Interesting. /me heads off to check the FitBit site for steps and miles from June to August..... *pause* 1,642,181 steps 774.88 miles eek!

Daily, I do an absolute minimum of five miles but it's normally something between eight and ten miles.

Exactly this! I was offered a slice of pizza this morning and I gratefully accepted it. It wasn't my usual choice but it was very nice indeed. People see pizza as the spawn of the devil but it really isn't that bad. Take it in moderation and allow for it, it's not rocket science.

Yes, I had what I generally referred to as a 'bad back' for years. Not any more, no problems with my back whatsoever any more, that's having gone down from 330lb to 178-180 (ish).
-
Based on the single profile picture I see, yes.

I was around 330lb when I started and I'm now down to 178(ish). I didn't really notice any loose skin until I got under about 210lb but it is a bit frustrating. I have it around my belly, the inside of the top of my thighs and my bum cheeks. There's also a little looseness on my back but that's not noticeable, I'm just…

I walk eight miles pretty much every day and I started doing that when I had over 100lb to lose. At your own admission it took four hours to walk so that's an average of 2mph. There's absolutely no way whatsoever that you burned 3,500 calories for that walk, no matter if you're 100lb overweight. It's great that you did the…

Chicken or turkey? I like turkey, even fewer calories than chicken.
-
Well done, that's a great loss!
-
Just work around it. I have a full pizza every week - The one's from Tesco aren't too bad for taste and are just around 850-900 calories for the entire pizza.

Thanks and well spotted. You're very close - It's a GW4000D-1A: http://www.gshock.com/watches/Aviation/GW4000D-1A

Pass. It's a bloke thing!

Well of course, anyone who weighed as much as he did would lose massive amounts of weight by reducing his intake to 1200 calories a day. I didn't have to be Subway, it could be anything whatsoever. This whole "Subway diet" thing is a load of rubbish that's been over-hyped by Subway themselves as a marketing trick. Yes, he…

Grab!

If I didn't have one, I wouldn't have managed to do what I've done. It's as simple as that so to me, it's worth every penny.

I'm in my late 40s and I've lost 145lb purely by walking and calorie counting with MFP. Thread with pictures here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1339501-140lb-down-i-ve-reached-my-initial-goal-with-pictures

I'm just 3.5lb from my final target, is it OK if I drop that little bit more?
-
I did until a couple of weeks ago and then it hit me. I'm not fat any more! I even wrote my first MFP blog about it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/nentecular

I deny your rant.

Again, thanks everyone for the kind comments. I had a good day out today, bought my first decent pair of proper jeans for many years - Some Levi 501s. 34" waist and I don't need to wear a belt! I've not been without a belt for a long time. My daughter snapped this picture of me at Caffe Nero. I quite like it (although…

It doesn't have to be complicated. If you have to completely change your way of life, then the chances are you won't stick to it. Regarding food, simply eat what you currently eat but exercise strict portion control. Weigh absolutely everything and don't guess. There's been some good advice regarding exercise but the…

Fage is quite simply the best. The other 'Greek style' yoghurts don't even come close.

I'm a UK person and mine is here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1339501-140lb-down-i-ve-reached-my-initial-goal-with-pictures

Again, thanks everyone for the nice comments  I know I said I've never been called handsome before, I know for a fact that I've never been called cute and that's really tickled me :blushing:

Thank you - I've had a couple of minor blips where I've almost gone above the trend line but it genuinely has only been those three times since I started although having had a day out and a massive burger for my dinner yesterday, I came close to it this morning. I did manage to walk 35,000 steps yesterday but the scales…

Pass - I don't grab guys!

Put your height and weight figures into MFP and see what it tells you to eat. Do that. So, perhaps you should eat less. Just a thought

I find it the opposite. All the tracking programs I've used (MapMyWalk, Endomondo, Runkeeper, etc) show a greater distance then my FitBit. I don't really care though, the important thing to me is the number of steps. Regarding calories burned, Runkeeper is closest to the number reported by FitBit and both are pretty…

Thank you everyone, your words mean a lot to me. I don't think I've ever been called handsome before!

All I've done is walk and calorie count. I use a FitBit and when I started, I built myself up to five miles/day and now I normally manage between eight and ten miles/day at an average speed of around 4.4mph. I always eat a large percentage of my exercise back. I didn't change what I ate at all, I still eat all the rubbish…
