It was circuit and yoga day but walked 5.5 miles.

Walked a mile on Friday and never added it. Ran 5.1 this morning and walked 5 this afternoon. Running in the snow and horrible weather shows how dedicated you are. I'm in awe. I'm a fair weather runner. If I don't like the conditions I run on my treadmill.

3 or 4 days a week I run for an hour. In the past, I used to watch a movie or tv program. Since that isn't an option right now I read in really large print on my Kindle. I often walk for 2 or more hours on the treadmill and read textbooks. The print is too small to run while doing that. I've also run to music for an hour…

Leon, so sorry. It can be quite a shocking diagnosis. I was in my early 30s when I was diagnosed T2. I was a little plump but very active. Ask your dr. to send you to a certified diabetes educator. Some are very good and can really help you out. Some, not so much. It can be a little overwhelming to find information. After…

5.16 running this morning.

Just a bit of a walk today added 3 miles.

5.2 miles running this morning. Wow, I'm over 100 miles. I never realized I do that much in a month.

Kegels. Make sure you go before you exercise. Wear a pad. I have found certain moves are worse than others. I can run miles but jumping rope gets me in a few jumps. It is actually a fairly common problem and despite lots of kegeling for years I have not been able to overcome it. I am just grateful I can run without wetting…

4 mile run this morning.

Not one of my better runs but at least it is done. I was just not very energetic today but still managed to get 5 miles.

Water packed canned fruit or frozen pieces of fruit would last longer. Apples and oranges have more shelf life than berries. Frozen veggies without sauces. In the summer I used to take my ice chests with me to the grocery store since it was 50 miles away. I would also try to do all my errands at that point so it wasn't…

Weight is also not the only consideration. Some people are more muscular than others. My two nephews are technically overweight. Neither has any extra fat but that dense build seems to run in my family. We all are much heavier than we appear. If your pediatrician isn't over worried then I wouldn't be. Kids eat differently.…

Little over 6 miles of walking today.

Being short (I'm also 4'11") and trying to lose just a few pounds (about 11) I know it is slow going. My goal is to lose 1/4 lb per week. I have T2 diabetes which seems to greatly affect weight loss along with the hormonal changes that come from being 48 (I also had a hysterectomy and while I still have my ovaries my…

Use other veggies besides leafy stuff. Broccoli steamed and chilled with chunks of chicken and a cottage cheese dressing along with anything else you might like such as onion, garlic, bell pepper, black pepper, dill etc.

Ran some and walked some. Had a little sunbreak so we went for a hike to some nearby falls.

Walking and studying for 3 miles.

Yay for you! That is such an accomplishment. Good job for sticking to it.

I run because it keeps me from going postal. The bonus is that it burns a bunch of cals, lowers my blood glucose (I'm diabetic), I feel good, and I feel like I've done something although I run on a treadmill and actually go nowhere. Perhaps it is time that you find a different exercise that makes you feel good about what…

Little over 5 miles running and a mile of walking.

3 miles of walking today.

Ran a bunch, walked a little.

I eat loads of veggies usually either sauteed in olive oil with garlic or roasted with olive oil and garlic. Lately, I have had a thing about zucchini pancakes. I use a couple of eggs, maybe 2 cups of grated zucchini, a splash of milk or water, about 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of baking powder (can't you tell I really don't measure…

Walking day today. Did 4.5 miles. I hope everyone is having a good day!

Ran some walked a little.

Plateaus can be so discouraging. I had one for over 6 months. Life threw a bunch of crap at me and I wasn't able to get as much exercise as usual and my eating wasn't what it should be. 3 months later I had gained everything I lost back (like 8 lbs) over the last 2 years. Back down about 4 now that I'm back on track.…

My sister took up running marathons in her late 40s. I don't think she had run since high school before that. I know that I used to walk a lot but in my late 40s I took up much less ambitious running. I run 5 miles a few days a week. You are never too old to become active but everyone needs to start out slower. You did…

Lately I've been a little burned out. Decided it was NOT a tax accounting day. Read a novel while walking the treadmill. Added 3 miles to my ticker.

I smoked for over 30 years. I ranged from half pack a day to 3! I tried every aid out there with no permanent success. I am at over 2 years smoke free but I made it to 3 years once. I guess I never believe I have truly quit so I never let my guard down. I view my addiction to nicotine like an addiction to any other drug.…

5 mile run this morning. I miss running outside. Winter in western Washington always means rain but it really isn't that cold. I just live on a bad road to run on. In fact, it is one of the most dangerous roads in the state. We actually have 2 signs located in various places stating how many days we've gone without a…
