It was weight lifting day. I got a new weight set and am thrilled to be able start heavy lifting again. I managed a little over 4 miles of walking while reading a tax textbook. I've still got about 16 miles left to make goal. With no more weekends in this month I'm not so sure I'll make it. If I don't, it will be close. I…

If you are growing around your stomach it could be bloat. Dairy intolerance runs in my family. It really didn't bite me until a few years ago in my mid-40s. It got my sister in her early 30s and just hit my 21 yo daughter. She lost 5 lbs and a lot of bloat the first week she quit consuming dairy. Luckily we all can still…

I have never tried to run this long before. It took me 2 hrs to do 10 miles but I think I could have pushed the speed a bit and still made it that long. I have homework to do otherwise another hour probably would have been doable. I will have to experiment with that

Been busy this last couple of days but still managed a walk yesterday and a 4 mile run this morning.

Some walking yesterday and a short run this morning. Hope everyone has a great day!

Got in another 5 miles this morning.

Bump-I live on salads.

First run since Monday. I didn't want to get really sick the first week on a new job. Figured if the run wiped me out I could always go back to bed today. It felt great so I guess I'm better. Dave, I hope you are feeling better. It is amazing how all you people in the south and east are managing to get your miles in. I'm…

I feel a lot better today but don't want to push it. Did an easy 3.08 miles walk.

Have a cold and started a new job this week. Not being a big exercise time. Only 3 miles of walking this morning.
-
Short 3 miler this morning. First day at a new job and still having a bit of a cold put a crimp in my running.

4 miles of walking and read a chapter of tax text. We are a little warmer. Gave up on the pellet stove and got a ceramic heater. We have to be careful what we have going though since we keep tripping breakers, can't have coffee pot going while heater is on, can't run microwave either. At least it is about 62 in the kitchen…

Start a new job on Monday so I'll have to see how that affects my miles. Have a touch of a cold but still managed a 5 mile run this morning. Sadly, our pellet stove is dead. We rent from this really psycho guy so we know it won't be fixed. We have a blanket over the doorway in the living room which has expensive wall…

5.5 miles running and a couple at a slow walk. My house is freezing. Our pellet stove broke which is the only source of heat in most of the house. Current temp inside is 49 so I'm hiding in my bedroom with a space heater. I could venture out again and walk more just to get my blood pumping.

Walking while studying for a midterm. Did some circuits today so that kept me busy for a bit.
-
5.5 miles running this am.

Did a little walking today while knocking out another chapter in advanced accounting. I have a mid-term this week so that will entail a bunch of reading so will hopefully get in a lot of miles.

Heavily chlorinated water does that to me. Try filtered or bottled. If it is room temp try cold or vice versa. If you just don't like the taste or lack of it try a squeeze of lemon or lime in it.

That's why I measure. My eyes can deceive me, my scale can lie but the tape measure doesn't lie. I was feeling very discouraged this month but when I took my monthly measurements I had lost 1.5" off my waist and 3/4" off my belly which is my problem zone. I lost a little in some of my non problem zones too. So now I feel…

Just over 5 mile run this morning. I've gotten my time down to 10 min per mile. Last year I was at 9 but didn't run for a while so got out of shape.

I don't consider planning some splurges as a binge. I love donuts too. My solution is to periodically buy 1 donut and take it home. Once I'm home I am unlikely to go back to the store for another. We all have to do what we have to do to control unhealthy habits and I think you have found an excellent way to do that. Enjoy…

I'm in for another month! My goal this month is 100. The shorter month and the fact that I'm hoping I will find a job thus cutting into my exercise time makes that seem like a reachable goal. Today was circuits and yoga so I only walked 3.8 miles. I do want to say how much I appreciate the work you guys put into tracking…

I miss having a gym membership because they had weights. I can't afford to buy a good set for home. What I liked about the gym was that I would go before work. I could beat traffic into town, workout, and then be on the road to work. Choosing a gym close to work meant I only had to battle traffic a little rather than a…

Last run of the month although you never know if I'll walk later today. Anyway did 5 miles.

Did he mention that type 2 diabetes can be cured with daily coffee enemas? That is the strangest advice I've ever gotten. Now I have to agree that if you ate around 10 cups of veggies and 3 of fruit you would probably be too full to eat much else. Throw in some protein (apparently less than 4 oz at a time or whatever) and…

I can't afford an HRM so I take my pulse a few times during steady state cardio and come up with an average beats per minute then plug it into http://braydenwm.com/calburn.htm. I took my pulse at rest and plug that in. You get cal burn for your heart rate during exercise and subtract your resting heart rate. I think this…

I try to avoid either. If you are getting normal soreness then after. Sometimes just taking a day off can help. If I overworked muscles I try to do some gentle stretching and moderate walking throughout the day to help them loosen up. If you are getting joint pain (something us OFs often get) then changing how you are…

Took a break yesterday but did a 5 mile run this morning.

I often do sprints one day a week instead of a longer, slower run. I run as fast as I can for 30 seconds or 1 minute then walk for a minute or so to recover then repeat. I max at 20 or 30 minutes of this. Since I mostly treadmill run I kick up my speed just a hair about once a week. I had to take a break from running for a…

5.15 mile run this am.
