I used to be into the cheat concept. But somewhere along the line I realized that it was counterintuitive to what I was really looking for. And there dealing with the aftermath as well...

I'm of the same mind. I see a lot of people pay lipservice to a lifestyle change, but hold to the "cheat" day or meal theory. And it seems like a contradiction to me. And now that you mention it, I don't like the implication of dishonesty or breaking rules that goes along with it.

"When people show you who they really are, believe them." I think that's Maya Angelou. and "Do the thing you hate to do most, first." My Mom. and "There's always a price to pay. You can pay it pay it up front, or in the end, but you will pay." My Dad. (Used to use this one often when I complained about my weight in regards…

My remedy is one that feels the best AFTER, not before or while. It's exercise. It releases endorphines in your body. Also afterward, I nice hot bubble bath with candles. Yeah it's cliche, but it works for me. :D

I just ordered a variety sample pack from a place. I haven't gotten them in yet, but I've been researching them and now I'm feeling pretty confident that I'm going to like them too. *fingers crossed*

It's a mixed bag for me. I am estranged from one brother. He made the decision to disassociate himself from my parents. *shrug* I don't see him ever. I am extremely close to my Mom, Dad, and sister. My other brother, we have a fairly good relationship. I love my family. All of them. Even the one I never see. :)

I feel your pain. I'm not in that boat so much these days, but I found it difficult at times when I was. How do you handle it? I'd figure a lot of planning has to happen?

I feel so strongly about this. One week ago, I gave up diet soda. I was a diet Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper person. I probably drank a 12 pack every two days. I was insanely overboard but couldn't live without them. Then I started to see blood in my urine. And I was like, "Uh, what more do you need?" So I quit. Cold turkey.…

Are you getting any cardio in? I think adding in some time on an elliptical or treadmill or even just walking anywhere will help. p.s. I happen to think what you're currently doing is fantastic and very needed.

As a person who's normally been the heavy one in a relationship, I always wished my partners would leave me the hell alone. I knew they meant well. I knew they did it out of love (well one of them). But it wasn't something someone could jump start in me. I only lost the weight when I came to the decision. Just as I am the…
