Millions of years ago when we first got net access & I was doing a computing qualification we were told never use our real ID's on line. Our first attempt to dial-up I had to think of of an alta-ego PDQ so I used the name of the girl that had just cut my hair, cos I liked her & her name :)

Yup, hate it - it just feels WRONG, like I'm damaging my body. I heard yesterday there's a new word in the English language ... "Hangry" meaning bad tempered and snappy cos you're hungry (usually thru dieting) :o>

What a cheering-up thread! Just goes to emphasise we should be concentrating on healthy bodies not catwalk model bodies :drinker:

Things that keep me awake (apart from stress) are - exercising too close to bedtime (like 4 hours or less); chocolate too close to bedtime (its a stimulant, especially dark choc); tea/coffee too close to bedtime (unless decaff). Things that help - dairy/carbs before bed (dairy especially helps make you sleepy). There's an…

Nuts! love 'em but they are hugely calorific. I also love brown rice but you can only have a tiny amount if you don't want the cals to scare you.
-
Doesn't exasperation cause calorie burn?

LOL.. I would say it was the same as housework, I mean it feels about the same as scrubbing out the shower or something. >>I was doing some DIY today....what did you think i meant? << for a second there I thought you were having happy times with a vibrator  LOL

A brilliant idea! I've met up with internet friends loads of times and it's always really rewarding - fun and interesting. I don't know if you guys found this but their characters/personalities are always exactly as I'd imagined them too ...:drinker:

Spotted on a maternity teeshirt: "What's your superpower? I can grow people"...

It's pretty easy to grow - I used to stick a couple of leaves in a drink when I was trying to get off sugar, it was really delish. But I'm intolerant to a lot of herbs and that turned out to be one of them  it made me itch!

Always good to see another Brit! I'm 50 miles SE of London. Welcome to the site - it's the best of it's kind I've come across (and shhhh! it's still free!!) has everything you need to help you through- enjoy! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Sugar in tea/coffee & other sugary drinks. It took about 6 mo's to get over the pain, but now - it's true... it does taste really yuk if someone accidentally puts sugar in your coffee :)

Slightly OT but u might want to think about getting yourself a juicer-home made juices are really scrummy especially (surprisingly) veggie juices - they are also freezable so very convenient. And they definitely do give u an energy boost. I got a basic one from Amazon nearly new for £35.

haahaa some folks will do anything if theres a chance of a choccie bar down the line :))

Fourth  Good post and great replies. AFAIK 90% of men don't like skeletal clothes hanger types for girlfriends, they LIKE curves. But too many extra lbs and the curves disappear in the other direction. I have to keep reminding myself of how we laughed at those Victorian ladies breaking their ribs and deforming their…

Actually my daughter was worse than my sons, I remember walking thru her room out of necessity cos I never usually went in there and my feet stuck to chewing gum splodged across her lino flooring (best not to have carpets in these situations  ). Yup they do grow out of it, ours did once they were off to Uni & had to…

I agree with Lynette about the Iron - I was tested and also very low on ferritin (stored iron, not blood iron) - after taking supplements (Solgar Gentle Iron) I warmed up!! Also was less tired. And there's always thermal underwear! very thin very light & doesn't make you look bulky like layers of sweaters do :)

Isn't Obama trying to sort this out? What happened to that?
-
I agree CatCrazy, it has its faults here and there, but generally we don't have to worry about health care, My daughter just had a problem pregnancy and baby still in special care 2 weeks later, baby had to have an op and will need some serious backup for quite a while - daughter had scans once a fortnight and excellent…

Here's more from another newspaper: >>However, two major changes are being introduced, starting next week. First, dieters will be able to eat as much fruit and vegetables as they want under the new Points Plus programme, as these will incur no points at all. The only exception is potatoes and other starchy vegetables. That…
-
>>But can't you only have a certain amount of 0 points foods everyday? << I don't know - its about 20 years since I was last at WW, but back then zero points meant you could eat as much as you liked of those foods - I definitely remember most veggies you could eat as much of as you liked cos they were zero points..
-
Yeh me too with the bananas. And the raspberries/melons/strawberries/blueberries. I love fruit, can eat it by the bucketload. Well I dunno maybe there's more to this than is coming out in the article. The new system starts tomorrow 8th Nov when all details will be on the WW website. If anyone is on there already, maybe…

I've never tracked sodium. Surely it would only make a temporary difference anyway - ie if you stopped all of it in your diet you'd lose the water in 2-3 days.

Man..Shakespeare Woman: Shakespeare's mum . How did she produce that genius??

Nice

Would it do any harm to take the eggs out? That's her fall back insurance. Then research as much as you can about the "aggressive drug treatment" - what are the alternatives...?? Get a 2nd opinion? Talk to the various expert bodies - Arthritis Foundation etc. This will all take a little time tho - can you put off the drug…

Thanks for everyone's comments, they're really helpful. I have actually noticed with older people (cos there have been a few well-known bods who have done this over here) that if they diet too hard they get quite haggard-looking, look almost ill, so yeh maybe its expecting too much to get back to a 30 y/o bod. TY mmtiernan…

>>My plan is to go kicking and screaming into old age! << LOL - you go girl! So can I ask those who measure body fat - what's the best way to do it? I bought some scales that are supposed to do that but have been told they're wildly inaccurate. I might try something different with the exercise; I'm already jogging…
