  • Are you struggling to get your calories in for the day? If no, doesn't matter when you eat. If yes, then maybe look to get more calorie dense foods. If you're not hungry and you're getting calories with proper nutrients, then really there is no worry.
  • If it helps you eat healthy and you feel fine eating it, I wouldn't worry about sugars/carbs from natural fruit sources.
  • If you're at a point of 2 lbs needed to hit goal... You're basically going to need to make sure your net is above BMR(This will protect your metabolic rate) and to get that weight off, you're going to have to lock down your food intake.
  • I was referring to what I used, I don't use milks for protein, only for smoothie consistency.
  • I have beaten their prices a couple times. Though their selection is better and it is definitely rare. VitaminShoppe.com is worth a look(Free shipping no $25 and over, limited selection) Netrition.com is decent, though I have not used them yet personally.
  • Carb is a fuel source. Fat is a fuel source. I choose to get my fuel mostly from fat, and stick to natural carbs. As long as you're getting good quality fat sources, I wouldn't worry much. 1g of fat=9 cal, 1g of carb=4 cal. You can also change your macro break down in the settings option if you need to. Some people…
  • Greek yogurt plain. Almond or Coconut Milk. Protein powder. I use Whey and Casein protein. Casein is a little more expensive and a slower digesting protein. Coconut milk is higher in fat, this will help fill you up. Right now I have a smoothie in the morning w/ 1/2 a cup of yogurt+1/2 cup protein powder+1/4 cup fo almond…
  • So fueling your body properly doesn't make sense to you? Interesting... And no, not everything works for everyone, sometimes you have to tweak a basic game plan to fit your needs.
  • Threads like this make me appreciate my girlfriend so much more. None of this nonsense to be dealt with. Amazing how communication actually can work.
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/lillebanon/view/my-take-on-eating-more-to-weigh-less-254554 This will give you a lot of good information to figure out a good caloric intake for you.
  • Some shirts from my first weight loss years ago are still too tight to wear, so I just switch. But a few are now looking decent again so I wear those.
  • O rly? http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/nutrition/protein-controversies.html Also, why is it that I know quite a few guys packing away 300+ and it isn't causing them issues. If you have kidney issues, protein needs to be a little more responsibly monitored, but otherwise don't worry. And at 100g, you're not even close to…
  • I worked out less, ate more, lost 3-4x the weight as opposed to watching what I ate, working super hard, and kept my calories lower. I'd recommend Eat More, Lose More philosophy. My girlfriend is doing pretty nicely and it is AWESOME to have a lady who can eat, makes for great meals together.
  • Your question is the answer! How do you adjust this "don't eat carbs after lunch" to your time table? Time doesn't dictate how your body uses stuff. You can eat carbs after lunch, right before bed, and be fine. Why is it non-sense? Biggest Loser is a pretty horrible credit IMO, they aren't learning healthy realistic living…
  • What exactly will your body use to rebuild with? I can't say I know this well, but this seems like you're going to be lacking serious ability to rebuild your tissue...
  • Girlfriend is 5'1" and <120 pounds, she eats 1400+ day and actually needs to up her calories. She's at the thinnest and lightest she has been in her adult life. So yeah, height is pretty much a non-excuse for eating this low of an amount.
  • MFP already builds in the caloric deficit. You're just causing a greater deficit by not eating calories back. Creating a bigger than MFP issued deficit crashed my results weekly.
  • Cold day in hell when I listen to my doctor for nutritional advice. I think the majority of them have like a MINUSCULE amount of time dedicated to nutrition and actually understanding it. This is not who I want my advice from.
  • Eggs(Sorry you don't like these.) Meats of all kinds (Fish, Chicken, Beef, may someday add Turkey, some pork) Greek Yogurt+Protein Powder Nuts but I eat those more for fat than protein Nut Butter My intake is generally boring overall... Heh
  • Carbonated, caffeinated, and and stains your teeth. My teeth are whiter, I don't feel like I eat as much with water(I still occasionally indulge in diet, more lately for some reason, back to water now) and overall I just feel better with water. Much more hydrated. Removing caffeine was good for me. It just makes you more…
  • Eating throughout the day isn't that important. It is just something used to help curb binges.
  • REALLY like this approach. Budgeting like income is a REALLY nice way to put it!
  • Welcome to the first step of a healthier life. Awareness of the crap around you. I just pretty much eat, I've actually had to find calorie dense foods to get my calories up. I believe in the Eat More Lose More approach, but everyone uses their own take on how to get it done. You're just going to have to start exchanging…
  • How long have you gone to higher intake?
  • Um, no. I am against running your body into the ground in an unrealistic and unhealthy way with a relatively low fuel source. It works short term, but as the results have shown, the weight is more than likely to come back. Fast results are great, if achieved through a healthy manner. My cousin has done the BL type thing,…
  • So if you only put in 1100 calories of fuel but then workout for 30 minutes... Your body is going to opt to run your body and ignore the muscle repair leading to lean body mass loss. Not that hard. As for people thinking 1200 is good, girlfriend is 5'1", <120, looks pretty good, and eats plenty. 1400-2000/day depending on…
  • That's fine dude, I get it. I have not supported BMI at all. The reply was pertaining to "trusting an online calculator." Actually, it is trusting the equation to start with. That reply provided added 0 to help the OP. As I said before, your post prior was a solid post and great info for OP. Confused as to why you are…
  • Not even remotely the same... 30DS is a workout program. TBL is a weight loss show that is a proven failure long term. See the link I posted or google "biggest loser where are they now"
