "skinny" anyway? Size 8 pants on a 5'3" woman will look VERY different than the same size 8 pants on a 5'11" woman. LOL I own…
  • I had a terrible time keeping people from using my coffee creamer. I had to stop bringing it into work and had my coffee at home instead. Buying my favorite creamer for my office mates was too expensive. :-/ I'm not aware of any food thieves in my current office. We have one lady who will LOSE IT if someone leaves the…
  • I couldn't agree more.
  • Lots of people like their gel seats or padded shorts. I hurt for a little while, but it eventually went away and I haven't had a problem for years.
  • It's nice to see that I'm not alone in the turning-tomato-red department. I can't tell you how many people I've frightened because of my intensely red exercise face. I've had exercise instructors stop what they were doing in class to make sure I'm ok. People stop and stare. LOL Nope, it's just me. I've been turning tomato…
  • Wow! Thank you for all the replies! I tried the elliptical for 15 minutes today. I was sweating, red-faced, and had jello legs when I got off. I loved it! The weights room is few steps away, so I thought I'd do a weights routine and then jump on the elliptical afterwards.
  • Has anyone done C25K entirely on a treadmill?
  • My husband calls me curvy and loves my curves. I haven't fully accepted my curves, but I'm getting there. I have never been able to spot-reduce and always thought it wasn't possible. My body will gain and lose weight where it pleases - -usually my chest and midsection before anywhere else. While curves can definitely be…
  • I'm 5'5" and turning 30 years old this year. I am currently about 154-ish pounds. An attainable goal for me is 140. That's what I was throughout college. I would love to get down to 130 pounds. I felt awesome at that weight and that's what I weighed when I got married 5 years ago.
  • My pantry and fridge are pretty much stocked, but I still need a few things this weekend: red bell pepper russet potatoes tomatoes purple onions tomatillos eggplant mangoes avocados bananas fresh basil chicken leg quarters can coconut milk green curry paste
  • YES! Haha... It all just bothered me because no one should pressure you when you've already given a firm "No."
  • Is it considered binge eating if you only eat one meal a day and eat nearly all your calories in that one meal? I used to do this all the time before I got married. But it was just one meals-worth of food (usually from a restaurant). My husband calls me a binge eater, and he's the only one who has. I tend to wait too long…
  • Everyone has already mentioned such great things! It's basically all been covered in the previous posts. :-) While fresh veggies have a special place in my heart, frozen veggies have been such a time saver in my quest to eat healthy. The biggest time saver of all was when I decided to start buying onions in bulk at about…
  • Breakfast is a waste for me, too. I usually just have coffee and a piece of fruit, if that. But I typically have an early lunch to make up for it. I've been known to eat my lunch between 10am - 12pm.
  • I researched the alleged abortifacient effects of Paraguard. Studies have been done and there is no conclusive evidence that egg and sperm are able to meet with the Paraguard in place. Yes, it *can* happen, in theory, but it is extremely rare. You're far more likely to fertilize an egg and then abort it while on hormonal…
  • I started waking up at 6am for a 7am spin class. It's not THAT early, but it's been a challenge for me. The first week was really easy for some reason. Maybe because I was excited about a new class and a new schedule. The 2nd and 3rd weeks have been far more challenging. *sigh* I discovered that I need about an hour to…
  • I am cold most of the time. Eating and exercise helps quite a bit. I also have (healthy) low blood pressure (100/60 - ish). That definitely contributes to my tendency to be cold. I'm always layering my shirts. My husband calls it my "armor" and teases me about it. Hehe. I recently discovered lightweight thermals and LOVE…
  • I have had the Paraguard (copper) IUD for 5 years now. I *love* it. I have never had Mirena, so I can't comment on that one. Hormonal BCPs messed me up psychologically when I was on them. I'll never go the hormonal route again. I have always had heavy periods and my IUD hasn't changed the flow at all. They are not heavy…
  • I get this, too. I think the person is trying to be nice. It happened to me soon after I *finally* dropped below my overweight mark. Hehe. Commenting on someone's weight and/or weight loss is always a tricky subject to bring up.
  • I'm 29 and I began noticing that I *start* feeling sore two days later. It always catches me by surprise!
  • I started off eating 1200/day + *some* exercise calories, if any. I lost a lot in my first week, but then I gained it back and my weight wouldn't budge. I was dead on my feet at work and fell asleep as soon as I got home. I had no energy at all. Reading through these message boards opened my eyes to BMR and TDEE. TDEE:…
  • Dear me at 16: Stop spending so much time on the internet making "friends" in chat rooms. Don't believe any of the lies your mom is saying about your dad. Show your dad how much you love him. Go spend time with him. Your brother died, but you're going to be ok. You'll become a different person, and that's ok, too. No,…
  • Mine says I'm 125 pounds, which is what I weighed when I first got it at age 16. I tried updating it once when I went in to renew, but they didn't make the changes for me. *shrug* I currently weigh 155 and 130 is my goal.
  • The only problem I've experienced with Crystal Light, specifically, is molar pain. The pain is bad when I start drinking CL every day. It disappears every time I commit to not drinking it.
  • I agree. This is why I am so enthusiastic about homeschooling my children. Scientific publications and studies are good to read, but you should not automatically believe them. Just because ONE or TWO studies were done doesn't mean that it's findings should be taken as truth.
